This is a great DVD/VCR combo. It can do just about anything you may need this type of machine to do. Set up was quick and easy.

Very few options available. This is a user friendly unit. I would purchase again.

First, I kind of hesitate to buy it . But once I opened the box and read the directions, it was very easy to operate.

This player/recorder is easy to set up. I dubbed some VHS content to DVD. I hate the fact that it dubs in "real time",i.e.,a 2hr VHS movie will take 2hrs to dub. Wish there was some method for high-speed dubbing without loss of picture quality. Picture quality is very good on DVD at SLP speed. (8 hrs of disk space.) Unfortunately,I couldn't get my satellite tv remote (Dish Network) to work this DVD player/recorder. Tried ALL codes listed in satellite manual;no go. Toshiba needs to issue new codes for this player. Wonder if subscribers with other satellite services have the same problem. Playback is noisy! Machine has quite an undertone;maybe it's the fan. I find that annoying, myself being hard-of-hearing. Another disadvantage is that the time doesn't change automatically for EST/DST like some other recorders/players. Like the "resume on" feature which lets me go back to the last watched portion of a DVD,unless I eject said disc or set up a timer recording. Overall,it's an adequate DVD/VCR combo that does its job.

AN EXCELLENT QUALITY PRODUCT,WITH HD UPCONVERTION. MY ONLY DISAPPOINTMENT IS THAT THERE STILL ARE REORDING RESTRICTIONS ON DUBBING CERTAIN VHS MOVIES TO DVD.VHS MOVIES HAVE BEEN DISCONTINUED FOR MANY YEARS NOW,I HAD HOPED IT HAD A BUILT IN MECHANISM TO OVER-RIDE THIS.

Just got Directv so I needed a way to record programs to watch since directv usually carries only the East Coast feeds (so prime time shows are on 5 to 8 pm). This machine allows me to tape programs on VHS to watch or if I want to keep to burn them onto a DVD. I just wish it came with a built-in tuner. I'm using the directv box as the tuner, but it would be nice if it had a tuner so I could hook it up to my outside antenna to watch over-the-air programs too.

After using one for a year I purchased a second one (same model) for use in another room. Easy to set up, easy to use.

I was not told I would need an external tuner when I purchased this item. Didn't discover it until it was too late to return it to Best Buy (15 day return policy). I've owned three other DVD/VCR recorders and they all had internal tuners, so it never crossed my mind that there would be one that did not. I know there is a lot of newer technology today, but I wanted something simple and affordable to record TV shows over the air since I don't have cable. I called every retailer I could think of and I was told external tuners are no longer being manufactured for TV's.

I really enjoy this product. I haven't tried to record from the vhs to a disc yet but I'm sure it'll work great

Does an excellent job. Well worth the investment as opposed to having an outside source copy old VHS tapes.

This is the 2nd purchase of a Toshiba Multiformat DVD-R/RW/+R/+RW Recorder/VCR Combo with HD Upconversion. Our previous unit got hung up on an older VHS and would not eject. Worked great until then.

I have use this item to copy old VHS tapes to DVD and it works great. The owner manual is a little hard to understand in some places but other than that a great item for your money some people said they could not play their DVD in other DVD players they may have not finalized the DVD disk this is a must to be able to play in other DVD players I have had no trouble using the disk in my other DVD

Does a good job. Wish HD quality recording was better. I have a new, top quality Smart TV, so can't blame it on that. Overall it worked for me.

Not cheap but a very good product. Will buy again when I need a new one.

No complaints with this product. Haven't really given it a workout yet but soon hope to convert vcr tapes to dvd,

I purchased two Toshiba VCR/DVD Recorders. The quality is excellent.

We bought this player to transfer our old VHS tapes to DVD. Does the job fine and the HDMI output is an added bonus.

One button dubbing could not be easier...still working through how to only dub specific clips of a VHS.

This unit works as advertised. It was easy to set up and operate!
