I bought the Tile Mate and slim combo pack that had 4 tiles in it but one of them was not working. Also if you lost an item outside of home it will not act like a GPS where it will give you the exact location only the last time where it was paired to your phone.

I bought these tiles and tried to install them and get them working. I couldn't get them to do anything they are now sitting in the Box on my dresser. I'm sure all I have to do is call support I just have to get around to doing it.

Bluetooth connectivity item and it has a limited range. I have 8 pieces of them and they look more as an ornaments. It has plenty of room for improvement.

Was this thing tested?

I'm guessing the people that give this a 5 star review haven't actually had to use it yet. After paying $80.00 for a combo pack, I tested these out to see how they work. What I found is this:
1. When the connection between the phone and the Tile is severed by going out of range, it doesn't automatically reconnect when you come back in range. For example, if I leave my keys downstairs and take my phone with me upstairs, it breaks the connection between the two and they stop communicating. If I go back downstairs with my phone, they don't automatically reconnect. This means if I come downstairs, grab my keys, drive 30 miles, go to a mall, go out to eat, and then realize at the restaurant that I don't have my keys, I will go into the app and it will say my keys were last seen at home. None of the places I have been since the connection was broken have been tracked. The only way to reconnect them is to constantly go into the app and update my location once I get somewhere. I have notified customer service via email and the fixes they have given me - such as adjusting the settings and so forth - have not fixed the problem.
2. As part of my testing, I wanted to see how the "Notify when found" feature works. I purposely went out of range to break the connection between my phone and the Tile. I then selected "Notify when found" to find my keys. I then pressed the home button on my phone but the app was running in the background. I came back to where my keys were and... no notification. After several minutes, I opened the app, the location refreshed and only then did I get a notification that my keys were found.
3. The sharing feature is confusing. Since the Tile can be used to find a phone it is connected to, I originally had my wife's Tile connected with her phone and my Tile connected to my phone. We then shared each other's Tile's so we could both see where each other's keys and phones were. The problem is that when one person goes out of range, the shared Tile automatically connects to the other device it's shared with; so if I take my phone upstairs and my wife was downstairs with her phone and her keys (where we usually leave them), my Tile would connect to her phone. It would stay connected to her phone until she then goes out of range and my Tile would relinquish the connection to her phone and reconnect to mine. But again, due to the issue described in #1, my Tile will only reconnect to my phone if I open the app to update it. We had too many issues with this and it was frustrating so we decided to have all Tiles only connected to my phone and deleted the app from my wife's phone.
4. For whatever reason, even when the connection isn't severed by going out of range, the Tile and the phone don't appear to communicate with each other constantly (as they should be). Sometimes I open the app and it says the last update was a minute ago and other times I open it and it says the last update was hours ago even though my keys and my phone have been right next to each other all day while I'm at work.
I got this due to the positive reviews. It even has stellar reviews from multiple well-known publications. I have notified customer service and have done everything they have told me to do with regard to ensuring the app is running in the background, logging out, logging back in, restarting my phone, etc. and none of it works. I've got the Bluetooth always on, I've got unlimited data with location services always on and set to high accuracy... nothing. These issues are major issues with this piece of technology that are big enough, in my opinion, to prevent it from being released for sale. I can't imagine I have a defective set given the number of other people that describe similar connection issues. At this point, I'm going to return it and would not recommend this. I have absolutely no confidence that I will be able to find anything should it get lost.

Not worth when you have to replace every year

I bought several of these less than 2 years ago as Christmas gifts and got some for me too. I thought the idea was pretty great. Unfortunately, I didnt realize you cant replace the batteries, which is really dumb so now these are worthless. Mine lasted roughly 1 1/2 years although they are estimated to last roughly 1 year and honestly paying $50 for 2 tiles (one for my keys and one for my wallet) or even the combo pack is really not a good price when you have to replace them every year. Im sure they could easily change the design to make the batteries replaceable (since there are similar products that let you replace batteries) but they choose not to in order to make more money. Which is really disappointing. I wont be replacing my tile.

Purchased for my grandmother who who always loose her wallet, keys, or phone. Installation was easy and painless. Sound is pretty good, could be louder. If it is in a wallet or a bag, the sound is muffled some and you need to get close. Map tracking is relatively accurate. When looking at the map there were over 100 users near by, that is a plus, if for some reason you were ever to really loose an item.

These are great! They last a long time, and are durable. When the battery finally does die (which takes a long time), you'll get a significant discount on your replacement. The app is easy to use and full featured. I have 10+ tiles, and attach them to just about everything of value that I own!

I wasted $100 on these stupid tiles. I lost a key fob and almost lost my phone ( thanks to Android device locator I found it) The volume is too low, the battery only last 1 yr and it only tells you where it was last seen. Save your money for something useful

Everytime I have REALLY needed it, I could not get it to locate my keys. And the worst part is that I had the tracking service too. The APP said that my keys were at an apatment complex, so I walked around with my phone trying to get in range and it never worked. It was pouring rain and I ended up soaking wet and freezing and still keyless. My cousin found them in her car two days later. And my TILE never located them in the car at any location. It was not until she brought them back to my house that the location was updated. I think Tile is using false advertising. The Tile is NOT accuarate and it cost me an entire day of looking in a place that the keys were never actually located. As it urns out, the "last location" was only an address near the highway we were on the night my keys were lost. I thought someone had picked them up accidentally at the restaurant and taken them home. When the entire time they were in my cousins car. If I hadn't had the Tile, I would have asked my cousin to check the car again sooner. But I thought I could count on the TILE and I was very wrong.

This died after a year and doesn't have a replaceable battery. Instead you have to throw it out and buy another set on a yearly basis which is a waste of money. I will not consider purchasing from them again. It also didn't work half the time meaning it said it was closer by but wouldn't ring.
