TV worked great until the 2 year warranty ran out. 3 months later it starts turning off randomly, the remote stopped working and now the screen is showing red lines all over

First of all, I want to say that this is a great TV overall with good picture quality, features and ease of use. The price point was really good as well for a 55inch 4K TV.
However, when I first bought this TV I brought it home and it worked great out of the box for about an hour, and it randomly turned itself off and never would come back on. My guess is it had a faulty power supply or something. Was instructed to bring it in and switch it for another one they had in stock.
The second one has worked perfectly for the three weeks I’ve had it, so it was likely just a one off defect in the initial unit. That being said, it was a little frustrating to have to return the defective TV. But once I brought the second one home it’s been great - zero complaints.
Would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a 55inch 4K TV with Smart TV features and at a great price.

I've had this TV for exactly a year to date. I purchased it on 12/1/2019 or so I'm told by this page when I scroll down. You'd think that I executed this 1 year later review with Ninja like skill and planning. When if fact you'd be wrong. I jumped on to check out Cyber Monday deals and ended up on the Best Buy website where I purchased a KitchenAid Stand mixer for my wife. Yeah, I'm a great husband! Not really, I made this purchase for her selfishly when in fact I'll be getting that O so sexy Quarantine Bread that she has perfected this year. I give the bread 5 out of 5 Stars. It was rough in the beginning, but got better over time. I compare the art of making bread to being married. We hit a couple of shaky patches there where I didn't know if I wanted to continue trying what came out of the oven, but eventually after practice I grew to love that ole ball of dough and we became close. So much in fact I now can't live without it. Some would say we knead each other. No? Onward we move! The picture quality is great and it's a 4K Ultra High Def Smart TV. I wasn't sure about Toshiba when it came to TV's, but this one is great and you'll not beat the price. I purchased others as gifts and seemed like a real B.A to those who received them. I use this TV for Streaming services and as a 3rd monitor for my iMac when I'm recording music or doing a Zoom Meeting when I want to see the 30 or so faces staring back at me as I take random screen shots when people are doing things as if they're all alone. I'm not checking back over my work ( sorry to every teacher I've ever had or made retire) so ignore the things that don't make sense.

Not much to say other than this tv is everything that I thought it would be. It's just like using a firestick except it has settings for inputs and tv tuner since it is a tv. The build quality isn't the best but it isn't terrible either. It's a plastic bezel all the way around, nothing fancy but it's expected with a tv that is priced this low. I actually got mine through the deal of the day for $299.
The 4k picture quality is great imo. This is actually my 1st 4k tv. Been using my trusty old 2010 1080p sharp aquos 40 inch tv with no issues for 10 years now but decided I wanted a larger set. The picture on this Toshiba is amazing compared to the 1080p sharp. How it compares to other 4k models I really don't know. All I know is that I should have made the switch a long time ago because the images Im seeing from this tv set are spectacular.
The remote is pretty much a firestick remote with the button placement/layout being a little bit different. There are 4 buttons on the bottom for prime video, netflix, hbo and PlayStation vue. The PlayStation vue service is no longer available so that button is there for show. When you press it it gives you a little message saying that playstation discontinued it.
There are also no numbers on the remote so everything is done throught the circle navigation button. That's not an issue for me as I don't watch tv stations. You can pair a bluetooth keyboard to the tv the same way you can with a firestick so you can have number and letter access that way. All in all I like this tv a lot. I would definitely recommend this to anyone especially when it's on sale.

the picture quality is nice and the tv itself is lightweight and sturdy at the same time. easy to install. the built in FireTV is convenient that you only have one remote to control the tv and FireTV but the software is constantly needing to be restarted because the apps will hang. (can't complain too much about the FireTV built in though because my other amazon devices have the same problems as this one.)

The clarity on this TV is unbelievable! I have never seen such a clear, crisp picture on screen before. The color is perfect and the clarity cannot be beat. It sets up out of the box in about 5 minutes. The only thing I had to do was add a couple of apps and I was set. I got a great price and expect it to last years.

Very good picture. Easy to operate. Decent price. Only one issue, and this tv is not alone. If you have sound running out through optical out, you can't control volume with remote. Seems like it would be an easy and inexpensive feature to include on a tv like this.

