I COULDNT USE IT NO MULTISYSTEM , VCR NO COMPATIBLE WITH EUROPE SYSTEM

Do not buy this product. The DVD player froze on almost alll DVDs played as indicated above. THe quality is very poor in general. I also had a l ittle trouble setting it up and the Toshiba tech support was very poor. I returned the product 3 days after purchasing it and Best Buy gave me a full refund.

We have looked for the BEST BUY in a dvd/vcr combo, have finally FOUND the BEST BUY!! Easy installation (less than 5 min); easy set-up (less than 5 min); soft-touch remote (keys are easy to press); great picture from HD tv & when recording, perfect. We record shows to watch later, can't afford a dvr, so wished for a recorder like this for yrs... GOT IT, the BEST BUY @BEST BUY!! Thanks BEST BUY for choosing the perfect product!!

should be easier and clearer on what to do and the fact to use vcr and dvd you lose picture quality

The DVD Player will spto working after about 10 minute, when it gets warm. The picture on the TV will freeze. Then it turns off.

For the most part, this is a fine unit. It loads the DVD's much faster than the unit it replaced, set up was a lot easier, and picture quality is excellent for non-HD. BUT... About one out of every three times I load a DVD, the unit refuses to receive commands from the remote. Sometimes if I turn it off and back on, it will work. (Oddly enough, On/Off does work with the remote, but it's the only thing.) Sometimes when the unit goes to sleep while a DVD is paused, the remote will not wake it up. This is true with both the supplied remote and my Harmony universal remote. I've replaced the batteries. Happens with both commercial discs and DVD-R. Seems to be a problem with the unit. And of course, it didn't start doing this until after the warranty expired...

We returned this item, I wanted a VCR to record programs. This item also required a tuner to be purchased separately and you could not record on one channel while watching a different channel. Customer service was awful at Toshiba, they were no help at all.

I bought it because it was supposed to have a VHS and DVD player BUT the VHS player doesn't work so we are only using the DVD player...oh well! Guess I'll just use the old VHS player to watch the old movies. Guess I was expecting too much!

At first, it only played taps or DVDS in B&W on my TV. Now...nothing. So, it's no good.

Overall, the Toshiba SD-V260 works perfect. This unit records vcr tapes picture perfect. Set up was easy. Remote could have larger buttoms. Almost didn't purchase when I read some of the reviews. Fortunately any problems that were indicated, has not happened to this unit. At least so far since I just purchased it. Previously purchased a Phillips VCR/DVD combo in May. What a waste of money. Hopefully I can return it and get my money back.

I wanted to get a Sony because all of my electronics are Sony, but they were out of stock. So, I had to settle for the Toshiba Progressive Scan DVD Player/VCR Combo. Well to my suprise! It is a better product then the Sony DVD Player/VCR Combo. Everything works great and the picuture quality is really good. Just the weight of the product is pretty good quality. You can not go wrong if you are looking for a product that is a combo package. This is one of the best considering VHS is going away. I can even record my VHS tapes to DVD's. I am happy.

I bought this unit to replace a dead DVD player and dying VCR. It's nice to get both in one package-and at one low price. The picture quality on VHS and DVD are good. It's easy to operate-didn't even open the instruction book. There is an extra set of front input jacks to easily hook up a camcorder, playstation, or something else. I can't comment on recording-I don't record in the room it's in. Keep in mind there's no built in tuner. But that shouldn't be a problem for most because most cable and satellite boxes have the RCA output jacks.

With a library of both DVDs and VHS tapes, we wanted to access all of our movies and not have to repurchase VHS movies. And then there are the personal VHS tapes full of memories...this is a great affordable, simple to use product that meets our needs.

It was very simple to hook up and the remote is self-explanatory. We have old recorded VHS tapes that we wanted to keep and watch but our old combo stopped working and we decided to purchase a new one. When we got this one to our suprise the picture quality was great, the old one that wore out had very poor picture quality and could not be tracked out but this one makes the pitcure on the old VHS recorded tapes look like the were brand new. My husband and myself are very pleased.

If you have VHS or DVD because you haven't moved on this is a great little replacement. It's inexpensive, easy to set up, and although isn't top of the line get's the job done. If you have grand parents or parents that refuse to move on from VHS and DVD this should keep them happy for a couple more years.

The VCR and DVD works as you would expect and have decent pictures. However, the price is rather high for old technology. HD DVD players cost less. But if you don't want to put your VCR tapes on the garbage heap of history, then you need to replace your VCR from time to time.

I am very happy with the purchase of our dvd/vhs player. It was extremely easy to set up. The price was very reasonable for the quality of product.

didnt meet what i was looking for. if the only VHS tapes you have are purchased ones ok buy this. but if your like me, with a stack of tapes that were recorded in EP mode, DO NOT buy this. it wont play them. :-( for me it was a TOTAL WASTE of my money!!!

Easy to set up, price is great and picture quality is fine too. No problems so far. Would recommend.
