Blur's first album in more than a decade is a dark, seductive set that cements a legacy.

Just as I'm lamenting the loss of good, original tunes, I find a gold nugget in a pile of dirt! Blur has stood the test of time, and they've shown that they won't be drowned out. "The Magic Whip" is a perfect addition to Blur's very talented catalogue of excellent albums. If you loved Blur in the past, and was wondering if they aged like most bands do, "The Magic Whip" proves that they have kept their roots intact. A great return to British rock, and a welcome piece to my music collection. If this was a cassette tape, I'd have worn it out already! Cheers to you, Blur! Thank you for the generous compliment to my ears!!

It's been a long time since the last Blur album. 12 years, to be exact. But they're back with a new spin on their old sound that was definitely worth the wait. As a side note, this was a title where Best Buy offered online and social media coupons, helping me get the CD for even less than the already low price! It's a smart marketing move to help their customers interact more with the stores and the band.

Damon Albarn puts his many (Gorillaz) many (Rocket Juice & The Moon) many ( The Good The Bad & The Queen) excellent solo projects (oh, yeah, Everyday Robots) on hold to go back to the band that we all fell in love with: Blur. A welcome return.

hand it to Damon Albarn to let Blur come out retirement and deliver an album that while not as poppy as the early 1990's albums, thankfully it isn't 'Think Tank' which in my mind was a disposable album - impressed!

Didn't know if they could pull it off but, they have. Damon Albarn comes full circle and starts his band anew. Doesn't sound especially adventurous though, it does some how manage to sound fresh. Very relaxed effort, that simmers just below boil across the entire track list!

If you loved the old Blur then you will love the new album. Great album full of catchy songs recorded in Japan. Great songwriting and adventurous arrangements. Probably should be 5 stars!

Fantastic album with hints of a new sound. So far it seems to be their most well received album to date. If you are a fan of the Gorillaz as well you can hear some of the undertones within in. "Go Out" and get it! Don't forget to listen to "My Terracotta Heart."

I was worried I'd be disappointed, since I've been waiting over a decade for this album, but it was worth it. The first two tracks are the most "nostalgic," but the rest of the album is varied in style and tone.

Really impressed by Blur's new CD. As a longtime fan, I was skeptical that the band could recapture the past magic, but this album delivers. The more you listen, the better it sounds. It's a shower & a grower.

My wife was the Blur fan not me. Having said that, I found this release to be the best of all their work and enjoyed it a great deal.

As a longtime Blur fan, I couldn't be happier with this album. Ranks among their best in my opinion, includes great tracks like Lonesome Street, Go Out, I Broadcast, There Are Too Many Of Us and Ong Ong.

Once again, true artistry with this album. Seems like every album is different in a great way. Much like Radiohead

Lot of Asian touches, as mostly recorded in Hong Kong. I Wish I was a Spaceman is super cool and quirky.

This might just be the best Blur album ever. It was well worth the long wait. The 2nd half of the album is just as impressive as the 1st, which is a rarity.

This is the first Blur album with Graham Coxon since 13 in 1999. In the interim, the band members have kept busy with Blur albums not including the original lineup, as well as solo projects. The Magic Whip is a solid Blur album, but not great enough to likely blow away someone who isn't already a fan of the band.

Blur's new record combines their old Brit-pop with their latter arty sound.
