Both of these games are fantastic. Not sure how well it’s aged visually but the gameplay is well done. Frame rate is stable and upgrades to the PS5 removes performance issues. The ability to create your own personal avatar is an unexpected joy. Have 2B as heroine keeps me motivated in any game

I cant emphasize enough how much i love this franchise. I have about 500 hours split between the two games. Very steep initial learning curve but there are guide online to get you started if you are having a ton of trouble (like i did). Nioh 1 has deep customization for skills and combat. Nioh 2 improves in every aspect of the first game. The first game has the better story bit both stories are interesting. 10/10 recommend

[Employee of bestbuy] 2 classic games remastered for the PS5. Although they suffer from balance issues, outdated hub design, and weird hit detection....the combat and speed mixed with the combo/build options is staggering. Outside of From Software, no other company provides this experience. I will even say Nioh provides more diverse gameplay although it can be very complex and off putting to newcomers who think the combat is mote straight forward. I will say the learning curve is high, but once you get there...you might even say the combat is better than Fromsoftware titles.

If you are a fan of souls games like dark souls, demon souls, sekiro and elden ring then this is the game for you. The beginning is tough but once you get the hang of the combat and the tools of the trade everything will just click. All of the DLC is on the disc no voucher codes to worry about.

The Nioh 1+2 collection has the DLC and whether you get it on sale or full price these games are fun. The combat is great, the bosses fun and well designed along with the dungeons and maps. Fantastic set of games especially for the price.

Both games here are remastered with high fidelity, tons of customization options, deep endgames and lots to keep you busy. I love Nioh 1, one of my favorite PS4 titles and something I've plunked almost 500 hours into. It's represented here perfectly and I love it. Nioh 2 is a technical improvement on Nioh 1. The level design is much improved, the endgame is expanded, the weapon and combat systems are improved. That's where it ends. The story is lackluster and a custom silent protagonist is boring. Lots going on here with historic Japanese figures and magic/mythology and your silent gimp is shoehorned into the story. The annoying, frustrating 'challenging' mechanics are turned up to 10 here and it always overshadows any great moments the game creates. Hey, remember how awesome it is to have one or two snipers on an unreachable ledge pelting you while you are trying to melee and enemy on the ground? How about that 5 times in a mission? On every other mission? Who thought that would be a good idea? This exact setup is probably run 100 times over the course of the main campaign. How awesome is it to have a red haze over the zone, enter a dark realm which further muddies the graphics, and have barely discernible water hazards randomly strewn on the ground? Why can't our superhuman protagonist swim? Why does every other map have this? I love dying because I'm not squinting at the screen to see a 1 foot diameter puddle. You know what doing the advanced dojo missions 10-20 times on cheap bosses told me? The 'hard' bosses in Nioh 2 don't develop and overarching understanding or your weapon talents, stance switching or any of the available complex mechanics Team Ninja put in. It teaches you to study minute frame count and AI quirks to exploit a boss in a cheap and simple minigame of who can cheese who. Or go level and come back when it's not overtuned. Nioh 2 is cheap, cheap, cheap and muddies what could have been a phenomenal next gen holdover until more games come out. Consider this a great Nioh 1 remaster with some half baked Team Ninja product tacked on.

Best ‘Soulslike’ Plus Team Ninja Combat

The Nioh games are probably the best ‘Souls likes’ that are NOT developed by From Software. This is mainly because Nioh captures all of the challenging and rewarding feels of a proper From Soft Dark Souls game with a touch of that signature Team Ninja action combat and style found in games like Ninja Gaiden 2: Black. In fact, I picked up this collection while it was on sale because Ninja Gaiden 4 was just announced. If you love challenging action RPGs or the Dark Souls and Ninja Gaiden Black games then you’ve gotta check out the Nioh collection. It’s truly a must for hardcore action RPG fans.

I played both of these on PS4 and bought them again in this collection on PS5. You get both Nioh 1 and Nioh 2 along with all the DLC for each so this is great value. Plus the games now run at 4K/60fps on PS5. You'll get hundreds of hours out of it. I think any fan of the souls games like Demon's Souls, Dark Souls, or Bloodborne will enjoy this but these are difficult.

I have already bought the original versions on PS4, but this version has graphics upgrades giving many options up to 120fps. These are two very good games that follow in the tradition of Ninja Gaiden with a bit of Souls thrown in. These are not easy games, but they are not impossible. They are excellent games that are very fun to play.

Nioh is one of those games, that you either love or hate in my opinion. I happen to love them. Think Dark Souls as a Samurai in feudal Japan. Not for the faint of heart as the difficulty can be a challenge at times, but if you're into the "souls" type games, this remastered collection of Nioh for PS5 hits a home run!

This game is like playing a combined veersion of Ninha Gaiden and Dark Souls, that includes the difficulty of both franchises as well... in a good way. All the dlc and patches are on both discs, I wish more collections were released in this manner.
