Not classic Zelda but best open world game

It's basically the same as breath of the wild but everything makes more sense in this one with new features like fusing weak weapons into good ones, and it stops me from caring when they break. No classic style dungeons in this one either but it's less of a bummer here with the intro of interesting bosses and theming. After playing the skyward sword switch edition and also assassin's creed odyssey a bunch, I can say this game does very well what those two fail to do. I think it's the perfect open world game. My only issues are it's way too hard (but I think that's to make you want to explore and upgrade), and there's unnecessary lame voice acting so I can't name my character something stupid like stankysack or moneypoo

As a hardcore Zelda fan, I will say this game is an excellent follow-up to Breath of the Wild. I didn't think it was possible, but they pulled it off. This game is so much fun, but at times, it can be a bit of a challenge. This game is so worth buying.

    Best Zelda game

Great game, it's a total improvement on BOTW with darker themes like Majora's Mask and more creativity than any other Zelda game.

Hard To Ratinalize If You Have LOZ:BOTW already.

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Overall the game is fun to play but at the price of $70 and the near same gameplay mechanics and world exploration it's hard to rationalize getting the game if you already have Breath Of The Wild. Some of the new mechanic aspects are neat but after building up Link soo much in BOTW just to have to do it again feels repetitive and at times near annoying. Even with the update patches there are still some framerate issues and pop-ups which is a little annoying at times but not game breaking. Exploration can be fun at times but again if you played BOTW and just starts to feel like a fetch quest to get back all the stuff that was cheaply taken from you at the start of the game. The new abilities also have some issues during game play mostly with the headache of using the camera function controls when using an ability to solve a puzzle or defeat some enemies. Again the game is fun but the asking price of $70 for a game that just felt too close to the game I played a few years back left a bad taste in my mouth. Wait for a sale of the game I suggest as while you get what is advertised as a new Legend Of Zelda game ultimately it doesn't feel like one.

A Sequel Even Better Than the Original

    Posted .

If you enjoyed Breath of the Wild you'll most likely love this one. It improves on most aspects of the original and really stakes its claim as perhaps the most engaging open world experience out right now. Which is no small feat for a game running on hardware that doesn't come close to competing with current next-gen consoles. Just goes to show that gameplay, creativity, and ingenuity will always beat something built entirely around showing off graphic capabilities

    Just play the dang thing

I'll be honest, I completely missed the fact that this game was a direct sequel to Breath of the Wild. I haven't played a Zelda game since Majora's Mask, and I had no idea what I was getting myself into. Still, this game has proven to be one of the greatest experiences, and I am constantly awestruck with the quality. Everything from the world, the game mechanics, and the story has far exceeded any expectations I had.

Great Game -> Even Better Sequel

What a great game, I've already sunk so much time into it but I'm still nowhere near done. While the $10 price increase is a bit annoying as most Switch games are already $60, this game has so much content and things to do that that price point is so worthwhile. Literally, I think I'm going to spend weeks doing things in this game and still not be done. Just like BOTW, this sequel has me on the edge of my seat.

As Close to Perfect as we've seen

No video game is perfect, but this is as close as we've seen recently, and probably one of the best ever. I really dislike Japanese animation and the sexualization of characters and voice acting, but aside from some of that present in the game, everything else is amazing. Massive world to explore, tons to do, and good story line. Especially impressive considering it's on the Switch.

    Must-Play Title for Zelda Fans

TOTK is a worthy sequel to Breath of the Wild, but can be enjoyed as a stand-alone experience. The gameplay, mechanics, and story are all extremely engaging. You will find yourself exploring for hours. If you are looking for a vast world map, interesting abilities, and challenging puzzles, look no further than the Legend Of Zelda, Tears of the Kingdom

    A worthy successor to BotW

An amazing experience that I have trouble putting down. Some novelty is lost from BotW, but you gain so many new opportunities to be creative and make your own path. There is so much to do and, unlike many games, very little of it feels like a slog, partly because you can try to find shortcuts or crazy unexpected solutions to things.

    I’m Obsessed

I’m currently still playing the game, but I just cannot get enough of it! The story is very well done and heart wrenching, and the gameplay and exploration is top notch. Think you already know Hyrule? Think again! On every inch of the map, there’s a new secret begging to be discovered. You’ll never be able to put it down!

Fantastic Game In The Legend Of Zelda Series On The Nintendo Systems. Totally Open Field. Lots To Explore And As You Explore The Areas In The Game The "Fog Of War" Disappears & Lets You See More Of The Areas. Easily To Get Killed Because I usually Explore further out than I should but Totally enjoyable.

When I heard they were making a sequel to Breath of the Wild, it's safe to say I was skeptical. But this game is fantastic! It captures the heart of the original very well. Pre-ordered through Best Buy and it was easy to change when I had to switch from pick-up to delivery.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has surpassed my expectations of a sequel to Breath of the Wild. There's so much to do and explore, it's quite overwhelming at times, which is a good thing. The story is very interesting, and it does connect a lot of Zelda lore.

Best game ever, if you loved BotW, then you will really like this game. My problem is trying not to get distracted by all the different things to do and end up forgetting what my main task was at any given point. Love the me features, abilities, and areas to explore!
