Product needed to copy VHS tape to CD's. Easy instructions for editing and copying from VHS to CD's. Quality of the copy is as good as the quality of the tape. No other manufacture out there to choice from so Toshiba fix the need perfectly.

We have played both old VCR and DVD's and this unit shows them much clearer than the older unit which quit working. It also works with our new remote. It uses a HDMI cable which also minimizes the number of cabled we use. Makes it neat and clean around the TV Theater.

I have no complaints about the unit itself. The instructions are disorganized and complicated. I turned to internet reviews for this product and found simple, easy-to-understand directions. So far I have transferred about 15 VHS tapes to DVD and am very pleased with the results. Now just have to learn how to title and edit DVD chapters.

Very nice and easy to work with , the options of different speed such LP , SLP and so on could become handy , lack of tuner is a minus but overall worth the price , I strongly recommend this unit although VHS has been fading away but is a ease of job to convert your camcorder recording , the old ones and could save them on DVDs before they demagnetized .....

Bought this DVD recorder because the Panasonic Recorder I had broke and Panasonic quit making them ion 2009. The Toshiba i bought was the one of the few companies left that still make DVD recorders. Quite difficult to use because the instruction manual is not very well written.

I have been very pleased with this purchase. I have a lot of VHS tapes (family videos and TV shows and movies) and wanted to get them converted to DVD. This recorder works very well for that. I had to study the instructions carefully to do the conversion, but once I learned it I have not had any problems. The machine will actually do much more than just convert VHS to DVD, so read the instruction manual for more.

Like this item as far as how well it works, but it has had a "hot" smell .I wonder if someone returned it and the items was repaired? Otherwise it works ok .

I needed a player for my mother to replace hers that had failed. As she has many tapes and disks she was happy to have her old unit replaced. This was the only item of this type available. VHS/disk units are rare these days

I needed to dub vcr tapes to DVDs. It worked Great

What I found was I can easily convert family videos on old VHS tapes to DVD and then I can upload to YouTube. Now Family and Friends world wide can enjoy these videos.

I'm very satisfied with this product & it works to.

I wanted something that would play VHS tapes and DVDs that would not require two separate connections to the TV. This allows both to go through one HDMI cable, and I am very happy with it. I can't really comment on the enhancement of the VHS picture, because my TV is only 720, so I can't really tell the difference.

I bought this so that I could record shows that we miss but then I find out that is no longer allowed. The old VCR's had the ability to record TV shows when you were unable to watch them. For the price of this equipment, I am very sorry that I wasted my money. By the time I realized that I could not record from the TV, my 15 days were up and Best Buy would not take it back. I wasted $219.
