    A must for hard flooring!

TLDR summary: The Tineco FloorWasher Pet Cordless - 5 Series really is a tremendous time saver for those with hard flooring!! Context: With 3 cats and a messy roommate at home, life at my prior dwelling (a carpeted apartment) involved A LOT of vacuuming- like enough cat fur per day to clothe another cat and the normal crumbs and messes associated with life. As such, I’ve used several vacuums over time, but had no real need for a tool like the Tineco FloorWasher Pet Cordless - 5 Series. Fast forward a couple months and I recently moved into a renovated condo with laminate flooring throughout. My belief that constant floor care was a thing of the past was, to say the least, incorrect. Now, not only there various area rugs to vacuum, but the floors themselves need cleaning to get up scuffs, spills, shoe/paw prints, etc- in the right light and at certain angles, every step taken in key high traffic areas seems to be recorded. While I’d already purchased a mop and bucket to take care of the initial renovation mess, I did not really think that swabbing the floors on a regular basis was going to now be part of my life. In steps the Tineco FloorWasher Pet Cordless - 5 Series! I took it out of the box, reviewed the instructions while it charged up to 100% and got to work! Between the number of parts, the features, and the fact the wet/dry vacuuming is new to me, I did think it a valuable use of my time to actually read the directions and figure out how stuff works. Doing so just makes one appreciate the features all the more: · The iLoop Sense technology seems to do a great job of adjusting water and vacuuming to optimize mess clean-up. I’ve tested it on pre-vacuumed and just plan messy floors and it’s handled both beautifully (see notes on cleaning) · The run time (up to 35 minutes claimed) has been enough for me to do the whole area (1400sf +/-) · The fact that it comes with 2 dry filters and brushes is a really useful feature that I wish more cleaning tech manufacturers would employ!! I agree with several other reviewers: · it still makes sense to get up bigger, nastier messes before using the Tineco FloorWasher Pet Cordless… could you suck up that pile of spaghetti, maybe- do you want to clean up your wet/dry vac afterwards, maybe not! · Make sure to clean the dirty water tank, filters and rollers after each use- it’s simple to do and you have extras if another mess pops up soon · It’s very quiet- the cats don’t love it, but relative to any of the vacuums I’ve used, it’s pretty pleasant to use All in all, a great product that really makes caring for hard floors easier!

The Tineco cordless mop and vacuum cleaner 5 series is awesome. It mops and vacuums all in one making cleaning hardwood floors a breeze. The cleaning solution has a great scent, and the unit informs you if the floor is clean and when the clean and dirty water tanks need to be attended. I love, love, love this unit and would buy it again.

I got the Tineco floor washer to try in place of my robotic vacuum, which is pretty decent at keeping the floors clean, but it has a lot of technical issues. I like the design of the Tineco, it's actually really nice looking and isn't too heavy. It does take up as much space as a traditional vacuum, so keep that in mind as far as a place to store it. I don't have very large closets, and I have to keep it in a corner of the kitchen. No big deal! The solution smells very pleasant, it's not strong or overwhelming but leaves a clean scent in the air. As far as cleaning, it's awesome! I have these faux wood vinyl floors that are different than any other home I've lived in, and things seem to stick to them more than I'm used to? I have a large dog and an adventurous cat, and they're both little weirdos about eating certain things. They like to bring wet food and treats OUT of the bowl and take it to different corners of the room and eat it off the floor! 😊 They're also both indoor/outdoor, and anyone who has a cat can relate to their habit of bringing you 'gifts' into the house. Grosses me out and although I spot mop behind it, I feel much better after using the Tineco once per week. I can't catch everything they're doing, and anytime my bare feet touch the floor - I just can't! Pet hair, yard debris and dirt make their way into the house constantly. So the fact that the unit does both vacuuming and mopping at the same time is just the best for me. I do feel like even though three pet rollers are included, if you use the unit too often, these will need to be replaced pretty frequently. Haven't looked into the cost of that yet, I'm keeping it to once per week. The floors take about as much time to dry as with a regular mop, in my opinion, I run the ceiling fans when I use it, and I don't really mop the entire floor at once, keeping more to the higher traffic areas like in front of entry doors and in the kitchen. I haven't used the cleaning attachment yet, so I can't speak to that. But I'm quite happy with my Tineco so far!

I was always skeptical of wet vacuums. I had tried several in the past, all of them from well-known companies. While their dry vacuums had little to complain about, I was never really impressed with the wet vacuums and kind of swore them off. The Tineco Floor Washer Pet 5 series definitely did break my reservations about them. Setup is very straightforward. You just have to insert the handle into the body which should just click into place. Before first use, make sure you charge it all the way. Charging from empty to full does seem to take at least a few hours. I did not time exactly Battery life is ~30 minutes. They advertise "up to" 35 minutes which is on the lowest setting. I just kept it on auto. With this run time, I found that it is useful for either deep cleaning a small area or just a quick sweep of a larger area. I really think what set the Tineco apart from the other wet vacuums I have used is the handling. It is not too heavy in the hand and handles very well. In terms of its cleaning performance, it was a mixed bag. It should be known that wet vacuums are not intended to replace dedicated dry vacuums no matter what they may advertise it as. In terms of the wet vacuum performance, I think it does very well for a quick clean that might require more than a quick vacuum. I would typically follow up a dry vacuum with the Tineco and was happy with the results. For caked in and old dry messes, it was not very effective. One of the annoying parts of wet vacuums is definitely the cleanup. You don't want to leave it wet. Sure this has a "self-cleaning" function but you still have to clean the water tank and roller. Thus, this isn't a vacuum you can just whip out for a quick clean. All in all, I think if you are familiar with wet vacuums, then the Tineco Floor Washer Pet 5 series is definitely a good option to consider. It can't replace a good dedicated dry vacuum but it can certainly supplement a good clean.

