The button controls take a while to get used to, but every complaint I had with the Wii version has been addressed. Get this game if you missed out the first time around.

This is an overlooked gem of a game. Oveooked because many disliked the Wii control scheme. This version is streamlined and is a fun Zelda adventure. If you like Zelda games, give this one a try.

Even after you beat the game, there is always so much to do. Truly hundreds of hours of entertainment. The best of the Zelda series, right along with Majora's Mask and ocarina of time.

I played the original game on the Wii and loved it then. Porting this over to the Switch allowed me to play on a current gaming system. The graphics were improved, and nothing was taken away from the original.

A good enough remaster. Improved controls and a streamlines opening go a long way towards making the game more enjoyable this time around. The resolution increase makes the painting-like textures appear more like muddy splotches, so I wish more care went into visual improvements. Story is still amazing though and still an excellent Zelda experience.

Great game, controls can be a little wonky, but that has been my experience with pretty much all 3D Zelda games. The graphics have not been completely overhauled, but they have been sharpened to look good on a modern TV.

Controls suck / hard to figure out where to go nex

I didn't like Skyward Sword on the Wii due to the controls (I generally didn't like Wiimote) so gave this game a second try on the Switch. The game is now playable and although I didn't beat it yet, am still playing. The one thing I don't like is compared to other Zelda's I've played, it's a lot harder to figure out what to do next and there's literally no hints (or at least I can't find any) and sometimes, I'm stuck for like a hour going back and forth figuring out where to go next. Yes, reading a guide may help this situation but I also don't like doing that so it is my fault but still doesn't change the fact that there's 0 hints, or at least, not findable easily. The controls in itself have improved and I understand why the controls are like that, but I don't like how they made use of the right analog = sword attack directions rather than a button. Overall, it's a Zelda and fun but controls and lack of hints makes this game on the lower end of Zelda series.

I absolutely loved this game on the Wii, and now it's on my favorite system! I never had a problem with the motion controls, and I still don't, and the new button control option is really good, as well.

The new control stick-centric sword combat provides a much better experience than the previous motion controls. But if you preferred the motion controls, those are still available to you. Best of both worlds scenario.

I love Zelda games! I never got to play the original Skyward Sword so it was great that they rereleased it for the switch. Had a great time playing it and truly recommend it to any Zelda lovers out there.

I love the original Skyward Sword. I’ve only played using the new button controls, and while there is a learning curve, it feels good. The visuals are clear and crisp, and the story continues to be my favorite part.

I've played this game many times on Wii, and enjoy this new port. They have made small improvements that were minor annoyances in the original game. It's the same great game and is a lot of fun!

Fun game. I needed a new long termed game to play when I finished Breath of the Wild. I was slightly disappointed because BOTW is so great, but this was a fun one too. I’d recommend Link’s Awakening over Skyward Sword, but if you’re a Legend of Zelda player like I am, you’ll be obsessed before long.

An absolutely fantastic game. While the original Wii version did receive criticism for its use of motion controls, this edition allows the use of typical controller inputs.

This is a classic “hero saves the princess” tale from WII/WiiU days ported to the Nintendo switch console for fans to enjoy in their favorite console without pulling out the old system… lots of high flying adventure options.
