My son-in-law who is in his late 40s was very pleased to receive this gift of a Therabody-Theragun Prime. He plans to use it, as well as his HS athlete son!

As a first-time user of Theragun, I did not know what to expect but I have mostly a positive impression of it. It is obviously well constructed, and a great deal of thought went into the shape, allowing for ease of use in just about any position you can find. It is a bit heavier that I thought it would be, so I need to take a break with the grip in certain positions. I have used it for a maximum of about 20 minutes at a time, and they claim the battery life is a couple of hours, so I cannot speak to that claim. It has two interchangeable heads, and I find the bigger one to be the minimum size for my taste. I briefly tried the smaller one, and it was just too concentrated in a small spot to be a relief - it was painful to me. I would have preferred a larger second head to be used in more sensitive areas. The app is straightforward, and it has much more functionality than I would ever use, but some may find it fits their needs. I would rather it be more complete and not use all the things it offers rather than the other way around. It has multiple speeds, but for me, the slowest speed feels the best. Your mileage may vary. It also comes with cards (a relief for those of us who like things in writing versus on-line) to help you with the various things it can do. I am still experimenting with them and with different speeds and pressures. The biggest negative I have is that it does not have a carry /storage case, so I am checking online to see if someone offers a generic one. As I gain more experience, I will come back and report, but for now, I recommend this unit, even if you are a beginner.

Get Gen 5 or Plus

This 6th feels solid and seems to run a little quieter. However, the lack of accessories do nit make it worth it. The Gen 5 came with 4 attachments, a case and a charger with a plug. The prime plus comes with 3 attachments and a case. This 6th gen comes with 2 attachments and a USB chord. Add in that attachments are $25 a piece and a case is $30 (off brand Therabody does not make a case for the 6th gen) the cost isnt justified. Better to just pay the extra and get the extra features of the plus or save some money and get the extra attachments and case of the Gen 5.

Great massager but on the bulky side

Like my title says, this is great to use if you are looking for a portable massager. However, it can be a bit bulky for using on your own if trying to reach your back. It can also feel a bit rough first few times using.
I like that right out of the package you get a few cards that show what to do and how long it should take. Or you have an option to connect to Bluetooth for more options for more custom routines.
When I was first using, it was a bit intense even with the lowest setting. But I felt a lot better after I used it. It is a USB-C to charge and comes with a cord but no wall plug for it.
My only gripes for myself was that this was hard to use for my back on my own and it can feel heavy after a while of holding.
My biggest use has been for my legs. being that I am holding it from above, the weight was not as much a factor like it was when doing arms and holding it sideways.
I like that it also has a pressure sensor built in to let you know how much pressure you are applying.
I highly recommend getting this, and even more so if you find yourself sore and a massage helps. What I love most is that I can use this were ever I want. I am not limited to one spot.

Theragun Prime (6th Gen)

So I just received my new Theragun Prime (6th Gen) percussion massage gun a few days ago and have been using it since my recent slip and fall coming downstairs in my slick socks and landing on my left leg. This Theragun Prime arrived at the perfect time as my left leg has been sore for several days. Therabody is a brand name that has been around for a long time and consumers have come to love their amazing products as well as the benefits from such products.
Inside comes the following:
* Theragun Prime (6th Gen)
* Dampener Ball (preinstalled)
* Standard Ball
* USB-C Charging Cable
* Upper, Lower, & Full Body Recovery Demo Cards
* Relieve Back Pain Cards
* User Manual
I absolutely love massage guns and already own 2 other massage guns from other manufacturers. Both of which has like 8 different attachments each. Now don't get me wrong they both work great, but I really love the simplicity of the Theragun Prime. It comes with only 2 different attachments, but they're both good for your whole body instead of needing all those separate attachments which can get confusing at times. Right off the bat after unboxing everything, I looked at the packaging and love how Therabody used the inside of the main box to explain to consumers the difference between the Dampener Ball and the Standard Ball. Also printed on the box is the Quick Start Guide and a QR Code to download the Therabody app from the App Store for iOS or the Google Play Store for Android. Once you get setup in the app you're good to go. This massage gun is great to use after workouts to help your body recovery faster and get on with your day. Or it can be used from day-to-day for usual aches and pains. The included Upper, Lower, Full Body and Back Pain Recovery Cards are a nice touch on Therabody's part, as they demonstrate how to use the Theragun on certain parts of the body and also identifies which ball to use. This has become my favorite massage gun amongst the others that I already own. This thing is simply amazing and can help with getting to sleep faster. I recommend anyone looking for an easy ergonomically to use massage gun to purchase one of these Theraguns, your body thank you.