Thank you so much for your detailed and thoughtful review! We're thrilled to hear that the Tineco Floor Washer Pet 5 series has changed your perspective on wet vacuums and that you found the setup straightforward and the handling impressive. It's great to know that you appreciate its performance for quick cleans and the battery life, even though it may not fully meet the advertised time on higher settings.

We understand your point about the cleaning performance being a mixed bag, particularly for more stubborn messes, and we appreciate your realistic expectations about the limitations of wet vacuums compared to dedicated dry vacuums. Your feedback on the cleanup process is also noted, and we recognize that the self-cleaning function, while helpful, doesn't eliminate the need for some manual maintenance.

Thank you for choosing our product and for providing such valuable insights. We are committed to continuously improving our products and services, and your feedback helps us in that mission. We look forward to serving you even better in the future!

We were on the lookout for something to clean our hardwoods and bathroom floors (tile and laminate). The vacuums do a decent job of getting dog hair up and general cleaning, but always back to the mop to actually clean them. This thing seemed like a great option without pulling out a mop & bucket. It almost replaces those, but just falls short. 1. Packaging - It comes in a very manageable box and goes together very quickly and very easily. It has a charging base meant to hold spares and accessories. The base is pretty cheap plastic so it doesn't give a lot of support, but it holds the cleaner very well. We only keep the spare brush/roller in the other side and it's fine. 2. Water - The clean water reservoir is easy to remove, holds a decent amount of water for the size of the cleaner, and is pretty easy to fill. It has well defined lines for cleaning solution versus water, an easy to remove and replace cap, and a solid seal to prevent leaking during transfer. The dirty reservoir is also easy to remove, but is less friendly to dump. It is meant to be a remove and dump, but its shape requires you to dump, shift, and dump until it's empty. I then rinse it out and repeat the process because it never feels like I really got it clean without doing so. 3. Use - Using the cleaner is very simple and straight forward. It has a gravity controlled handle so you can just step on the head and lower the handle to start using it. The power and control buttons are right by your thumb so they're easy to press. There's no dry mode (short of leaving the water empty) so it's vacuum and mop each time. As you move it back and forth like a vacuum, it cleans and mops at the same time. The roller is good at picking up larger debris and has decent pressure for the mopping aspect. However, its greatest weakness, in our opinion, is that it does have enough weight to truly scrub out sticky messes. We've had soda spill and the cleaner did a good surface level job of cleaning it up, but it was still the sticky in spots and we had to take a sponge to deep clean it. The handle and the head move easily and it's extremely flexible. However, the head is too large to fit behind a toilet or pedestal sink. It works great in the kitchen against the baseboards, along the island, and under our dining table. 4. Technology - This thing talks, a lot. It tells you when its charging, when it's changing modes, when to empty the tank, etc. It's nice and annoying at the same time. I'm not demoting it because of that, but I am looking for a way to turn voice prompts off. Overall I'm happy with it because it does a good enough job of mopping that we can stretch out deep cleans for a longer time. I'm guessing we use this thing about every 2-3 days and we'll end up doing a traditional mop every 3 months or so. Definitely worthwhile and effective, even if not perfect.

Easy to use, excellent cleaning, but long charging

That packaging could certainly do with improvement. Each piece was individually wrapped in clear bags but I had to refer to the manual as each bag was in a different language. This obviously will create confusion, especially if the manual were to not have been included or if the additional pieces were not listed in it. Once identified, assembly went smoothly. Charging takes 4 hours, that's a long time! Adding water a capful of cleaning fluid was simple. Now it was a matter of waiting. Cleaning my tile floors was easy as was the wood flooring though it was not completely successful on first cleaning. I noticed that it took some work on a few areas we're something was stuck. It did give a nice shine on wood without soaking it which gave it an improved appearance. Unfortunately, it does not hold a charge for a long time. 30 minutes is not that long, especially if you have a larger home. So back to charger to wait. While waiting cleaning the water reserve, it comes apart nicely and was easy to clean, and reassembling it back together was a breeze. It’s easy to use, does not flood the floor or leave behind puddles. We did have some difficulty with the roller as it does not release easily. Though that’s just going to require patience and practice. While machine is on, it's hard to hear the voice prompts. The biggest disappointment and place for improvement would be the Charge Capacity and the Charging time. The fact that it only has a use time of 30-35 minutes, but takes 4-5 hours to charge is quite unfortunate. With the technology we have available today, it should be capable of fast charging, or at the very least, offer an option to fast charge when you need it asap and when you’re not needing to use it, let it trickle charge. I love that it's cordless, however, maybe an option to run it corded if you’re tackling a more stubborn or larger space would help to offset the terrible charging time. It does have a 3-year limited warranty which is very nice and not something you see very often anymore. All in all, it is easy to use. Not a lightweight unit but bearable. Things to improve on, charge time, information on cleaning fluid like price, where to buy, volume of prompts as well as clear and concise instructions, especially on the individual pieces.

