not a great remake ,very repetitive gets boring very fast

The game is good but co op won't run in 60fps on the original PS4 it lags.

A lot of people my age--millennials--are nostalgic over the Tony Hawk series. The extent of my nostalgia for the series is that I read about it in Nintendo Power and lots of my friends liked it. I never had much interest in skateboarding or its culture, so I skipped the Tony Hawk series when the early games were releasing. Nonetheless, I decided to give the remake a shot, and I'm glad I did. Approaching Tony Hawk Pro Skater without ever playing any of the other entries in the series is challenging. It's a fun game with a steep learning curve. You'll fall off your board countless times while trying to figure out how to perform basic tricks. I typically skip in-game tutorials, but I definitely used the one here, which was helpful in teaching me basic moves. That said, the best thing was watching other people play the game on YouTube just to learn some of the mechanics. Once you understand the basics, you can begin chaining together combos while working toward completing the objectives in each skate park. These involve getting various collectibles and performing specific tricks. Completing objectives unlocks additional parks. Each round only lasts 2 minutes, so while experienced players may be able to complete a lot of objectives in a single go, the game is designed to focus on a "one more try" arcade-style gameplay loop. I found it quite addictive. If you just can't get a grasp of the controls, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 includes mods in the menu which you can use to toggle different assists on and off. Using this, you can prevent yourself from ever "bailing" (falling off your board) and you can give yourself perfect balance in a variety of situations. While these modifiers disable certain trophies, they still let you progress through the game, and you can deactivate them as you become more comfortable with the controls and combos. The game looks exceptionally nice. I love the fact that Vicarious Visions bothered to make Tony Hawk look like he does now instead of how he did in his late-20s/early-30s when the games were first releasing. The soundtrack is also excellent, featuring a wide array of licensed music which is returning from the original releases of the games, plus a bunch of new tracks. Accepting the steep learning curve, I would definitely suggest picking this game up. Others can probably give more details about how elements from later games were incorporated into the first two here. I can't speak to that. What I can say is that as a person who always had a passing interest in the series but never actually tried one of the games, this was an awesome starting point and it wound up being a lot of fun once I learned how to do the various moves.

For a game that was released in 2020 This games graphics Were absolutely terrible

Playing these remakes brought a lot of nostalgia. There is some new music added to the game but you can go to the menu to add and subtract any songs you want.

If all the OG's know how phenomenal this was back then , well its just as fantastic and upgraded to current gen. Brilliant game, and absolutely worth it!
