I bought it on a deal of the day for about $20, and for the price it's great. The campaign is short, probably 8 hours or so, and the best way to describe it is an interactive story. There are parts where you'll just walk around and interact with some objects, and there are parts where it becomes the Victorian style shooter that it was marketed as. It tries to be a little of everything, which may have been it's downfall. Still I would play it again for sure.

I have been looking for a game to show off on PS4, and while it looks really good with lots of detail and atmosphere, it's really boring, slow and kind of not fun. I've heard lots of others say they like the story, but I think it isn't all that interesting. It's also not worth keeping; it's short and you can complete it in a couple of sittings. Might be worth a rent, or buy if it gets really cheap.

Great graphics not too many action. The game is very sloppy and the actions take too long to start getting us on board...

This is a sweet game. Graphics and all are just beautiful. Beautiful story line as well. Good to see someone concentrate on single campaign other then online

It's different from normal games but good if you are in the mood for something a little less involved. It's pretty short and has lengthy cut scenes. A lot less gameplay than average but still enjoyable.

This game could have been better then it was. The graphics were great, the story was ok, but there is no replay value.

By far, the best looking game you will find on a console as of now. Unfortunately that's where the value ends. I played the game on hard and completed it in around 8 hours. 5 and half of those hours are spent on cutscenes. Once finished, there is nothing to go back to do. No multiplayer, no new game+. RENT ONLY!!!

Only about 10 hours of gameplay it seemed to be. No online play which was disappointing. Story was pretty good though

The only people I would suggest getting this game would be people who want to play an interactive movie. That is this game in a nutshell. The game's graphics are really impressive, but it feels like you are mostly watching a movie interspersed with a videogame shooting gallery. It is a popcorn movie on your Playstation that lasts about 6-8 hours. It makes a better rental than purchase.

This is one of the best games yet for the PS4. The graphics are top notch and the story is addicting. I'm an older gamer and this one has impressed me.

There is no denying how great this game looks while playing, but with fairly standard, though fun, gameplay and little reason to play though the story more than once, I think it's best as a rental.

It's only about 8 hours long, but it doesn't feel too short. After about the first hour, the game is pretty solid.

This was a game I've been waiting for since the ps-4 launched. Visually it has to be one of the best games ever made. Truly stunning graphics. Gameplay was great but storyline cut scenes drug on.

I had a blast with this game. Wish it was longer. Lots of QTE's. Like a 10-hour movie. Very awesome. Very compelling. Maybe not for everyone, but it's good entertainment. Solid shooting mechanic.

I highly recommend everyone to sign up for Deal of the Day notifications. This is a game I wanted to play but not at full price. It get's marked down to $20 and I'm all over it. Well worth it!

I know The Order 1886 hasn't been received well since it's release, but it's important to make sure you have the right mindset before starting the game. The developers at Ready At Dawn wanted to give the player a cinematic movie experience with their game and in that sense, they've perhaps even surpassed the bar they set for themselves. Powerful characters, engaging story, atmosphere, sound design and of course, insane graphics - this game truly draws you in all aspects of a 8-10 hour journey. This is not one of those games you rush through - you have to stop and take in all the sights and details. You have to delve deep into the mythos and intricacies of the story and era. If you are rushing towards the end, then you are simply doing yourself a great disservice. The gameplay is your standard "Gears of War" affair, with cover used heavily and nothing really innovative or ground-breaking on this front. However, something I absolutely loved was the weapon design. Firing the arc cannon or triple barrel shotgun - a sight to behold, especially when you see the aftermath on your adversaries. The time invest into simple things such as the reloading mechanism into each of the weapons shows you the thought and care they put into making this game. Heck - even the lock-picking mini-games were fun to look at. I want to give The Order 1886 my highest support for what they were able to achieve with this game - especially as a new IP and the first console game from Read At Dawn. I eagerly await the next installment of the series (hopefully), especially given all the groundwork they've laid with The Order 1886. Truly a great cinematic gaming experience and an impressive display of the power of the PS4.

I don't know why people hated on this game. The game is beautiful and has such a beautiful story. It was a must have foe me and should be for you too

games like this are why you buy a PS4! Awesome game play, graphics, story. Don't let the fact it's a linear playing game fool you, it's a AAA game!

This game plays like a movie, be ready for long cutscenes as they account for probably 2.5 hours of this 9 hour game. Great story, fun gameplay, but not too much to come back to for a replay.
