Surprisingly, one of the best soundtracks in years
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I don't buy a lot of soundtracks, and while I generally have a high opinion of Mark Snow's work on the X-Files series and the first movie, I confess at times I have thought he was overrated. No so here. Much to my surprise, this is one of the most beautiful scores I've ever heard, and most of the tracks hold up extremely well to regular listening outside of the film itself (a particular standout that comes to mind is "The Surgery"). Mark Snow has truly outdone himself here - especially for fans of the franchise, who I think should agree that he has really captured the best part of its essence.
