Factory opened set and resealed ? Had finger prints all over disc's. After researching found out they had problems so had to be inspected by manufacturer? Obviously problems with this franchise, reason we ordered these was because our reg brand new dvd copies wouldn't play and froze up so purchased these blu rays ? Must be problems on all versions of these discs ? Never in my life opened factory Sealed dvds or blu rays that had finger prints all over all of the discs brand new ?

This is the THEATRICAL version! Do not buy unless you enjoy watching the same movie for 5+ hours.

I received my copy in a box. However, the cover had wrinkles all over it. I receive films like this from BestBuy.com before in the dreaded pressed cardboard. Fifteen dollars for wrinkles is not worth it.

Not recommend. The quality of the bluray disc is bad. The movies were rescaling to 1080 p from the dvd version. Waste my money and waste my time

It is not the 3 movie set like the cover suggests. It was just one movie. Not all 3

Great movies. Even better on Blue Ray with 4k. Exactly what any thrilled LOTR fan really wants.

If you are at all interested in the act of making films and how they come together, this is one of the best purchases you can make. The three very entertaining, very enjoyable films that this was actually made for almost come across as an afterthought when compared to the twenty-six hours of behind the scenes footage that comes along with it. The Hobbit series has built on this even further, but this is where it all started. Being able to see the love and care that went into the set building, and the amount of effort that went into even the most basic items really takes these films to a completely different level. Whatever flaws they may have, I have to say that these are some of the greatest movies ever made, and certainly among the most well documented.

Timeless Entertainment The Lord of the Rings original trilogy are epic films based on epic books. Last year the original theatric cuts of the films were released on Blu-ray disc. It had been some time since I had seen these films, so I decided to watch The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring. I wanted to see if my fond memories of the film held up after so many years. I watched this film for the first time in theaters back in 2001. When it first released on home media, I purchased it and its two sequels and watched them all many times. At just under three hours, it is a long film, and it actually has an extended version as well. Film fans will be relieved to hear that the Blu-ray version impresses. The breathtaking cinematography and visual effects still rival today’s films and even overshadow some of the recent summer “blockbusters.” This version is the best for first time viewers and long-time fans. Blu-ray disc offers the highest fidelity available for home viewing, and since this version is the same “cut” as originally released, viewers will be able to enjoy this film without being overwhelmed with excessive footage. 9.5 out of 10 arbitrary units.

I had the extended versions of Lord of the Rings on DVD and wanted to get them on Blu-ray. After seeing that the movies were $99+ dollars, i decided to go with the theatrical version. To be honest, I can't tell what scenes are not included. It was not worth the extra money for me to get the long versions. Very happy with my purchase,

I own the theatrical DVD versions. Then I bought the extended collection edition on bluray, and I bought this one because it was a bluray version all in one plus it was $12 at the time. I have no plans to sell the DVD versions. Yeah it's that bad.. that I like these movies so much.

Lord of the rings was always one of my favorite series, to finally own them own blu-ray in one collection is nice, great price too. The only downside is there isn't any special feature besides trailers of old video games.

The movie is really good. Each movie is 3 hours so you might want to get popcorns and sodas before going into a marathon. But I really enjoyed the movie. Definitely would buy the Hobbit next. Copy was really good as well.

This is a great set to have when you just want to watch the theatrical versions of the LOTR trilogy. I also own the extended edition Blu-ray set, but these are not included in that set. Audio and Video are fantastic.