This wet / dry vacuum is a game changer. You save so much time with just one device. Rather than take out a mop, sponges, paper towels, buckets, brooms and a vacuum… you just need this one cleaner. Immediately I felt intimidated by the whole “wet” tank situation, but this design so to simple to use. I think the hesitation comes from being worried about vacuuming up water and ruining your vacuum. But this isn’t possible with this wet and dry vacuum cleaner. I think that’s the magic of it. You can pick up debris without stopping or worrying about damaging your cleaner. The other exciting part is that the vacuum is completely cordless when using. It makes it even more efficient and faster to clean up messes. The battery has about a 35 minute life, which doesn’t sound like a lot…. but when you consider how much time you’ll be saving when cleaning beside this cleaner does it all at once. I never had a cleaning session where I couldn’t complete the cleaning because of the battery. If anything I felt like I had tons of time left over. This vacuum is a must have for any one with hard floors throughout their home.

A welcome upgrade from a previous Tineco

After 25 months of use, my previous Tineco Floorwasher found itself in a software boot loop that rendered it unable to be used. With an expired warranty, replacing it with a new model made sense to me. Our dog Milo sheds black thin hairs at a rate of a few million a day so any floor cleaning product designed for pet owners piques my interest. After a week of use I’m happy with the upgrades but there is still room for improvement. The body of the unit has undergone a few welcome upgrades from previous iterations. The handle grip and buttons are unchanged except in color, but the rest of the body has been slimmed down. Previously the water tank and the waste bin were both on the front of the unit which felt cramped and made the unit front heavy. Tineco has moved the clean water tank to the rear of the body allowing for a larger storage tank (33% larger) which also always for a better balance when cleaning with the product. In my house with the original product I had to clean part of the house, refill the tank and continue; now the tank is large enough that I can complete all the rooms in one cleaning session instead of having to empty and refill the tank. The larger tank alone was worth the upgrade. With any cleaning product the filter need to be replaced, mop heads need to be changed periodically, and cleaning solution needs to be purchased. I had invested in several of these from my previous product and I was disappointed to find the only thing I can re-use from the current product is the cleaning solution due to all of the design changes in shape and size. This is also true of the docking station. While the size of the mop has not changed, the method to attach the mop to the body is new rendering it impossible to use my existing stock of spares. The new unit ships with 3 mops and 2 filters (replace every 6 months) so I won’t need to buy anything new for a while but in today’s age of environmental responsibility it’s a shame more of the previous product can’t be reused. There’s also a cleaning brush included but it works about as well as a wet noodle so I would not count on it being of any use. As to cleaning efficiency, until the mop gets really wet the product still leaves wet/dry streaks on the floor so one must re-mop the same spot multiple times during the early stages of the cleaning cycle. The color wheel used to indicate if you need to hover over a spot to continue cleaning works well on our hardwoods and our flat tiles in one of our bathrooms. The sensor struggles with depth perception illustrated by our guest bathroom which is hundreds of tiny bubble circle tile. In this guest bathroom the sensor can’t make heads or tails of “clean” vs “dirty.” The suction of this model has improved though its still not as powerful as a stand alone vacuum cleaner. What has worked for us is to use a combination of robot vacuums (that also mop) to handle the majority of the vacuum and mopping in our house then use the Tineco as a spot cleaning tool in between robot cleanings. Overall we love the improvements from the previous model.

    Sensor issues

The steam mop did a great job cleaning — it worked really well and left my floors looking amazing. The only downside was the water sensor. It would constantly give me an error saying the water was low, even when the tank wasn’t empty, which meant I had to refill it about every 5 minutes. That was frustrating. However, thanks to my Best Buy Total membership, returning it was completely hassle-free. I was able to get credit and upgrade without any issues. Overall, it cleaned great — the sensor was just the drawback.

      Dear MatthewP,

We are glad to hear that the steam mop did a great job cleaning and left your floors looking amazing. However, we sincerely apologize for the frustration caused by the water sensor issue. We take your feedback very seriously and are committed to using it to continuously improve our products and services.

Based on your description, the water sensor was giving false low-water errors even when the tank was full, forcing you to refill it frequently.

For optimal performance, we recommend that you charge the battery after each use and clean the filter as needed. Doing this will give you the most suction and longest use time.

We’d love to assist you further. Please reach out to our customer service at support@tineco.com, via chat on our website, or by phone at 1-855-292-8864 (Mon-Fri: 8 AM - 8 PM CST). Your machine comes with a 2-year warranty, so please feel free to contact us if you have any questions or issues in the future, and we will actively work to resolve them for you.

      Sincerely,
