Having a great time with it!!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I haven't yet finished the game, but I've already played over 120 hours and have been having a fantastic time! The gameplay is fun and creative, and the story has kept me guessing and eager to learn more. There's a constant sense of exploration and discovery; despite taking place in the same map as the previous game, the world has undergone serious changes and there's plenty of new things to discover! This is coming from someone who put several hundred hours into Breath of the Wild, so I knew that game's map like the back of my hand. Even with that knowledge from the previous game, I still find myself getting lost and not recognizing areas that were once familiar. If you're worried that TotK is too similar to have that sense of discovery, just know that I'm still discovering new things after over 100 hours of gameplay! The only problem I've had is small performance issues (frame rate drops) in certain areas of the game and when there's a lot going on onscreen. Thankfully, these issues don't occur very frequently! Overall, I would highly recommend this game, especially if you enjoyed its predecessor, Breath of the Wild!

Excellent open world Legend of Zelda
|Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Really great Legend of Zelda game for the Nintendo Switch. I am crazy about the Legend of Zelda franchise and so far I am enjoying every minute of gameplay. There is just so much content, from the sky islands, to the overworld, and the depths. One might say it's almost too much. If you like open world games like Skyrim, you will enjoy this. However, if you prefer some of the older type of Zelda games that provide you more guidance on where to go or what to do next, you may not like this one. Compared to Breath of the Wild, it does feel like more of the same, but with a lot of quality of life improvements. My only gripe is that a lot of people in the world don't really remember Link's accomplishments from the previous games other than some main characters. I suppose this is to give brand new players the ability to start off fresh with this game without having played Breath of the Wild. But the new abilities are a treat, especially fuse. I am amazed at how much content Nintendo managed to cram in such a small cartridge.

A Worthy Addition to the Legend of Zelda Franchise
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. In my opinion, Tears of the Kingdom is a fun and challenging game. Link's new powers/abilities takes the Legend of Zelda franchise to a whole new level, like Fuse (which allows Link to make stronger weapons and shields) and Ultrahand (which allows Link to create different methods of transportation that allow him to get to certain areas). The game felt somewhat tough at first, but as I got further into the game, the game became easier and it did help that the game became more nonlinear as I got deeper into the game, giving me the option and the chance to explore the game and to not be in a hurry to finish the game.

Great game but poor replayability compared to BOTW
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I thought it was great!! I liked the story and some of the new gameplay editions. I finished it in about 2 weeks post-release. But then I dropped it and I haven’t touched it since once I did beat it. It just wasn’t as good as Breath of the Wild at holding my attention in the post-game. I’ve also had no interest in replaying it, while I’ve replayed BOTW again already. The gameplay loop wasn’t that satisfying for me, but I will say I’ve never been a fan of “make your own fun” games. I don’t like it when it feels like I’m actively fighting the game to try to solve the puzzles because the solution is so open-ended, it makes me overwhelmed by the options and I end up forgetting about game mechanics that would make solving it easier. I got about 150 or so hours out of the game, so it’s definitely worth a playthrough, but I don’t think it should be bought full-price when I can’t bring myself to pick it back up at all.

What An Adventure!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Everything I could have possibly wanted and dreamed of for Breath of the Wild is in this game. BoTW feels like an alpha for Tears of the Kingdom. There’s more plot. There’s something to do over just about every inch of the map. There’re waaaay more quests and subquests… ToTK is unlike anything I’ve ever played before. The sheer creativity at your fingertips, and ability to use that to solve any problem you encounter is insane. I am missing proper length and difficulty dungeons, but at least they approached them better in this game than the Divine Beasts of BoTW. Do yourself a favour and buy this game. You won’t regret it. 9.2/10

