This isn’t a game. It’s an experience. My wife LOVES this game. It is a complete overhaul of BOTW… and that is actually a good thing. Some haters call it $70 DLC… this is akin to calling Sims 4, DLC , for the original Sims game!

I don’t know how Nintendo could take one of the greatest games of the century and make it feel brand new by changing it up. The game still has a lot of core elements from BotW but has plenty of new mechanics that really refresh the game.

I highly recommend this game. It takes what was great about Breath of the Wild and adds innovative physics-based abilities that encourage creativity in solving the many puzzles in the game. A fantastic experience from start to finish.

If you enjoyed BoTW then you should definitely get ToTK. The exploration is improved and the new building system enhances the experience. You have a lot of freedom in problem solving. This includes enemy encounters. I highly recommend it.

This game is just as good as the first, if not better! I definitely recommend picking it up if you can afford it. You don’t have to play the first game in order to play this one, but I recommend it! It’s definitely worth the money!

I’ll preface with saying that I enjoyed BOTW. And while i did enjoy it, I can see that the formula does struggle to carry a new adventure. With these games the ‘temples/dungeons’ really took a dive by watering it down to ‘light puzzle course’ with a boss at the end. I found the adventure to getting to some of these areas more interesting than the ‘temples’ themselves. There are some great set-pieces to their build-up but lost due to how underwhelming these areas are. The underground has lore implications but not much is done with it outside of mining for rocks to feed your battery mechanic, mining rocks for your building mechanic, looking for costumes in chests, and farming monster parts. There is no other reason to explore outside of these things. The new set of tools you have really grant you a lot of accessibility with the ability to craft different contraptions. It’s a nice addition, but given that these things are tied to the battery mechanic, you’ll likely opt for the things that drain your battery at a slower rate. Ultimately mileage will vary here. Quest aren’t very rewarding outside of the ones that grant costumes. There are some nice world building moments but they are sprinkled throughout the many fetch quests you’ll come upon. Caves are also new setpieces that act like mini dungeons, but the rewards aren’t very convincing in keeping you going with exploring them as well. Not enough new things, more of the same so the burnout from repetition may come out faster than expected. I find it difficult to recommend. You’re going through the same process with a few new tools in a slightly more disheveled Hyrule.

Superb, 10/10! I can’t express how amazing this game is, and how much content is in it. The game fixes nearly all of the problems with Breath of the Wild, and expands the world, mechanics, and combat so greatly. This is a true masterpiece.

This game needs no introduction. I have put too many hours to count into this game along with its predecessor. This game is a massive upgrade to the original and I highly recommend it.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom - out does the previous game. the game play is outstanding, the amount of freedom to create has to be experienced to fully appreciate what the developers have brought to this franchise.

[Employee of bestbuy] The game itself is just a great time. Keeping with same world as Breath Of The Wild while bringing in new concepts and core mechanics to give it a refreshing feel. I'd definitely recommend this to all my friends.

I hate this game. Same map with barely any new additions aside from the copy-and-pasted caves and shrines (forget what they're called in this game). The sky adds nothing, and the depths are just an inverted version of the main map with no diversity. It's boring. The story is also worse than Breath of the Wild, which I think is an accomplishment in itself. You had to actually go out of your way to make it worse than that game.

I was skeptical that it would just be glorified DLC for Breath of the Wild. While similar, Tears of the Kingdom truly stands on its own as an incredible tame with just enough new material to make it unique.

I might be one of the few people that prefers BotW to it's sequel. There are some ingenious systems at play here, but the game really shows that the Switch is long overdue for an upgrade. The excellent art design is hampered by the technical limitations of the Switch, making the game look downright ugly at times. And for all the ingenuity of it's physics-based gameplay, most of the game is mired in 6th-7th gen design choices, esp when it comes to the interface. Overall a very good, but highly overrated game.

One of the best games I’ve ever played. If you like BOTW you will love this one even more. It has the same map but the changes are enough to make it feel like a new one. If you wish you could forget BOTW and replay it pick up this game.
