This unit is best if you want to reformat your old hard drives that you got hanging around. its also good for using those old hard drives to say many other programs you got like music, or you want to save images of your system.

The price was a bit higher than on Amazon, since I was at the store already, it was a convenience. The drive cloning was simple. The hot swap drive bays were a plus.

I love this device so much I went back and bought another one. They are great for retrieving info off old HDDs and moving and storing files. They are plug and play with absolutely no complications. I will probably get another for my laptop.

works very well, allows access to all programs and photos on any hard drives, with any OS. within your current system with no conflict, you can also copy or erase any files, or duplicate all files, as well as clone one drive to another.

I have so many external drives from previous computers with so many items stored in them. I needed the flexibility to be able to quickly pop them in and out while looking for files. This dual drive enclosure does the trick rather nicely.

I purchased this to house a SSD for an externally bootable Bootcamp drive for my Mac and to swap HDDs to backup files for my NAS. It works well for my Bootcamp drive and for the backup HHD if you need a bay you can easily swap drives on.

Works beautifully. Old computer crashed and I had two drives that I desperately needed to extract the files from. Even though it has two bays, I decided to just do one drive at a time. It worked flawlessly and it's a lifesaver.

I’ve had a hard drive for about 6 years that I took out from an older computer. Never wanted to install it into a new computer so I just kept it when I’ll eventually buy a dock that can access the drive. Works great

This is my first external eSATA HD dock. I chose the Thermaltake BlacX since it has been around for awhile and gotten good reviews. Until very recently eSATA was the only fastest interface for external storage devices.

Wonderful abd fast way to transfer data only down side is you cant remove one disk without both unmounting other than its perfect for fast reliable data transfers

Simple set up with no issues. I plugged the drive in and followed instructions. Was able to read contents easily and write to drive. This is exactly what I needed.

Does not work, did research and lots of complaints and bad reviews about this product. The issue I am getting is "the last USB device plugged in has malfunctioned" all identical to other complaints. ThermalTake support actions are the same as well, they blame your computer. There is no solution to this except that you use a different product. Returned the same day I bought it. However, it works as a disk drive warmer, cuz it runs your hard drives at max speed the whole time it does nothing

I bought this device to recover photos from a dead computer. It worked flawlessly and I was able to recover all my photos and other files, undamaged. Just plug it into the USB port, load the hard drive and open Explorer.

Old laptop died but needed photos from it ... this was all I needed! Note: you’ll probably need a star driver head for a screwdriver to get the hard drive out of a laptop.

I had old internal drives from dead computers that I needed information from. This item allowed me to look at two of them at a time and retrieve all the info needed. Would recommend if you need a way to retrieve info from old drive.

I am delighted with the Docking Station on so many levels. I need the best there is for my projects and this tool will be a constant "go-to" for file transfers as storage, as well as reconfiguring HD's and SSD's, etc....

I bought this for the speed of USB3 and swapping out drives depending on need. I paired it with multiple and SSD's and must say I've been extremely pleased. Now my only issue is kicking myself for not switching sooner.

This product is amazingQ Allowed me to take the hard drive from my old computer and plug it into my new computer. So my new computer can access every file from my old computer without using up space! Amazing! Love it!

This is a very reliable hdd dock. I would've given it four stars what it doesn't work well with my virtual machine.

I have used this before in my work and it is excellent. Just plug in your hard drive and it is like another drive. I usually use it to copy complete disks to new larger or just newer hard drives. it works flawlessly