TotK - A Great Encore to BotW
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Zelda: Tears of the kingdom is the successor to the incredible Zelda: Breath of the Wild. BotW was ground breaking with its release 5+ years ago and introduced a new style of open world exploration and gameplay to the franchise. TotK brings a lot of that back while also iterating on all the best parts. For a game set in roughly the same timeframe, on the same map, with the same gameplay and characters, one begins to question how “new” the game can actually feel. Despite all the similarities, TotK miraculously manages to deliver on providing that “new” experience. My main criticism comes from the fact that while many new features have been added to the game, I wasn’t quite as awestruck as I was in the opening hours of BotW. In place of BotW’s wonder, TotK brings familiarity—which then expects you to use your creativity to develop opportunities. A successful evolution to the structure of the game. My only other criticism is that the game’s graphics and performance fall just behind what I’d expect from a modern game in 2023. It plays and runs just as BotW did years ago, and coming back to it after all this time left it feeling slow and choppy, and the low res textures really took away from the opening experience. After just a few hours, however, these things start to feel natural once again and don’t continue to take away from the experience. All-in-all, I’m once again addicted to the game and have already logged 30+ hours with many more to come. That being said, I don’t know if I could be convinced to play a 3rd iteration of this game in the future.. I would love to see a return to the original linear story style of Zelda games.

Game of the Year 2023
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is a stunning addition to the beloved franchise, and it undeniably lives up to its hype as a game changer. The most commendable aspect of Tears of the Kingdom is its expansion of the already immersive open-world map established in Breath of the Wild. The seamless integration of new sandbox elements elevates the gameplay experience to unprecedented heights. One of the standout features in Tears of the Kingdom is the way it builds upon the foundation set by Breath of the Wild. The game introduces a plethora of new locations, challenges, and discoveries within the vast open world. This expansion breathes new life into the familiar landscape, ensuring that players will never run out of adventures to embark upon. The sandbox elements incorporated in Tears of the Kingdom are a stroke of genius. Players are given unparalleled freedom to interact with the environment, manipulate objects, and experiment with their surroundings. This level of interactivity not only adds depth to the gameplay but also encourages creative problem-solving and exploration. While the game receives universal praise, it’s important to acknowledge its minor imperfections. The graphics, though serviceable, may appear dated compared to more recent releases. However, it’s worth noting that this does not detract significantly from the overall experience, especially given the game’s rich content and engrossing gameplay. Another aspect worth mentioning is that Tears of the Kingdom feels, to some extent, like an extension of Breath of the Wild rather than a wholly distinct experience. While this may disappoint those seeking a radically different gameplay style, it is important to recognize that the core elements that made Breath of the Wild exceptional are further refined and expanded upon in this installment. In conclusion, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is a remarkable game that successfully builds upon the strengths of its predecessor. The expanded open world, combined with the captivating sandbox mechanics, makes it an absolute delight for both long-time fans and newcomers to the series. Despite its minor criticisms regarding graphics and similarities to Breath of the Wild, Tears of the Kingdom unquestionably stands as a masterpiece that will captivate players for hours on end.

Be prepared to say goodbye to your life
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Be prepared to dedicate 2 months of your life to this game. Just like BOTW, this game is super engaging and honestly addictive. It’s full of exploration and secrets to uncover. The amount of creativity you can have building vehicles and fusing weapons is staggering! My only 2 complaints are: 1. You cannot summon your horse from anywhere like in games like Assassins Creed or Witcher 3 2. The devices you build running out of batteries is kind of annoying. Anyway, this is 100% worth your time and money

Review
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A fantastic lesson on how to reuse assets from a previous game and improve on other features from the previous game,BOTW, tremendously. All AAA companies should take notes from this game. I have clocked over 95hrs at the time of writing and I'm only on my 3rd temple. This game has had my undivided attention when I'm not at work and i heavily appreciate the nods to your past endeavors in botw. The story building so far for me is pretty good but nothing too extraordinary but i love the memories of the past i have unlocked so far. The voice actors really did a phenomenal job in giving their characters personality and emotion. The creativity with the new Zonai devices is something i never would have dreamed to be possible in a Zelda game but is definitely held back by the Switches hardware limitations as i have had major fps issues when driving around a makeshift tank i created, even when playing on my TV. The freedom to build your own house could be suffering from this set back as well as you are limited to 15 rooms, with gardens, stairs, and little ponds also counting towards your max amount. The house creation feature also feels underdeveloped as you cannot color different parts of your house or have windows or even ladders. The sky islands feel amazing to explore with the biggest island being the starting area but you can find Zonai dispensers on the lesser islands too which acts as incentive other than finding shrines too. The depths also are an amzing addition as it expands upon the world even more like the sky islands. The depths offer challenging enemies, secret treasures, and much more and I'm still mapping it all out. Overall, Tears Of The Kingdom is definitely GOTY worthy already and i can't wait to play even more! The only thing aside from the few problems i mentioned previously is the Switch and its hardware. I hope this tells Nintendo they need a massive upgrade in gaming tech. A truly beautiful and fun game!

