Definitely an upgrade from the Wii version. We absolutely hated the motion controls, and since those were optional, we could actually enjoy the gameplay and story this time.

Played originally on the Wii, loved it then and this remaster is still awesome! Graphics look great on the Switch OLED and a great game to use the motion controls.

One of my favorite games in the Zelda franchise, made even better at 60fps/1080p with simple input controls when you don’t feel like wrist-flicking through the 50+ hour campaign.

I have a few complaints but all-n-all its a good game. A little too linear in the story more than other past Legend of Zelda games. I previously played it for Wii but I didn't complete it so that was why I was eager to get it again. It's more of a prequel to the series. I liked that the game allows handheld, pro controller or joy-con play (Joy-Con Prefered). The sandbox world design is amazing as the skyloft and ground levels all have secrets to be discovered. Although the dungeons are linear the puzzles are not too hard to solve. I took my time and completed the game in 30hrs but it can be finished in 20 if you only follow the main story. My biggest grip was the price drop after launch. I paid $60 for preorder and a week after it hit shelves it was $50. Other problems include the constant re-calibration which happens every few minutes but it simple button press to fix it. Some motions are hard to perform with the joy-cons. Revisiting locations multiple times to further progress each area got annoying by the late game.

Love everything Legend of Zelda. My collector and neurotic soul screamed when I was going through my games and realized my Skyward Sword was a pegi game! Bought this one so all had the ESRB rating on them. Lovely game. Definitely more classic Zelda (given that its a port not a huge surprise), in particular with the color scheme.

Nintendo reissues a great game updated with better graphics and increased controls. There is an amiibo for this game that allows Link to fly whenever he wants too.

I've been waiting for the HD remake of skyward sword as I never played the original on Wii. Great plot controls are a little janky but great game non the less

Definatly fun to come back to finally beat this game. I do have to say i enjoy the button controls alot. Once you get used to them they work out great! I never beat this game on the wii because i did not like the motion controls at all. All around a great game and finally a good experience.

The game runs smooth like butter at 60fps. The motion controls are great and improved. The graphics look much smoother, no huge improvement but the change is noticeable.

Better than you remember. The graphical improvement is more noticeable than I had expected and the changeover from wii to switch wasn’t terribly tough on the controls.

Really amazing HD port, I think when looking at the original version of this game, there was many flaws in regarding to the flow of the game. Despite the story being great, the original did interrupt the pacing with constant dialogues and pacing. However with this port, they were able to fix up the pacing and change up minor details that might’ve looked off from the original. They were even able to add control only mode if you preferred not using motion controls. Aside from that if you’ve never played skyward sword and happen to like story-based Zelda games then i definitely recommend picking this up!

It’s not BOTW but it’s fun in its own way. It’s not links awakening either. Your not necessarily free to explore, it’s all a one way trip to the end of the game but it’s fun to figure out how to how to solve all the puzzles. Not worth the full price but a fun casual game in my opinion.
