if you still need a vcr
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.sometimes we have family members that won't let go of the past, butt yet they want to join us in today's world, well if grandpa still wants to watch his massive vhs collection, butt when you visit you bring a dvd, well this one machine does the trick. It's cheap, plays dvd & vhs & so simple a grandparent can work it. Since grandpa won't throw out his old vhs library, he can at least join us in the 20th century & be able to play dvd's!

love the ability to watch both mediums

OK for the VERY price-conscious

You have to have different connections for VHS and DVD, which I consider a serious drawback. It is not really 'unified,' the VHS and DVD are completely different control UIs through the remote. If you must have the low price, and don't mind the segregation, this deck does the job fine.