Sequel That's Better Than Breath of the Wild
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game took the idea of breath of the wild to new level and it's a great sequel. Fusing allows for so many battle possibilities, especially with arrow fusing. The sort by most use is also helpful so you won't have to scroll to the end to fuse or throw thing you use often. Ultrahand is also so much fun and there's so many possibilities for contraptions and so much creativity involved to solve problems, even when fighting certain entities ;) Although Ultrahand can be overpowered so I use it when it looks like I need to build or just to mess around, especially when it comes to rockets haha. You can also build stuff like "No Hypothesis's" perfect hover bike to fly up and down in a nearly straight line or full on "death machines" that can destroy everything that gets in you way lol. There is so much verities in enemies and with different difficulties levels. The story is a lot better and the final boss fight actually feel like a proper final boss fight unlike BOTW where the last phase is a bit lacking. The music tracks are amazing, especially one in the Rito mission (you'll know when you hear :) ). The only small downside is not having an option to use the sages without walking up to them since currently there's a ton of accidental sage usage which is funny, but can also be tiring. Hope they reconsider updating it, even if it's in DLC. Overall it's awesome and I tried giving as much info without too many spoilers, but I recommend getting this game, especially if you enjoyed playing Breath of the Wild like me :D

Spectacular Zelda Game
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have to tell myself to stop playing and take a break from this game. In my opinion it has a good story and pretty good voice acting (no opinion for Zelda, I know thats a sore subject for some). The game looks beautiful, and I’ve only had one stutter in frame rate in about 25 hours of play so far. With the addition of the chasms and (some) sky areas, there’s lots of exploration to be done. I absolutely love it. You should too!

Hooked for the past 3 months!!
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I rarely buy new games but have always been a fan of the Zelda franchise. All my gaming Buddy’s recommended I pick it up, so i did.. The first few hours of play were interesting as I watched the story unravel. At some point Link takes a dive off a ledge from a platform in the sky and the opening title starts rolling as he free falls. My mind was blown realizing those first few hours of play was sheer tutorial! This game is very entertaining and you can get lost in exploration doing almost anything. Link has an ability which allows him to craft and attach almost anything together in game. At first i didnt think much of it and realized thats how you’re going to complete most quests and tasks throughout the game. It’s up to you to overcome any trials and challenges in your way. The best part is the game pushes your imagination to build and craft your way through scenarios involving the elements and physics. Its a solid buy and worth every penny. I have the game for over 2 months and im barely half way through it. It’s that much to do in the game! If you’re on the fence about it, I recommend watching a few videos of gameplay. There are players all over the world building and crafting unimaginable vehicles and structures. For example someone made a mech/gundam. Another player crafted a bat mobile. The list goes on, however im simply enjoying the basic fundamentals of the game. Do yourself a favor, AND PICK UP TEARS OF THE KINGDOM!!!

Fantastic game
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review."The Legend of Zelda" for the Nintendo Switch is an enchanting escape into a beautifully crafted world, illustrating Nintendo's prowess in game design. From the get-go, players are captivated by its mesmerizing landscapes, intricate puzzles, and the freedom to explore every nook and cranny of the vast map. There's a sense of adventure that's raw and pure – a feeling that many games aspire to deliver but only a few achieve. The combat system is intuitive, and the storyline remains engaging without being overbearing. The game brilliantly balances giving players guidance while allowing them ample autonomy, making every discovery feel personal and rewarding. However, there's a slight hiccup, especially for those prone to motion sickness, like myself. Extended play can induce dizziness, a sentiment echoed by a few other motion-sensitive players. It's a minor caveat in an otherwise stellar experience, but worth noting for potential players with similar sensitivities. All in all, "The Legend of Zelda" is an exquisite addition to the Switch library. It's the kind of game that seizes your attention and doesn't let go. A modern classic, it promises hours of exhilaration, but remember to take breaks if you're prone to motion sickness. The world of Hyrule can wait.
