    Wifi set up is a nightmare, take a lot steps and force it not very strong so leave your floor like barley touched

    First one we got was “new” but once we got it out of the box parts were missing and dirty. Took it back and exchanged it for a new one. The new one is in the process of being shipped back and replaced. Kept going into auto self clean mode as soon as it was turned on. They are upgrading us to the S5 model with all the trouble

    DON'T BUY IF YOU HAVE DOGS

    Don't buy if you have dogs. It can't handle any dog hair. I vacuumed my place first, then started to use this. It stopped 12 TIMES just in my kitchen telling me to clear the sensor. There was some dog hair, but not a lot. I'm guessing all the 5 star reviews are from non-pet households. I bought this to save time and it literally took forever to make it through my floors because of continually stopping to clear the sensor. Definitely NOT worth the money.

    Battery doesn’t hold a charge

    This Tineco Floor One S5 Extreme is a piece of junk! I have had this for not even two years and only used it a few times due to getting a housecleaning service. It will not hold a charge. The battery says it’s at 100% when you take it off the charging base then when you turn it on to mop it goes to 0% in a matter of seconds. This is the biggest waste of money I have spent!!

    If I can give it a zero I would. This is worthless. For one little small room I had to replace the water multiple times and just not worth my time. Some areas didn’t even pick up sticky mess.

    I've tested a decent amount of vacuums over the last decade. This is the first one I've tested that was made for hard surfaces and I was excited to get it mostly for my wife who always uses whatever other vacuum on our hard floors almost interchangeably as our carpeted areas. While I normally would sweep hard floors and them vacuum up the pile or let our robot vacuum with mop attachment do all the work for me. Setup was a little overwhelming looking at first but not too bad. The whole thing comes in more pieces than I would normally expect to find but the instructions lay out what everything is pretty nicely and after the initial shock it wasn't too hard to figure it out. I put it all together and let it charge over night (it suggests at least 4-5 hours of charge time before the initial use). I'm pretty happy with the steps required to actually use this vacuum. It's mostly a supplement to our robot vacuum/mop. I'm happy with the robot but we usually go around the are and pick up/move everything off of the floor in the entire upstairs before we run it so it's a process. It does a good job but the setup and reconstruction of the area before running it makes us use it far less than I'd like. So having a vacuum that's made for sweeping and mopping that I can easily setup and break down is key. When you want to use this, just fill up the clean water tank with mostly water and a small cap-full of soap. Then you're ready to go. The first time I hit the power button, I was surprised as it kind of drives itself forward. Pretty nice to lighten the load but you're also fighting against that push when your pull the vacuum back again. Overall it was a nice little assist, I think. The vacuum and mop did a pretty nice job of cleaning the floor pretty quickly but it did require an empty and refill of the tanks before I was finished. That doesn't take too long so it was no big deal. After I was done doing the whole upstairs area, the battery still had about 60% left (I was worried because when I first started it up, it looked like the battery was draining very quickly). The nice thing about having a screen with all the information on it is that you can see at a glance how hard the vacuum is working and what battery level is remaining. After you're done the instructions recommend you clean the dirty and clean water tanks as well as the roller and roller protector after each use. This is the only annoying part since you can't really just grab the vacuum to do a quick job and put it back but the cleanup of these things doesn't take too long. The base station does include an auto-clean feature for the roller so you have that going for you and there were 2 additional rollers included with this vacuum so you can always just rotate them if you need to clean one. Apparently there's an app that goes with this vacuum. The instructions just said that you can "perform all functions from the app" but I don't really know what functions those are. I did not download the app and can't imagine what I would possibly need it for. The functions on the vacuum are very minimal and can be adjusted with just a few pushes of the 3 buttons on the vacuum. I just didn't want another app on my phone. The only weird thing I didn't love about this vacuum was how it sat on the charging station. It leans forward quite a bit for some reason. I would expect it to just sit straight up and down but when the head is locked and you place it on the charger the handle leans forward at what feels like a 30 degree angle. Far more than you'd expect. Enough that I thought I was doing something wrong. I couldn't figure out a better way to place it on the charger though so I'm going to assume it's just how it was designed. I got used to it quickly enough but it was a weird thing when I first saw it. Overall, I like the vacuum. It does a good job supplementing our robot vacuum by being easy to get up and running and being easy to break down and clean when we're done (while not needing to break down the entire upstairs before using it since we can move things while vacuuming). If you're looking for a nice hard surface vacuum/mop and this fits your budget, give it a look. I was impressed with it for the most part.

    Worst tool to use for cleaning. I was trying to return it, but I was told it was only a 15 day return policy and it was too late for me to do so. Please save yourself a headache and purchase something better and possibly cheaper than this crappy tool.

    Trash one year later

    It used to be good and I (regrettably) recommended it to friends. But now, a year later, the battery doesn't last. Not even 5 minutes before it goes from 100% to 50%, where it just skips the in between and hits 0. I'm sticking to corded from now on.

    I bought this vacuum / wet mop because a few of my friends bought it and they were really happy with how well cleans. I have over 2500sqf hardwood floor and marble floors and this is by far the best mop I’ve had. My floors are really shiny and clean after using it. I love that it is cordless, I can mop the whole house and at the end I still have 30% battery. It also propels so you need less effort to move it around compared with a regular mop. I love also the fact it cleans itself at the end. The downside is that it will ask to empty the dirty water container or refill the clean water container. For my floor surface I had to stop once to refill the containers. But even with this I would buy it again without hesitation. I love seeing my floors so shiny.

    Won’t charge after 6 weeks of light use

    Battery won’t charge even though we ve only had it about 6 weeks and have used it sparingly. Best Buy only gives you a 2 week window to return, so I am now dealing with Tineco directly. Im hoping for the best, but have not been impressed with their customer service so far

    Cleans Well, Mine Had Battery Issues

    We have been using steam mops to clean our tile floors for years, but all they seemed to do was smear dirt and grime around the floor. Some of the dirt sticks to the pads, but a lot of it does not. This is where the Tineco really shines, sucking up dirty water. My floors looked notably cleaner after running the S5 over them compared to our Shark spinning steam mop that only scrubs. Overall, I really liked this product, but I ran into a few issues that caused me to replace it under Best Buy 24-month warranty. 1) The battery life was not long enough to clean our entire home. We have about 2500-2700 square feet of tile downstairs, and this would not get through it all on a single charge. 2) Charging is painfully slow. If the unit is low on power, expect to wait 4+ hours for it to be fully charged again. 3) My main issue, and the reason for my return; This device had notable battery drain when sitting idle & fully charged. This in itself is fine if the device can recognize that the battery is draining, and the base can recharge it while sitting idle. If I charge the device to 100% battery and then take it off of the charger for 2 weeks, it will still report that it has 100% battery on the display even though it does not. If I put it back on the charger it will say it's at 100% and won't charge it. The problem is when you try to clean the onboard computer will start to realize the battery is not fully charged and instead of your battery trickling down as you clean, it will start to rapidly drain 1% every 2 seconds. The device ends up dead after just 4-5 minutes of cleaning. This may have been a defect isolated to my unit or could be an inherent issue with the device itself. I've seen a few other reviews complain about this. Tineco support was helpful, but expects you to box up the device and all accessories so it can be sent back to them (they pay for the label only). The Best Buy warranty was a better value here, I was able to take it into the store and do a no questions asked exchange for another model. I'm going to give the Tineco S5 Steam a try because it's corded and won't have battery issues, but still has the same great cleaning technology of the S5 Extreme.
