Over Hyped Camera..

Sometimes top notch prices get you low quality products.

wifi to phone only

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Before I bought the u1000 I called thinkware to confirm it could connect directly to any WiFi I had the password for and that is not from a cell phone. I was told yes. I bought it so i can see what car door hit my car in the parking lot while it was happening and other things. Now I know it can only connect to WiFi with a cell phone. So unless I leave my cell phone in the car, I can’t see through the camera. Also, unless there is a big enough knock on the car to cause an event storage on the disc, I would not be able to see a door hitting my car. Storage is not enough to keep all non-accident recorded so minor accident recordings would be lost.

Junk! Stay away!

Automatically turns off in CA winter saying temp too high. Keeps narrating annoying announcements every 10-15 mins. After 9 months, stopped working! Complete waste of money!

Not worth the price

It’s also not easy to connect to my iPhone (wireless CarPlay has made things a bit tricky as well), and the interface with the app makes me feel like this thing was designed in 1999. Go buy a cheaper camera from someone else.

Do not recommend

Don’t buy it

Nothing but issues

Stopped working in six months

Super hard to connect to my phone, didnt stay connected to the wifi in my car, and then a clicking sound indicating the camera was turning off and on repeatedly-stopped working in just six months. I have not been able to find a dashcam with a reliable app and camera.

Do Not WASTE Your Money!

Without the ability to sync, we cannot access the dashcam setting, nor can we view dashcam videos. We have been in communication with Thinkware for over a month and they cannot resolve the issue. At this point, the Thinkware U1000 is useless!

By far the best dash cam I have used

I mounted it, turned all of the audio off, and it just sits there waiting to capture an accident. When some one tailgates me I just tell them to smile because they are on my 2K rear cam!!!!! LOL. Love this thing.

Nice and wonderful dashcam ever

It has a nice design such like an OEM part. The resolution is beautiful it shows everything nice and clean even at night time. Everything's good so far and I would recommend this to my friends. Dont waste your money

You have to connect your phone to the app EVERYTIME you get in your car (wifi/hotspot). I called tech support and they said “unfortunately you have to connect it everytime you get in your car, there is nothing we can do.” She didnt offer me a credit or other solution. Stay as far away from this company as you can. I have an ipjone 12 pro in case you were wondering.
