Okay while it lasted
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wish I had read some reviews. Newegg customers state that it not only stops working, but also corrupts the data. great. I was able to use it 10 times. It stopped working. worst part, I bought the same product for my parents. Thermaltake is aware of the problem. why is bestbuy still selling it?

Great way to use internal hard drives.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have bought a new computer and on my old computer I had 4 hard drives 2x2 TB, 1 TB and and a SSD 250Gig. I had mostly files and backup music and photos on them. So was able to use them now as external drivers without having to do all the copying and pasting I would have had to do other wise. Not I will copy what I need to my new computer and use other as a backup. Besides the convenience the price and easy of setup ( plug in USB slot 3.0 and add power) your ready to use. You may have to try different USB slot if it don't see the drive at first. took me a few tries.

Extra Space and Cloning
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This product is good for either addings more room for more hdd's or to clone a drive to another. I prefer thermaltake products because of reliability. The speeds are high and no drivers are needed for the use of this product. Great Buy!

Works as advertised
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The only issue is that some older drives are larger than the newer drives and are a VERY tight fit in the docking slot. It takes a bit of effort to get them in and out. This was known to me before I purchased from previous reviews, so it was NOT a surprise.

USB 3 speed for my older drives
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I broke open a bunch of my old USB external drives and use this device with my newer system. USB3 speed for my older drives. Smaller footptint and the hard disks are easier to store.

Works on the xBox one
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had a couple of internal hard drives laying around and needed an external hard drive for my xBox One. I like being able to hot swap the drives and it worked from the second I plugged it in.

Works on the xbox one
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I needed an extra hard drive for storage on our xbox one. I had an extra internal drive sitting around. Picked this up on sale and it works perfectly on our xbox. Since this has 2 drive bays I can still add another drive if the first one fills up.

When It Does Work....
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When it actually does work correctly it’s great. I’ve used it a couple of times so far and unfortunately it randomly disconnects itself. It has happened while attempting to transfer a large batch of files and also while attempting to do a system backup of a server. After reading more reviews of this same device throughtout the web, I’ve seen the same complaints. Buyers be warned

Saved our files.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Our old computer died suddenly. This enables us to access the files we had on it without problems. It also increases the memory on the new computer.

Easy to set up and use
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had other hard drive docks/ external enclosures in the past, but this one is the easiest to use and has the best build quality. It's not top-of-the- line, but it is an easy way to transfer data to a new hard drive if there are not enough ports inside your computer. It takes a while to transfer data, as it transfers through USB, but it works and is reliable.

Nice basic dock, needs gentler eject for ssd.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Was super helpful during system migration, easy to use, A bit flimsy covers for the drive bays when using ssd, and they eject up like toast. No instructions, no bells and whistles. No advanced automated wip/backup functions, just your typical dock. Nice and fast transfer speeds.

Convenient
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's nice to not have to open up my pc to hook up a hard drive. It works great. My only complaint is when both the source and target hard drive are in this docking station, copy speeds aren't as fast as having the source drive inside a computer and the target drive in the docking station. Just what I experienced with this docking station. Still a wonderful device of convenience.

Glad this was available!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Windows started an update without my knowledge. When my computer froze, I rebooted thinking everything would be OK. It corrupted my boot sequence. I had to reinstall Win 10 on a new harddrive and this unit allowed me to recover data on my harddrive. Only 4 stars because it will sometimes not allow you to safely eject the drive.

Good while it lasts
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I generally read reviews, but I thought I could trust Thermaltake. Used to create a few HD images and it died after the 10th image or so. Got a replacement and now i'm waiting for it to die again. After it died, I read some reviews online, and everybody says the same thing. I wish BestBuy would take it off the product list or Thermaltake would recall the product and offer a replacement.

Great Price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Went in looking for a SSD drive for Desktop. After seeing the price on this unit and the price on the 1 / 2 TB SSD Desktop drives. Picked this up and works great as an external HD Storage device!

Worked just as described
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Used to copy ssd boot up drive from smaller ssd to larger ssd. Functioned as described. Did have to experiment with software for about 10-15 minutes to get desired result with regards to cloning.