Theragun Is Therapeutic

[PROS]
Considerate Design: Using the Theragun is quite easy. The ergonomics are great because I'm able to comfortably grip the device regardless of my target area. It's constructed with a smooth rubber texture that makes it nice to hold even if my hands are very sweaty. The device is also convenient to charge with the embedded USB C port. My last highlight would be the 5 speeds which allows my wife to use it as well without issue.
Muscle Relief: With the new year, I've been increasing the amount of strength training that I do and the Theragun Prime comes in handy. I mostly find myself using it after workouts on my arms and legs. I've been impressed by the immediate relief that I get even within a few minutes of usage. As expected, I'm usually very sore the next day, but the Prime does an excellent job of helping to alleviate my pain in the mornings.
Tech Implementation: I did need some guidance upon using the device and the Coach by Therabody app did just that. First and foremost, its free which I'm extremely happy about in this pro-subscription society we live in. I was able to connect my Theragun and hop right in upon sign up. The app guided me with helpful tips and instructions on how and where to use the device based on different scenarios. Overall, I was completely impressed by the intuitiveness of the app.
Battery Life: The device is rated for two hours, and I've come close it after moderate use.
[CONS]
Lack of attachments: This version of the Theragun Prime falls into the middle tier among their other products. Because of its landing spot, its not as robust with attachments and other accessories as their most premium product.
[CONCLUSION]
The Theragun Prime is an excellent recovery device and companion for any active individual. It's simple to use and to get started with for sessions. I carry it with me to gym all of the time because I know that I'll need it after intense workouts.

Useful and Powerfully Handy

TLDR: FDA Registered Massage Gun, FDA Registered, USB-C wire supplied for recharges, percussive, 2 hour per Li-Ion battery charge, 5 speeds, 2,400 percussions per minute on high speed, triangle handles allows reach to more areas, optional app allows recovery plans, either Ball or Dampener contact points, quiet motor, ruggedized exterior and corners, Model TG0004350-1A10, weighs 2 lbs, 1 year warranty. No wall adapter supplied to charge.
The Theragun Prime 6th generation (TP6) is a hefty device that allows holding it in several areas to reach sore points due to the triangular design of the handle. With this configuration one can use it without the usual strain on the wrist or arms for slightly longer time before needing to take a break; that is per my opinion of course.
With the triangular shape it is comfortable touse to massage lower back, hips, the backs of legs and other spots that would be awkward and possibly painful to reach with simple “gun shaped” or wand held devices. The firm indicates there is less wrist strain with the triangular shape of the handle.
There are 5 speed settings indicated by a row of 5 LED points on the top of the percussion section. The lowest to the highest with the lowest being very good and I assume as one gets acclimated to using and the device and the relief it offers other higher speeds will be tried.
It arrives with 2 contact heads that actually do the percussive hitting of your sore spots. They securely attach and work differently but effectively. Honestly, either one is good for my use. Also included are several cards with illustrations to assist in using the TP6 to best effect.
The exterior is a grippy rubberized casing with all corners of the triangular shape reinforced with extra thickness. The firm supplies a video on their website showing that even if dropped from a 10 foot distance it will not be damaged. It does make an oscillating humming sound when in use but over time this will be acclimated to and won't be too annoying for most users.
I charged it up using my USB phone chargers I have in 2 rooms. It arrived almost fully charged since the charge activity LED went out in less than an 20 minute time span. Therabody supplies a USB C to USB C wire. The firm claims the charge lasts for 2 hours of use. I would not dispute that but I have not used it for 2 hours continuously. I find it offers relief from soreness and muscle ache in minutes when I use it. My wife also says it is beneficial the next day after she takes a cycle class or one of the strength classes at our local large fitness resort gym.
The TP6 also offers a free app called Access Coach by Therabody which allows a user to input desired recovery goals, your health date and what activity the user engages in to formulate a recovery plan using the TP6. It connects to the TP6 via bluetooth.
It offers a soothing massage on low; I have tried the faster settings and they also work but I prefer the low setting. I use the Dampener contact attachment over the Standard Ball since it is wider and has a greater contact area.
I recommend it to anyone seeking some muscle soreness relief.

Small upgrades makes it better

Having owned two previous Theraguns, I can say the 6th Generation Prime has small but nice upgrade. The first thing I noticed is how much smoother the percussion feels; it doesn’t have that "rattle" some of the older models had. It actually feels more powerful, also the handle is thoughtfully designed. Durable design feels like it can handle daily use without a problem (with longer usage) , and the triangle grip remains the best in the game for reaching your own back. The size is perfect—not too bulky, but substantial enough to feel high-quality. Add bonus is the app and the flash cards that come with Theragun. Teaches you how and where to use the Theragun for best results. I typically use the this in the morning to “wake” my muscles up and after I work out. I want to make sure the blood flows in the areas I just worked out. One bad thing about this Theragun turning it off. You have to hold down the power button for a few seconds but sometimes its hard when its on full power. If you're looking to upgrade, this is the one.
