Live view from phone is nice

There is no display on the unit. That’s a first for me, but it’s also nice to not have one more light source in the cabin at night. Connecting to my phone via the app and WiFi was really simple. It had another option to use a hotspot, but I haven’t used that at all. When connected to the phone, there is an option for “Live View” that allows you to use your phone as a display for the cameras. Both are selectable to view. This made aiming them very easy. There is a little delay, but you’ll get the hang of it quickly. I do recommend using the live view before adhering the rear camera in place. I didn’t see anywhere labeled which side was up and initially tried putting it on upside down. Thankfully I connected it first before sticking it in place with the provided double sided tape. Both cameras mount with double sided tape. Neither use a suction cup. This is nice since you don’t have to worry about loss of suction do to temperature changes, but once it is installed, there is no easy way to move it. It came with one extra piece of tape that could potentially be cut in two and used for both if they ever needed to be moved. It comes with a few clips to hold back the cables. I was able to tuck the cables in trim to hide it from the rear window to the windshield. The cable was long enough to reach the back of my wagon with about 3 feet to spare all wiring hidden by pushing behind trim. I didn’t use my tools, the cables are thin enough to tuck behind most trim. It comes with a 16GB card, I’d recommend getting at least a 32GB card for ease of use. Lastly, through the app, you can download videos directly to your phone. It takes a minute, but it is definitely simpler to do than bringing the camera to a computer especially at the scene of an accident. It provides a clear image with time stamp. There is a connection for an optional GPS which is sold separately. I am not utilizing that to know how well it works.

Can’t give it 5 stars because it needs extra GPS add on and it’s finicky when it comes to it memory card. Video quality is good and simple setup.

Installed in (teen driver) daughter’s car. Hiding the wires, finding just the right location to mount, and getting it to stick to the glass was kind of a pain... HOWEVER, this is NOT the fault of this dash cam product. She is driving an older, medium sized suv, so the rear camera wiring had to run a good ways and hidden behind old plastic panels to avoid snags and being seen. Again, not the products fault. As far as video quality? It is great. This runs everyday, every hour, and hasn’t affected or run down the battery yet. Plus she feels safer with it going, and quickly got used to it being there. I think it’s made her drive a little safer, knowing everything she does is recorded... but she says she ignores it. We have fortunately only had to use the videos a few times and only either when she was scared she did something wrong and when the back glass of the suv broke out while driving and we wanted to see what had happened. Footage is quite fascinating. Great video quality, good sound, not that intrusive, and records front and back when car is off. Which is helpful with suv parked in a school parking lot during the day. Plus, with most other kids knowing this, they avoid messing with her car when no one is around... because “someone” IS watching. Built in wifi is a little slow, and not that brilliantly laid out... but I just take the Micro SD out and pull footage up on laptop. It auto date stamps everything, so files are quite easy to find. ** Dropped it 1 star ONLY for self adhesive not sticking to windshield well through a full summer and having to spend a few hours cleaning it off the mount and glass. Second application still holding, but it’s just now getting warm again.

Bought an F200 Thinkware front/rear camera system and paid for a hardwire installation by the Geek Squad at Home Depot. The video is clear enough to show all objects, vehicles, barriers, etc. within the stated 140° field of view. Installation of additional GPS antenna enhances the data display on the video (time/speed, etc). I like the small footprint of both front and rear cameras. They are very subdued and do not distract the driver. The software is kinda finicky. Connecting to the mounted camera via a wi-fi connection is like a crap-shoot. I had to download the Thinkware Cloud application a couple of times before I was able to get the Thinkware Network to allow me to connect snd download the video files. I expect that future download connections may have the same issues, but I now know what to expect. I like how each file is named by using the 24 hour time and date that it was captured. When downloading the video files using Wi-Fi and my Android phone, there is no sound included. Haven't tried removing the Micro-SD card from the camera to download videos, All in all, it being my first dash-cam systyem, I am quite satisfied with the looks, design, and function of the cameras. Not too thrilled with the connection issues, but it was well intended. It just needs more "ease of of download" connection development. Good product.

I had the Best Buy technicians install both the front and rear camera set. It took less than an hour, and I used the time to window shop in the store. After I downloaded the app, I was able to easily view the recorded pictures of both the front and rear cameras. The picture quality was amazing. The recording is in one minute increments, with the file name including both the the date and time. Each minute of recording is about 80 K. The included 16 GB memory chip will record for about two hours, and then it will start recording over the oldest files. I upgraded to a 128 GB SDHC micro chip, which is the largest that can be used. I purchased the optional GPS unit, which just plugged in to the main front camera. Not only will each recording include the location, but the unit will warn you about speed cameras as you drive. I liked this camera set so much, that I went back and bought a complete 2nd unit for my van.

I’m pretty happy with this dash cam for the price. Glad it comes with a front and back separate cameras. Picture quality is good. I snagged 2 for each of my vehicles during Black Friday, so they were priced very well compared to other dash cam brands I was looking at. Installation was easy. I didn’t hard wire. Only issue I have is the dating and time that reports on the downloaded videos and I’m still not sure how to correct. I thought it would pull the date and time via WIFI from my phone, but it does not.

Easy enough to install, just have to tuck all wiring for it's not just hanging in the way. The cord to rear cam plenty long enough for my Challenger with plenty to spare. Litte Challenging to connect to the app to set up settings and view recordings, but after an email to Thinkware works good now that they helped me on which app to use..Thinkware Cam Link for the 200f.. Video quality is really good, both front and back.. I do wish could set it for longer then 1 min continuously recordings, more like 3-5 would make less files but still work good.

