I was a big critic of Breath of the Wild, but all of my major criticisms of that game have been addressed in Tears of thr Kingdom. One of the best open worlds I've seen. Lots to do and see. If you own a Switch, I'd say there's no reason not to get this.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom It is, as of the date this opinion was published, the best exploration and adventure game of at least the last 10 years. It gives you the possibility of passing the game in about 40 hours. or as in my case recording each area of the map about 250 hours. The soundtrack and sound effects are magnificent and immersive never tire. Any fight, dungeon or sanctuary can be approached in multiple ways. Everything related to graphics, mechanics, physics and lighting is perfect, it looks like a Ghigli movie. Regarding performance, it goes constantly at 30 FPS, I never had problems or crashes and it has almost no bugs. The game far exceeds its predecessor and that is saying a lot. It is a safe purchase, if you buy it physical it will never lose its resale or exchange value.

Game of the Century!!! Indescribably immaculate. Fun, thrilling, incredible storyline, gameplay, and game mechanics. Perfect mix of old school Zelda themes and new open world creativity and exploration. Cannot highlight enough just how amazing this game is.

Capitalizing on the success of Breath of the Wild, Nintendo has not only made a great sequel but they also made a phenomenal exclusive for the Nintendo Switch. If you enjoyed playing BOTW, picking this up is a no-brainer even with the increased price point.

This took everything from the first game and cranked it to 11 not only redisigning the land but adding skys and deep below through caves and a chasms the size of the entire map!!! Get it now!!! 50 hours in still not done clearing the main land map.

This is again one of the best zelda games. This is just as good as the breath of the wild and even better. Some of the shrine challenges are harder and the skyview from each tower is simply amazing. Its very captivating and really hard to stop playing once you start it. If you are still thinking about it, stop and purchase this game. Its definitely worth the money

One of the best games on the switch. If you liked Breath of the Wild you will love this game. Everything has improved from the pervious game and this game gives endless exploration. I have played over 90 hours and still have so much more to explore.

I've been playing this almost nonstop since release date. I purposely haven't watched videos and I can never seem to run out of things to do. I feel like the side quests and story are very well done and the depth of exploration is almost unparalleled.

I thought that a return to Hyrule would be more of the same, but I was blown away by all the new mechanics! This is a sequel and considerable upgrade to Breath of the Wild, and though the world is familiar, it is fresh with a new story and abilities.

Great plot and plenty of side quests. The graphics look great for a switch game. There are so many places to explore and quests to do that you can put as many or as few hours into the game and still love the story.

This new Zelda game seems to follow gameplay very similar to the last game in the series, Breath of the Wild. Nintendo has seemed to have taken the formula and improved on it in many ways. My kids are constantly discussing and referring back to the lore, characters, and lands that they encounter. It seems that the main storyline can be played through fairly quickly- but there is more than enough to sidetrack you beyond the main narrative. So to summarize, if you are a Breath of the Wild fan you will really like Tears of the Kingdom. If you prefer LoZ games from prior generations, the open-world may be off-putting or lacking in general direction. If you did not like BotW, this sequel may not hit for you- but be aware that games like this are why you probably bought the Nintendo Switch in the first place.

I didn't get my pre-order bonus, that was a bumer. However, tokt is a great game that allows you to put your creativity to use and build whatever you want. If you just want to play it as a classic zelda game it also allows you to do that.

One of the best games on the Switch and just one of the best games I’ve ever played. Breath of the Wild was already incredible and revolutionary, but this game somehow managed to outdo it in every regard. I was constantly blown away by all the new features and just how much stuff is in this game. Don’t miss it.

Breath of the wild long way back exceeded my high expectations - but Tears of the Kingdom surpass that remarkable standard further. This game is notably stronger in narrative and interaction with the world and its systems

One of the best Zelda games of all time! The building customization alone makes the game replayable over and over again.

The amount of detail and work put into this game is unbelievable. I had high expectations from the first game, and they definitely delivered. Has a great story with soothing graphics and fun gameplay.

I personally love this game, some who didnt like the BOTW formula are not gonna love the sequel, i was also disappointed with the lack of story and not having traditional dungeons with dungeon items for solving the area puzzles. To be fair there is a story but most of it SPOILERS: take place in the past just like BOTW. So it just doesnt push the present moment to any higher stakes currently. There is one instant at the Castle towards the endish but thats it. Overall got 330 hours so far and about to jump back in for the switch 2 upgrade so its one of my favorite recent games. I have a giant bias Zelda is my favorite franchise so grain of salt here.

This game is getting game of the year. The game play and story are amazing. I bough a copy for each of my two daughters for good grades, and they absolutely love it! If you're on the fence just get it. You will not be disappointed.

What a follow up to BOTW, this is probably the best game I’ve ever played!

Undoubtedly superior to the original version in every way. Without spoiling anything, the new "rune" abilities are fantastic (Though I question the need to have the map be included among them when a dedicated button for it already exists). After 30+ hours my only real complaint is that arrow counts aren't shown unless the bow is aimed or the inventory is opened, Rupees and other currencies now require the 'A' button to be pressed to pick them up, and the map being listed with the rest of the "Runes" limits the total amount of "Runes" possible in the game. Other than that, the story so far is better than Breath of the Wild, the controls feel the same or better, enemy variety is better, and the new effects and items address concerns or issues from the previous game. Well worth the $70 price point, don't listen to the whiners online.
