Runs Cool and Stable with Newest Video Cards
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this PSU for an R9 380 installed in an XPS system. The PSU run very cool and quiet even on a heavy load. Easy to install. Instructions are accurate and provide all answers. The unit is heavy and solid as one would expect. It will run continuously at 650W so....that pretty much covers the power needs for gamers. It will peak at 780W. If you do your research online you'll find you need at least a 500W-550W power supply. This is 100W over that and can run continuously at that power consumption. Efficiency is a high 85% on average although they state up to 88% and higher on a load. You can't go wrong with this PSU. Unless you are trying to run multiple GPUs, a series of hard drives, and a water-cooling system...this is more than you'll ever need. A single GPU system with good speedy parts will only need up to 550W at best and the computer, as a whole, won't every hit that unless you are scripting some abnormal procedure. Don't let the higher number fool you. Single GPU systems....this is 100W more than you will ever need. Multiple GPU systems, go for at least a 750W or way higher; besides, this 650W has only two PCIe 12V connectors...so, you can only supply power to one GPU anyway. I'm good at research and I've been dealing with computers for over 20 years. This is perfect for every gamer out there. You really don't need anything else unless you actually calculated and know your power consumption. Highly recommended. Fits all ATX cases (XPS type cases and MiniTowers alike). You won't regret this purchase.

Good supply, not the best
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For the price and the power level I would have preferred modular cabling but it seems like a good supply.

It works but
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The product works but mine was far from great. It did its job however the 12v rail was below 12v at 11.6 or so. This is quite common for them to be just under 12v. I ended up replacing it with a corsair that was better regulated. I'm thinking this would be better for the vrm's duty cycles.
