Sixx:A.M. (Nikki Sixx, DJ Ashba and James Michael) have done it again and done it better! The follow up to their first cd "The Heroin Diaries" is nothing short of amazing! "This is Gonna Hurt" is a powerful cd. From the opening title track, to the "make you think" lyrics of the last song "Skin," you will find yourself on a journey unlike any other. This is not your usual cd release. This is going to get to you.. make you think.. feel alive.. change your thoughts and reach inside you.. This is a must have cd! Look for Sixx:A.M. "The Heroin Diaries" as well as Nikki Sixx's books "The Heroin Diaries" and his latest release.. "This is Gonna Hurt"

Nikki Sixx and the rest of the guys in his "side project" have done it again! Songs that make you think instead of the mindless drivel in most of today's rock music. My favorite song is Skin, the lyrics are understanding to many who feel shunned and out of place. Goes as a great companion to Nikki's book of the same title. Buy this and learn how it feels to be me

So glad the guy's are back, they sound awsome once again. Staying true to their sound and kicking a** on the lyrics, Dj is rockin the guitar, Jame's voice sounds killer and what can be said of Nikki's bass that hasnt already!

I had considered checking out this group for a while. Every song on the album isn't a winner but it has me thinking I will purchase other works from the group.

    Sixx:A.M. has done it again!

The team of Sixx:A.M. (Nikki Sixx, Dj Ashba, and James Michael) was first responsible for bringing us the Heroin Diaries Soundtrack, bringing readers through Nikki Sixx's first book with a musical accompanyment to the tales of addiction and the struggle to get through it. They returned with Nikki's second book This is Gonna Hurt, this time with music that really strikes home. I haven't been able to stop listening to this CD since it was shipped to me from pre-order. The lyrics, the music, and just the whole other world that these three men created with this album is out of this world. It makes you Smile, it makes you laugh, and it's even been known to bring a few to tears. It makes you look at yourself and re-evaluate yourself as a person. This album will forever be a favorite of mine.

Sixx AM - This Is Gonna Hurt

I’ve been eagerly awaiting this album. Haven’t said that very often in the last 10 years. The Heroin Diaries is one of my all-time favourite CD’s, so I was pretty concerned that the expectations I placed on this new one would not be met. The were and then some. This will most likely be my CD of the year. Won’t be for everyone, but everyone should give it a listen. If you likeld THD, than you will like this. If you didn’t like THD, there’s a pretty good chance that you’re still gonna like this one. Here’s my track by track… This Is Gonna Hurt – I struggle with the first song on any album for some reason. I see the first song as setting the scene for what is to come, but the first song never really does that for me. This one is a speedy trashy rocker which is a good song but not one of my favorites. Maybe it will grow on me in time. Lies Of The Beautiful People – the first single off the CD and a great song. Kinda like Life Is Beautiful in that it took me a few listens to really get into it. My kids love this song. Are You with Me – Great song, lots of different tempos and moods. Reminds me a little bit of Live at the start, but then turns into a great rocker. Live Forever – Probably my favourite song of the CD. Can see Papa Roach influence a little bit here. Hooky and addictive. Sure Feels Right – this one sounds like a Hot Action Cop ballad. They are one of my favourite bands so this song was an instant hit with me. Lyrics are pretty well put together. The vibe reminds me of Drift Away at times (the Dobie Gray song) Deadlihood – Reckon this one is left over from the SOLA sessions, Could have been on that album, but hard to imagine it with Vince’s vocals. An Ok song, catchy enough not to go to the trouble of skipping. Smile – I’ve yo-yo’ed with this song. Loved it, then tired of it, now I like it a lot. A love ballad, full of violins, it’s an easy song to listen to. Help Is On The Way – Extremely Butch Walkeresque. If you like Butch’s music, you’ll love this song. An up tempo rocker, it’s kinda funky and poppy and ‘full of words’. Oh My God – The U2 song, as my wife calls it and it’s easy to see why. Not a big U2 fan myself, but I love this song. Traditional hooky rock song, should be the next single. Goodbye My Friends – Probably left over from The Herion Diaries, also could have been on SOLA. Not one of my favorites, but may grow on me more in time. Skin – According to Steel Panther, nobody ever listens to the last song on the album. Probably might want to take the time for this one, unless you hate slow vocal dominated ballads. Just piano and violins accompany a great vocal effort.

"This Is Gonna Hurt" by Sixx:A.M.

If you liked "The Heroin Diaries", you will love "This Is Gonna Hurt". Nikki Sixx, James Micheal and DJ Ashba have -again- proved how talented they are as musicians. Still "This Is Gonna Hurt" is not only musically, but especially lyrically a masterpiece. Some of the songs really hit home. My personal favorites - and the songs I'd recommend the most - would be "This Is Gonna Hurt", "Are You With Me" and "Skin". This album is a great mix of faster/heavier hard rock songs and calmer ballads. They even included some strings in the song "Sure Feels Right" which is a nice change. If you haven't bought this yet, you're missing out on a really great rock album!

Love this album! I can't stop listening to it! I loved the Heroin Diaries, but this is even better. The band gets bigger each time. The music, the lyrics, the operatics and passion that shines on this album is beautiful. There's so many genres in styles of music on this album that it's breathtaking. The collaboration of Nikki, James and DJ is amazing. The creativity keeps shining through and they've taken the bar to another level. This album's been so well received, it's great for fans to enjoy this album that's been well crafted.

This CD was truely amazing and the songs was very well written. They have a meaning behind them unlike most songs in todays world and that's what I adore most about the CD. Lies Of The Beautiful People is by far the best song I've heard yet because just about everyone can relate to it. But the other songs is excellent as well. The art is pretty good as well, it shows what the songs are talking about. I'm glad I bought this CD, it was well worth the money I spent.

Sixx AM has done it again. They put this album together beautifuly. Not only do the songs sound great but the lyrics are very deep, DJ Ashba, Nikki Sixx, and James Michael did a great job creating the music lyrically. Every single song matches Nikki Sixx's new book "This is Gonna Hurt". It's like a puzzle piece, you must have both to fully grasp the beautiful concept of this project. This album is a MUST have. I highly recommend it.

This album is amazingly good. I highly recommend it to anyone who likes rock. There are some song that are melodic but its still good. I can personally relate to the lyrics, especially the song skin. Ever since I got the album this is all I've been listening to. There's nothing I don't like about it. The song 'Sure feels right' to me sounds a little country but its still good! Go out and get you a copy, you will NOT be disappointed!
