Great game!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When I was younger, I played this on the Wii and beat the game. When I found out this came out on switch I preordered it immediately. When I played it on my switch I beat it in a week. On the switch, one of the BEST add ons was the optional motion control because that was one of my main problems with the wii version. However, I highly recommend, if you do NOT use motion controls, to use a pro controller or any controller other than joy cons. I have yet to try it out, but drift may affect gameplay.

Great game, terrible controls
||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Please don't think this is a bad game. I gave it 3 stars because of the game's mechanics. Unlike on the Wii, the motion controls feel WORST on this version of Skyward Sword, and even though there is a button mode for this game, to me, it doesn't work as fine as one would hope (HOWEVER a lot of people have round button mode a much better experience.) Now, the graphics have improved a bit since the Wii, and the story is as wonderful as ever, the experience of said story is just so good, and the music is beautiful. A HUGE plus for being able to skip cutscenes now.

Beautiful re-release of a classic
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I never got to play Skyward Sword so I was very excited for this to come out on Switch. It's not a new game but it's new to me and that's all that matters. I was hoping Nintendo would release a Zelda compilation similar to Super Mario 3D All Stars, with HD remakes of Wind Waker / Twilight Princess / Skyward Sword, as I'd love to replay Wind Waker and also never got to finish Twilight Princess, but I'll take what I can get. So far this is a lot of fun and lives up to its reputation.

Great game!
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’m really enjoying the game this time around. Nintendo made some great improvements over the original Wii version. The ability to play handheld without mention control has been nice.

Not a ton better on Switch, but it's a must play!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I owned this on the Wii, but never could get into it because of the motion controls. When it was announced for Switch and that you could use the Pro controller I was thrilled! Was it really all I hoped for though? No. The motion controls of swinging the sword were simply moved to the (R) stick. Took some getting used to, but I finished the game with only a couple of boss battles really feeling difficult, and only ever died once early on. Only ever needed potions at the end of the game, so overall it was fairly easy, but satisfying. Even getting the Hylian shield was fairly easy if you learned the boss battle mechanics which I'm usually not good at doing. Where Skyward Sword truly shines though is the story. If you didn't experience it on the Wii, now is the time!

Still a good game after 10 years, but overpriced.
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was one of my favorite Nintendo Wii games, especially being one of the few "hardcore" video games where motion controls really made a difference, rather than flinging your controller sideways here and there. Speaking of the controls, they made a method of using regular controls this time around, which is nice if you're in a room full of other wireless devices making your joy-cons unresponsive. That's about the only thing different they did with this version. This is no remaster by any means, it's simply an upscale from 480p and won't look like a stretched out hot mess on your modern TV. The game is $10 more than the retail price of the Wii version, and that's not even including the $80 joy-cons or the amiibo they made for this game, which unlocks a feature for the game that should've been included without buying a toy, both of which went to scalper territory in less than 24 hours. I remember getting this game on the Wii WITH a special controller included for a $70 retail price. Hero mode is not unlocked from the get-go like Wind Waker HD and Twilight Princess HD, exploring the Sky is still a pretty empty experience, and there is just nothing new to experience in general if you've already played the original game. Between this game, Pikmin 3 and that Mario 3D collection, I feel disappointed with Nintendo and like they're trying to milk their customers lately. Only bought it personally because I've been waiting for the idea of SSHD for a while. Would not recommend supporting these tactics.

Best version of Skyward Sword
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I tried to play through this game on my Wii and I absolutely hated it. Motion controls were the worst thing to come to this series. Additionally, the Wii resolution is terrible (480p) so it looks horrendous on my TV. Playing the Switch version is amazing, the controls are great and outputting in 1080p means I can more easily tell what things are supposed to and read the text more easily. I beat this game, and it is great like all Zelda games are.

The Definitive Skyward Sword Experience
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As someone who has never played the original game, I am happy to be able to play what is essentially the definitive version. Not only are the updated visuals pleasing to the eye, but also how fluid the game runs, running at 60 frames per second compared to the original’s 30. The added button controls are a plus as well for people who are not fond of motion controls, like myself. Though they do take some time to get used to, that is nothing a couple hours of gameplay will not fix.

Fun Remaster that runs great on switch
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Awesome remaster. I never played Skyward Sword back when it came out on the Wii. Which is good for me because it feels like I'm playing through a brand new Zelda game. The gameplay is dated but still satisfying if you're coming from Breath of the Wild. I had a blast. THe controls are annoying but you get used to them. It takes maybe 4-6 hours of gameplay and you'll forget that you ever hated the controls. Def worth it if you're a Zelda fan.
