I listened to this CD and instantly liked it. Maybe because it has some pretty awesome members in the group?

    Awesome Music!!

This is a CD for all ages... A great example of three guys putting their egos aside and writing and playing great music together. You can hear each other's influences as well as their own influences in each of the songs on this CD. A bit of QOTSA at times due to the vocals. A little bit of Bowie, a little bit of Cream, a little bit of early Floyd, a little bit of 60's R&B all woven together for an interesting sound all of its' own. I hope that the extra tracks left off of this one become TCVs II... Loved the artwork with the CD and liner notes. Just wish each track would have included information as to who played what, etc...

The Last 40 Years of Music All on One Album

If the last 40 years of music were parents, this would be the baby. Everything from Cream, Zeppelin, David Bowie, Traffic, and MC5 up to modern music such as the obvious Foo Fighters and Queens of the Stone Age are all heard on this album. Each song is a unique treat. "No One Loves Me" is straight out of the Zeppelin II playbook. "Mind Eraser, No Chaser" feels like the perfect clash of radio friendly Foo Fighters getting off the beaten path like the Queens of the Stone Age. The best song on the album is "Scumbag Blues". You would swear Cream wrote and performed this song in 1968. Homme does a great job with his vocals, singing in three different styles throughout the album. Grohl has the most inspired drumming of his entire career on this album with incredible time signatures, and John Paul Jones lays down one of the greatest keyboard tracks (yes, keyboard!) I have ever heard on Scumbag Blues. Well well worth it. Second best album of the enitre year, next to Cosmic Egg by Wolfmother.

    I couldn't even imagine

One of the freshest sounds I've heard in a long time - and the CD spans several genres - from flat out hard rock - to driving tunes - to a funky blues jazz - entering into the psychedelic before floating back. Definitely buy it and take the FM/AM button off your radio (you don't need it anymore and I hear you can sell them for a dime) My hears won't stop thanking me for the purchase

A friend told me this was coming out and I thought "that might be pretty good". I gave TCV a listen and loved it. It feels familiar enough that you're comfortable mixing it with your other favorites but has some moments that just shine. Elephants - one of my favorite tracks ever. Scumbag Blues - Excellent. This is a disc of three guys that still love making music and you can tell they're having fun with it.

    Not Bad, Not Great

As I see it, this CD started out as an excuse for Dave Grohl and Josh Homme to hang out with John Paul Jones and record some of their favorite zeppelin riffs...good idea. But somewhere along the way someone said, "hey, let's right some lyrics and put out a cd". Bad idea. There is a reason why bands spend years playing in garages and small bars before you ever hear them on the radio...this album sounds like it just came out of the garage, and probably should go back in. One of the biggest problems, in my opinion, is that they are coming from too many directions to record this and what they have doesn't seem to work together. I usually love anything that Dave Grohl does, but this is the exception...along with Probot, Harlingtox AD, and helping Juliette Lewis and the Licks. However, there also comes a point when you have to actually listen to the music before you start raving about how great it is.

You gotta be kidding me! Another project of Homme's that is kick-tail. The preview song is saweet. This'll be one helluva album. Pick this up before you pick up grandma, she'll understand. I'll be sitting up nights waiting for the vinyl to drop.

Its awesome to see JPJ show his rock skills 30 years after Zeppelin, and even better to see its with Homme and Grohl. I saw TCV at ACL and they definately blow eardrums with an energetic set. This album is a must have

IF YOU LIKE FOO FIGHTERS AND THE QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE GET READY TO ROCKET LOOSE WITH THIS GROUP. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE FIRST SONG " NO ONE LOVES ME AND NEITHER DO I" THE LYRICS ARE JUST AS COOL AS THEY ARE FUN.

Excellent rock album that has the obvious influences (Queens of the Stone Age, Foo Fighters/Nirvana, and Led Zeppelin) but manages to move forward in a new direction for all three members of this supergroup.

    Nothing To Crow About

If you like the Queens of the stone age this will NOT disappoint. However if you're looking for a Led Zep / Foo Fighters mash up up turn away. There are some bright spots but there's way too much filler. I guess all things considered it could have been worse. The playing is great. The songs just seem to go nowhere. I wanted this to be a GREAT album and maybe the start of something new, maybe my expectations were a little too high for something that was thrown together in a short short period of time.

    Them Crooked Vultures (Album)

This is basically a QotSA Album. Josh Homme's wailing voice is prevalent. If you want to get this album because you are a Led Zeppelin or Foo Fighters Fan, do not, you will be disappointed. This literally sounds nothing like Led Zeppelin or Foo Fighters, it sounds almost exactly like Queens of the Stone Age. If you like them, this should be fine, but don't think it's good just because Dave Grohl is in it.

There is not a bad track on the album. Fills the void looking for a good new Queens of the Stone Age CD or Foo Fighters CD.