Whoever leaves a bad review on this either got a dud or has qbsolutetly no idea what their doing. Great video, great price, front and rear. Although the accident i got into was not my fault (ruled not at fault). Once i let the lieing at fault driver know i had a dash cam catch everything, he was quick to change his tone. Never let anyone know you have one unless NEEDED to prove innocence, as insurance companies will try to use it against you (unless you were 100% not at fault like in my case). Just buy it and use common sense. For 130$ u cant beat it.

I needed to upgrade to a dual channel Dashcam, I previously was using a Thinkware F50 single channel in the front only. Actually two of them in different cars. Thinkware dash cams have been solid performers for me so I went with that brand again. I reused the front windshield mount from the F50 already in place, also the power cord, and GPS antenna. Everything works flawlessly . All I had to wire was the rear camera cable (one cable for both power and video) from the front camera to the rear. PLEASE NOTE--The rear camera apparently does NOT come out of the bracket which is attached to the rear window. Makes it impossible to remove in the wintertime when temps drop to -30 in my area. I made a small bracket for the camera that slipped under the headliner so I can take it out in the winter. The recording quality is great for me, I only had one problem. I do not use a smartphone, so tried an iPad to download the viewer. But, my iPad is very old and I never got it to work with the wireless connection while the camera was in the car. I just remove the chip and plug it into my computer and it works with the viewer provided on the original camera chip just fine. For the price, you can't go wrong. BONUS, I now have a leftover F50 and a windshield bracket so will mount it in the rear window of the other car. The camera is removable I cold weather, they just won't be tied together when viewing.

The cameras are good. I recommend getting the hardwire kit and cpl filter. The filter helps with glare from the windshield and lights at night. I have also seen reviews about people saying it only takes SD cards from Thinkware. That's false, I purchased a 128gb card from Amazon and it works fine.

The quality is great and it’s easy to retrieve videos. The only downside is the rear camera needs to be mounted with the lettering upside down to record correctly. All of my rear view videos are the wrong orientation. User manual could have been more clear and stated that. Hopefully a software update can fix it or I’ll just remount the camera.

This is the second Thinkware Dash Cam I have purchased over the past 4 years. The original F50 is still working great in my SUV. The Thinkware Dashcams are very reliable and perform exactly as described. The Dual Cam F200 exceeded my expectations without busting my budget. The security the dual cameras provide, have helped police catch 2 angry "coal roller moonbats" who vandalized my work truck for having a pro American pro Union bumper sticker on the rear window. I guess they believe everyone needs to drive what they drive and don't believe in the freedom of choice. But that's another story! Bottom line buy with confidence. Durability combined with reliability is what you need in a dashcam and Thinkware hits the target with the F200. Their business is Dashcams and it is obvious they focus their development efforts solely on this market. They don't make GPS Devices, Radar detectors, Hair Dryers, Alexa Devices etc. You get the point. Also, make sure you purchase the optional hardwire package and for short money have the Best Buy Geek Squad installation professionals install it for you. The hardwire package allows you to use the parking feature of the dashcam. This is essential if you want to catch the cowardly, social justice warriors who may want to due harm to your vehicle while you are away. Buy it now! Great product and great service from Best Buy!

its very easy to install but make sure the mount is where you want it when you stick it because the 3M adhesive will not let go. the app is easy to navigate. it was very hard to get Thinkware to recommend a after market SD card. Their cards are crazy expensive. I only received a 16gig card and two cameras fill that up really quick.

I bought this dash cam for 1 of my cars, then everyone wanted 1 also so I have already purchased 3 of the same dash cam and going to buy another one for another family member. So easy to use dont need to take out the chip to delete the footage, it records in mintues so when the chip is full it starts to delete minute to minute so just case there was something you needed will still be there. We connected the rear camera in our back window so it could catch the rear from is just in case of an accident to get the back. Only good comments from me.

Put down all the other on s and purchase a Thinkware Dash Cam. I resently purchased this F200d from BestBuy and love it. I originally purchased a Garmin 65W and after my third and be I figured the Garmin was junk as was their customer service and after reading all the customer reviews on the Thinkware I decided to try it. I’m sure glad I did, I am totally blown away by it, 10 times the picture of the Garmin and 10 times easier to use. Buy it!

The camera function is good and the resolution is fairly sharp. Night vision is adequate if not exceptional. Problems with the device are all connected to it's connectivity. Cell function is dismal and finicky. Real life transfer of data boils down to removing the card and exporting via a card reader. My application is hardwired and the camera works well in that function. It seems a very minimal drain on battery if that is a concern. The app for this camera is next to useless and continues in the same disappointing style of bad connectivity. In general I like the camera for it's basic function. If Thinkware would ever make a decent app or provide an easy method for accessing data it would be a great device.

Works fine and does take nice video. Does not show vehicle speed, direction or location unless you buy an optional antenna. I would rather have had the GPS antenna than the second rear viewing camera this comes with. Also the external GPS antenna requires another cable over your head. I don't like managing all the cables. I drive 2 different vehicles and would like to be able to swap from one to the other without a lot of hassle.

I have been searching for a good quality dash cam for a few years now and this mdl. Fits the bill. There is one problem though, the state of Alabama recently (Oct. 2019) passed a law making it illegal to install ANY DASH CAM onto the windshield of your vehicle. So in essence you can get a ticket/arrested for installing your dash cam. Supposedly it obstructs your vision. Apparently the law makers of Alabama have not thoroughly thought this law through. Think of the good these can do.
