As soon as the surprise announcement dropped, I had to preview the album. My initial response was that most of the songs sounded strange to my ears. I listened to it a couple of more times, and now, I can't stop. You've got everything from the crazy Sunny D to the beautiful Roman Sky to Neil deGrasse Tyson. Come on. Can't wait to hear these songs live.

I am a long time fan of A7X and my boys continue to deliver with something that feels fresh but still has that A7X sound. This album is by far better than the last one, Hail To The King. If you're into A7X you won't want to miss out on this one. 08. "Higher" is my favorite track and 11. "Exist" really takes you on a journey through a cosmic space and time, Enjoy Avenged fans, this is a must have !

Long time A7X fan and this album came out of now where. The style is completely different than different albums, dont expect the usual Avenge. The worst thing about this though, is the sound quality. I have every Avenged album and they are crystal clear, except this one. Its very bad in the audio department.

As always the musicianship puts them in their own class. they try to get a little more artistic by making a concept album and for the most part it works. The album starts off great and loses some momentum halfway through, but all in all another great album from a great Hard Rock / metal group

4.5 stars. It's a bit different from the other A7x cds. If you're not a fan of this cd, listen to the entire cd again. Some of the songs make you think about what's going on in the world. It's not my favorite cd that they've done, but its still good. Definitely worth buying if you are a fan.

First, I don't think you'll be disappointed in this concept album if you're a true Avenged Sevenfold fan. This album has some hidden jewels in it and some that are just ok. All in all, 4 star. I was definitely pleased with the album but some songs lack luster while others are very good.

Not what I expected? Not real sure what i was expecting. Kinda different spin with the amount of keyboards used throughout this disc. The first and last tunes have got to be my favorites. The Stage is so well written from beginning to end. it just kicks. As does Exist.

As a big fan of their previous albums I really enjoy The Stage. The band has continued to add new & old techniques to create a new sound but stays true to their style. With Brooks on the drums they sound close to the original A7x then ever before! Overall great album with one of the best songs I've heard this year (maybe the last few years) "The Stage"!

The Stage is a much better album than the previous album (Hail to the King), which was pretty abysmal in comparison to previous Avenged Sevenfold albums. They definitely went back to more of their previous which was made great in albums like City of Evil or Nightmare.

First of the music is great. The only problem is it's so quiet you have to crank the system up so far to get a decent sound. Yes it's almost as bad as chinese democracy in that regard. great music though

I really enjoy the new sound the A7X has on this album. It took a few listenings to get used to more than just 1 or 2 songs, but once I listened to the album over and over again I really grew to enjoy virtually every song. I like the concept of astronomy that was used in this album. I recommend this album to new and old fans of A7X fans.

I am not sure how Avenged Sevenfold puts out albums never sound the same but they did it again with The Stage! The title track, The Stage, clocks in at around 8 minutes but it does not feel like it is that long of a song! It flows well and you can never go wrong with a song that has two guitar solo's in it! This is a must for A7X fans!!

I was really intrigued when I heard that Avenged Sevenfold were releasing this CD sort of last minute to defy conditional release processes. I don't think it's their best CD, but it's still very good. My favorite tracks are "Sunny Disposition" & "Exist."

I dunno if this is really "prog metal," but I do know that it's pretty solid. Plus, like Hail to the King, it doesn't sound so ridiculously loud and compressed like most of their records, which is a big plus in today's loudness war-infested industry.

I am a huge fan of Avenged Sevenfold, and their new album did not disappoint. It is yet another new sound by the band that took me a few listens to really get in to, but now I love it. My favorite album of theirs is still the self titled album, really love the sound there. But this is still a must have for any fan.

A good album compared to Hail to the King, which I couldn't stand. This album's first half is great but it's the second half where things go downhill. Overall it's just nice to hear avenged sevenfold sound like avenged sevenfold again.

Avenged Sevenfold went above and beyond with this one. Killer songwriting, so moving and deep. Lots of dynamics. Some of Shadows's best singing. Syn really tears it up as well. Definitely different than their prior catalog, but well worth every penny. I hope this album is looked back upon as legendary.

I have always been an A7X fan, but really did not like Hail to the King album. At all. Nice follow up to that album with "The Stage" The fellas start mixing up styles again like they did in the old days. Much more to my liking.

Everything about this album is perfect. The musicality, the meaning behind it, the timing and delivery of the album.. It's just so different and real in every way. They are going above and beyond with how to change things up for everybody in this industry. Can't wait to see some of these songs live!

Avenged Sevenfold has been my favorite band for many years. At first the album seems strange and unlike anything they had ever done before, but after a few listens you really get into it and realize how awesome it really is.
