I bought this for my wife for christmas because she suffers from back pain and this absolutely alleviates some of her pain. She swears this is an amazing tool for getting deep into those muscles and deep tissue penetration. MUST BUY and worth EVERY PENNY!

Made the mistake of buying it. My thoughts were buy the best there is and how could I complain. Well, I am positive this is a great product for the right person and the right situation. But this isnt just a everyday use for just anyone product this is basically a medical grade professional product in my opinion. It can bruise your skin and actually cause pain. Not for your average mom and pop giving each other back rubs.

ITS A MUST BUY BEST THERMAGUN I BOUGHT SO FAR!!!!!

This is my second Theragun percussion massager and I really saw a huge benefit from the original one that I had. This updated version is a huge improvement. It now offers 5 different speed levels, three levels of heat, and its much quieter than my original model. I mainly use this on my right shoulder area and the triangle design allows me to easily grip it and hit that area by myself. The added heat has made a big difference, and it does feel really good after a session. The powerful 16mm percussive movement with up to 40 lbs. of force can really help work out knots that you may have. You are given a travel type carrying case that is not a hard backed case, but I think it does provide sufficient protection for this device. It also holds the included attachments (Heated percussive attachment, Dampener, Standard Ball, and wedge). With up to 150 minutes of battery life, this is something that you can easily take with you anywhere you go and it will assist in recovery from a work out or may assist in relieving some chronic pain that you may have as it does with my chronic pain. The device is also very well built and feels very premium. The USB-C charge port makes it simple to charge it with your phone charger so that is one less thing I have to carry around. This model is also compatible with other Theragun attachments. I am looking forward to purchasing the optional attachments to try them out, there is a Cold therapy one, a Vibration, thumb, and micro-point for targeting of different muscle groups. As I am writing this, the App is not updated to include this model so I can’t speak to that but from what they are promising, it will offer guided wellness routines, track usage just to name a couple of things that it will be offered. This is one of the few things that I can truly give a 5 star review for, it simply works great while offering a premium design and build.

The Prime Plus is a great iteration on the massage gun, and the app and Bluetooth integration is pretty impressive. It comes with an intimidatingly thick manual, but thankfully it’s because it includes a bunch of regulatory declarations and a ton of languages, so there is really only six pages that pertain to operating the massager. Battery came about half full and took less than an hour to fully charge. Both the build quality and design are excellent. The weight is very evenly distributed and the signature triangle Theragun design provides a lot of options to hold the massager. The one weak point in the design is the placement of the power button. It should have been placed far off-axis of the percussive motion. The button is placed almost directly in-line with the motion, which fights your thumb as you try to hold down the button to power down. If you’re not very deliberate and forceful, the button gets repeatedly vibrated into a non-pressed state. It also occasionally rattles, and I worry a bit about the longevity of the button internals being a potential failure point. (Powering on/off is not a problem if you’re not using the app to control the massager; but if you’re using it standalone, you have to use the button.) The biggest weakness in the design is the same as with nearly all rechargeable devices these days: the battery is not removable. Once the battery health is gone, the device is no good. Given the price of this massager, that’s not a small drawback. The Prime Plus has more than enough power for my needs, as I’m pretty cautious when it comes to percussive massagers, so I keep usage to a minimum in both power and duration. The lowest intensity is generally enough for me. Of the four included heads, I prefer the dampened head, but the heated head will definitely be useful at times. It impressively warms to the desired heat setting pretty much immediately after clicking the button. I think the battery is sized far beyond any reasonable expectation. I had used the massager for five minutes daily through a couple of routines at five minutes for about a week, and the battery only drew down to about 40%. I was running it at the lowest intensity, and I was also careful to not use any pressure on the head. Your mileage will vary, depending on the intensity, duration, and whether you use the heated head, but I think the battery is more than big enough. The app (the Android version) is well executed, and I encountered any bugs. The UI is clean and intuitive. Thankfully, there’s a battery gauge in the app which reports the percentage. (The LED on the massager changes color from green to blue to orange then blinking orange for full, half, low, and very low.) The built-in routines are definitely useful for people who aren’t familiar with percussive massagers, but on the face of it it’ll also be useful for people who are familiar with them but want to better address something specific in a comprehensive list of athletics-specific warm-up and recovery use cases. I guess in reality it all depends on how well each of the routines are designed. They target different purposes: warm-up, recovery, pain relief, relaxation, and even things like “travel.” There’s a useful set of filters to narrow down a very lengthy set of routines. I focused on a few for pain, and they seemed to be decently designed. Once you start a routine in the app, it starts the massager and plays through a video guide as the massager is running that illustrates where on your body to point the massager as well as the movement you should be using. Once the routine is done, the app shuts off the massager. I needed the routines for back and neck pain after I pulled my lower back while moving a stacked washer-dryer. I was nearly immobilized once my upper back, neck, and shoulders started compensating for the lower back pain. I ended up with very difficult to manually massage knots in my neck and shoulders, and the Prime Plus definitely helped to shorten the length of time to heal. One slightly gimmicky part of the app is the inclusion of music on some routines, like for the relaxation routines. The Prime Plus isn’t necessarily very loud, but it’s loud enough to make the contrast feel a little silly. With the exception of the power button placement and the non-replaceable battery, I’m quite happy with this massager’s build quality, design, and app integration.
