So the majority of people have Netflix or Hulu or Amazon Prime so putting these all together without cable / satellite bill is great. Video quality is 1080p and controls are very responsive, in fact almost instantaneous. I tried Tablo previous to that and although was functional, it is slow and not so much customizable. It is definitely worth the subscription fee for the experience and likely still more economical.

I am able to get quite a few over the air channels and this works great. The menu options and channel guide is way better than what I had with my cable provider. I love that I have access to Netflix and other streaming services on the same box and have been very happy with recording and playback features.

Great unit - records 4 channels, large capacity drive and lots of tivo extras

Looked for good simple solutions for citing the cord. This is a big part of that. Very good product. Just wish the subscription were a little cheaper.

Purchased this for a family member that wanted to see old shows that were not available on their other service. It works perfectly!

Frankly, it does EVERYTHING that my cable DVR did, but admittedly not quite as slickly. It also does a lot of EXTRA things like connect my Netflix and other accounts and could potentially replace my Roku device (but I will probably continue to run my roku separately). You do have to pay a monthly $15 to Tivo, but the rental alone on my cable DVR was about half that! PLUS the BASIC cable when added onto that rental charge was about THREE TIMES the price. Basically it looks and feels like we still have cable!

Worth the $15/month, much better than the $75 a month cable bill.

I bought this as a backup till I was able To get U-verse and it has worked as promised. Setup was simple and straightforward.

Great product at a great price!!! Very apt replacement for the cable box. I have already recommended this product to others.

Our primary DVR is the one supplied by our TV/Internet/Phone provider. It is slow to respond and for no reason at all, occasionally misses a scheduled recording. The Roamio OTA is our backup DVR and it responds perfectly, has not missed a scheduled recording, and will work if our provider's network is down. If it were not for additional content, the Roamio would be primary!

This box does amazing things. I have it hooked up to a HD antenna and it pulls quite a bit of local channels.

Tivo's OTA product does everything the Roamio product does but at $50, obviously because it only works on Antenna and not cable service. I'm loving it. I'm only disappointed that here is no Lifetime Subscription available at the time when I posted this review.

I originally purchase this TiVo to replace my old TiVo because it has four tuners but had to return it because it doesn't have component output. I need this to use it with my slings box. But understand they want to use their own stream service so I don't blame them.

Setup is easy and well documented including pictorals. Best Buy is the only place I could find this model

would recommend this to a friend for what it does you can't beat the price AAA+++

I finally cut the cord! My cable bill was entirely out of control- as with most people! I did a lot of research on how to go about this the best way and landed on the TIvo Roamio. I have learned that I've made the right choice. I DO NOT miss my cable TV. I will say, I do watch TV but I'm not an avid watcher. Maybe an hour or so during weekdays then a bit more on weekends. I have a busy schedule so a DVR is a must. When I want to watch TV, I want to watch my show of choice (from OTA or stream). I have found the DVR to actually be BETTER than cable. I have noticed, the fwd/rewind feature with cable DVR has changed, it's hard to stop at the end of commercials but TIVO makes it so easy. And the interface is SO easy to use. It's just awesome. Many say the negative to cutting the cord is you have to log into some streaming player (ie; Roku) and then find the streaming channel you want). With Tivo it is SO easy. I can turn on Tivo and have my recorded shows like i would via my cable DVR.. it's so easy. And if I want to watch past episodes of shows and it's offered on Amazon/Netflix, it will suggest and link me right to it. I can't say enough. I am SO happy to get rid of the horrid cable bill that I once had. I would suggest going with the cheaper box ($49.99)until you get used to it, then upgrade if you want more use throughout your home.. The negative, if it even is a negative.. the price of $14.99/month but honestly, it's worth it.. The setup takes a while but not a big deal- I think it took me over an hour. NO backlight on remote and not many streaming sites on Tivo yet. I do still jump to my Roku for HBO Now and other channels but I hear they are coming. Besides that, I really love it. I get a lot of OTA in Chicago so it's great! The picture is actually better than cable. Who knew! Bottom line, it's a good starter if you are just cutting cord and you don't want to experience cable withdrawal (minus the pricing of cable).. Good luck! Cutting off cable is a GOOD decision! :)

I love TiVo. Have had one for at least 10 years. Needed a inexpensive version for just over the air. This works. Service fee is a bit high !!
