His name's Cee-Lo... Not Gnarles Barkley!

Some people have made it through the last 14 years without ever knowing the name "Cee-Lo." Just like "Hootie" from Hootie and the Blowfish, Cee-Lo probably is known to the casual listner as "Gnarles Barkley." But for those in the know, Cee-Lo has been singing since 1994 with the Goodie Mob and also Outkast. Never getting the commercial success he deserved after 2 solo albums, he hooked up with DJ Danger Mouse and produced "St. Elsewhere." From that Platinum album, everyone in the world knows the song "Crazy." Now, with the follow up album "The Odd Couple," Cee-Lo and Danger Mouse have created an album as interesting to listen to as "St. Elsewhere," but have been able to pump out more songs that stick in your head with out being over produced for radio listeners. On "The Odd Couple," Cee-Lo reminds those listeners that have been here since 1994 that he remains as one of the mose creative minds in music, and for those who know him as Gnarles Barkley, he just continues on with chart topping hits! This album is a must buy for anyone who likes singing along and dancing even if the radio is off. In the silence of everyday life, these songs will be echoing in your head! (I eagerly await the Goodie Mob reunion album for more Cee-Lo!)

    Another Great Gnarls Barkley Album

Once again, Gnarls Barkley does it again with their second album "The Odd Couple." As always, the group does a great job incorporating different genres together into their sound. And Cee-Lo's voice is soulful and perfect. All songs are great, but my favorites are Surprise, Charity Case, and Run (I'm a Natural Disaster). My only complaint about this album (as well as their previous album, St. Elsewhere) is that it's way too short! Grated they added an extra minute or two from the last full album, but it's still under 40 minutes long!
