I'd consider this an intro dashcam, but even with that it's worth every cent. My only issue is that the app to get the video off of the camera is a little fidgety, so I usually use the SD card on my computer to do it.

Thank goodness I haven't gotten into an accident for the past 5 years, but my girlfriend has. Long story short, she hit another car because she saved another life. Insurance company said, due to lack of evidence, that it was completely her fault. I bought this camera and installed it myself. Easy install, easy use, easy calibration, easy to save videos, easy to download videos. EASY!!! I recommend buying this on sale to really get the killer deal.

I've had my Thinkware dash camera a couple weeks and so far, so good. The picture from both cameras is very clear; during the day anyway. I haven't had the truck out after dark, so I haven't had a chance to check nighttime video quality. The size of the cameras and their positioning inside my truck don't interfere with my driving at all. The buttons on the back of the front camera are a little hard for me to push, but then again I have fat fingers.

THINKWARE F200D Dash Cam Review

The THINKWARE F200D Front and Rear Dash Cam being priced at about $160.00 dollars was probably a little steep for this Dash Cam. I took it upon myself to install it rather than higher somebody. From my personal experience, they could have included more of those black plastic things to hold the wire against the glass (IDK what they are called).
Besides that little mishap, you will more than likely have to manually install the firmware yourself, which simply downloading the software does not automatically do for you, instead you have to insert the device into your computer and manually update the boot file (along those lines). I have a technical background so this software upgrade was easy to me, but others who are not computer literate will likely find this difficult.
Once the device is installed and all setup in your car, I personally wasn't a fan of the constant types of noises coming out of my speakers like when I start the car, the camera announces itself. (I think there is a setting to turn updates from the camera though). Secondly and more importantly, video clips are only recorded max of 1 minute at a time. For example: in 10 consecutive minutes, you will have 10 (1-minute) clips, so when you record all day long you can see where this is going. I think 1 minute would equal 80 megabytes. Also, when opening up on a computer, the file names were not very specific as to what time each clip was taken. The last thing that really bugged me is that when you want to record sound and video, sound is equivocated into the 80 megabyte maximum. For example, I have very loud speakers, thus the clip would max out at 80 megabytes and only be 5 seconds.
The only positives I can think of about this particular device is that both cameras provide pristine footage day and night. The device is very compact. You can choose whether or not to use the rear camera. Lastly, though I am not a fan of the software portion of this device, I can say that the software does support the mission and provides a user the functionality to download clips directly on the app via cell phone. Device can stay plugged in overnight in your vehicle and will go into power-saver mode (dependent on your settings, the device can wake up in an emergency such as a buggery attempt and the camera will record and send it to a cloud.

Hello There, Thank you for writing a review about the product and we are sorry to hear that your experience with the F200 Dash Cam was slightly negative. We would love the opportunity to hear more as we are always striving to improve our Dash Cams. Feel free to reach out at [email protected]. We do offer the option to update the devices Firmware via our PC Viewer Program, which is beneficial for users that do not have the same level of tech experience. The Dash Cam can be silenced if you prefer no audible alerts. All video files are recorded in 1 Minute Increments which pro-longs the lifespan of the SD due to the constant overwriting cycles. Footage is organized by folder, then Year, Month, Day, Hour, Minute, Second. Please note that the volume of audio that the device records does not translate into clip size. A File with Audio will always be a Minute Long.

Got this dash cam for my birthday after some research. Did not hard wire as I will be turning my RAV4 lease over next January. Easy to setup, but working out the kinks on wifi connection.
Personally I don't have unlimited data cell plan or I would use hot spot connecting for some features like cloud recording.
Up sized the memory card to 128 gb because the 16 gb card fills up quickly. Ironically I am more conscious of my own driving compared to recording the many bad drivers on the road.
So far, very happy with my purchase. Bought on Sale $50 off

I thought this had built in GPS apparently that's a special add-on that you need to pay extra for and it's not sold in the store. Otherwise it's a pretty decent piece of equipment the one piece that's missing though is GPS because without speed well it's kind of your word against theirs still...
Also interfacing with the cell phone app in the camera is a little clumsy. I guess you get used to it if you really want to spend time in there but I'm just using it as a Rolling documentarian of my travels in the event that there's a problem I have something to document what happened

The image quality is good and set-up are easy. I gave 4 stars due to the Thinkware Cloud app for Iphone. When I pushed the live view the camera app froze. Had to reboot phone twice to clear the frozen screen.

Great camera quality. Used the rear facing camera inside my car to record inside the vehicle vs behind me. Had trouble with the mounting but figured it out. The app is a little difficult to understand. It also doesn’t record all at once. Records in fragments but you can download the file on your computer and put them all together.

The directions given with the devise did not help, as they were more set up and the writing was so small.
The videos are perfect but I only can see them when I remove the flash drive as the phone capability is difficult to follow.
I was looking for tech support and never found a number to help a novice setting up the correct settings. My battery to my new car died after 3 months of using the parking assistance mode.

after installing five differ cameras on family cars over the past four years this was my first try with the dual camera offerings and I really like seeing the rear camera videos. the app setup was my only problem but it's working now. I've caught drivers passing me into head on traffic and one rear end wreck on the car stopped next to me. try it you'll like it. KJ

I love this dash cam. it is small enough to not obscure or be in the way of driving. the video quality is amazing and easy to download onto phone. it picks up everything from recording and even sounds even when the car is off and parked. it also doesn't drown my battery on parking mode.

Conflicted

Overall a decent camera. I was conflicted about this dash cam and in the end I returned it mostly because in my opinion the camera got a little too hot when recording and there were too many cables/wires for my liking. All of which are necessary to get the full features from the setup.
Personal Pros:
Quality build (made in Korea and they are known for their quality).
Nice design; sleek and low profile.
Unobtrusive, except for the cabling.
Good quality video.
The app worked well for viewing over wifi (the primary way to view your recordings without inserting the micro SD card into a computer).
Personal Cons:
Camera ran hot; not blistering hot, but hotter than I thought it should which may shorten its lifespan.
Too many cables which defeats the low profile - especially when you connect the rear camera and the GPS antenna (if you choose to).
I’m still looking for just the right camera. If I was only wanting to use a forward facing camera and I was confident that it didn’t run hot, I’d recommend this unit wholeheartedly. But if you are bothered by cables/wires hanging down in the vicinity of your rear view mirror, then think twice.

We bought this for our car, after our teenager got into an accident. He had it in his car and it saved him from costly insurance rates as he was able to prove the accident was the fault of the other person. Love this. Easy to install. App for recording means I can access the footage at any time.

This dash cam saved me from a wreck that I was in. Super clear picture and very easy to use. I definitely recommend having the geek squad hard wire it. If you do get it hard wired remember to buy the extra piece for it, which you will need to buy online(amazon).

I have only had it for a couple weeks and I find it to very nice. Being I am thinking of trading this car. I was not anxious to glue it to the window with mounting bracket. Ordered a mounting bracket from the company. Suction cup one very pleased with that for various reasons. Over all it is a quality product and I am pleased. I watched a lot of you tube evaluations for my decision