This television shows a spectacular picture! The colors are vibrant and it makes shows come life. It is very lightweight which makes wall mounting very easy. It was not hard to program. My senior parents are easily able to use the remote to get to their shows. This is a great purchase

excellent tv for the price.
Pros: value, firetv, built in guide for local ant channels
Cons: very little storage for apps, can be sluggish at times, can only get 80mb on lan connection and wifi connection (my other devices get 250+ mb), no compatibility with spectrum app

This TV has been great so far. I’ve had it for about a month now and no problems. I was able to set it up by myself but a second person would have made the job easier. This is my first smart tv and my first 4K tv. The picture is a major upgrade for me and I love having apps like Netflix, Hulu, and YouTube right there so I don’t need to use a secondary device. I wish they had the spectrum app to watch live tv but that wasn’t a dealbreaker for me. Make sure to research what apps are available if you want specific ones as each brand of smart tv differs slightly in which apps are offered. Overall I would definitely recommend this tv.

The picture is amazing! It’s a smart TV so it has all the good stuff built in and you can set passcodes so your kids don’t buy stuff or view things you don’t want them too! The price is great, it was such a good buy and I would definitely buy it again!!

The picture was good, but I actually exchanged this for the insignia model of the same TV because it mounts a little lower (I'm sure a different mount could be used but I already had the mount). I had purchased Insignia first, returned because of a light at the bottom of screen, then returned this one and went back to Insignia (the light issue was because of a bad TV to start) and now we are happy except you can't get sounds from both TV speakers and Soundbar at same time. I did have sounds from both speakers when I first hooked up but I think an update took that fiction away.
Anyway, to sum up the picture is great on this and the Insignia models (use the natural setting for the best picture I think). Fire TV is great, so put the 2 together and it's a great buy for the price.

Good value for the money. Pros: good price, fire tv based, nice volume and sound. Cons: Picture not like a Samsung of course. Small memory in the system after installing 3 apps only 800 mb left free.

I decided to get this specific item because of a 1 day sale. It has Fire TV streaming built into the set. I set up the color scheme of the picture based off of input on Consumer Reports that gave recommended ranges. The picture and sound so far are both top notch. No need for a sound bar. Also, set up was easy. I also appreciate that the legs are more to the center of the Tv rather than at the edges which makes it easier to set on a smaller piece of furniture. This review is exactly one month after purchase. I hope the Toshiba brand still continues to be top notch. The brand name was purchased and is now made by another company, but so far no issues.

I've never been a huge fan of Toshiba, but I couldn't walk away from the price on this beast. The picture quality is fantastic, and the speakers put out some great quality sound. We don't have cable tv, so all of our tv type entertainment comes from streaming services so the Fire interface is perfect. My only real complaint is the Alexa of it all. Voice commands only seem to work to do a few things, like Netflix (even though there's a direct button on the remote which is faster than asking Alexa for it. During initial setup you have the option to name your Input channels to make it easier to get to the one you want (i.e. Xbox, blu ray, etc.) and you are supposed to just tell Alexa "go to xbox" that never works. Beyond my issues with Alexa, this is a great tv for the money, especially if you use streaming for your entertainment, awesome picture, great sound, network connectivity seems to be flawless (I've had absolutely zero connection problems) , and the one thing I never liked about Toshiba Tv's is how long it takes them to turn on when you hit the power button, this thing is on loaded and ready a split second after hitting the power on.

I have had this TV for a few months now and I am extremely happy with it. Excellent 4K picture with all streaming platforms and off air signals. Not a bit of motion blur, even while gaming on my Xbox One or PS4. Excellent color. The sound is not theater quality, but very good. Which TV has fantastic sound integrated into anyway? The remote is tiny and I have lost it a few times, but wait! I can use my Echo Dot to control the TV! All in all, 5 stars is definitely the rating the TV deserves from me.

3 weeks in and only 1 problem came up. Netflix started getting glitchy. After restarting router, uninstalling Netflix app, checking our internet... we unplugged the TV. That did the trick! Everything is like a min-computer now, so I guess it needed to reboot.
Picture quality is great! Ease of navigation and simple remote is awesome. Only drawback is how previews automatically start playing. With younger kids in the house, we don't necessarily want them to see certain shows. But the actual TV itself has been working as expected.
