Records good but will not read or record on double layer.

Very reliable and works great. However, I owned another Toshiba DVD-R that was over 4 years old, and believe it or not, the user interface and recording options (like chapter setting and title naming) haven't changed a single bit in that time. C'mon Toshiba!

it does everything I want and more makes it easy to covert my family vhs tapes to dvd.

I still have a large collection of VHS, and many DVDs. I like to put one of each on before going to bed to give me plenty of time to nod off. This is WRITABLE! ONE OF THE LAST MODELS BEFORE THEY phase them out. Delivered to my front door. What a great product. Thank you Best Buy clerk for finding this for me.

I would buy but I have one similar, however I will review this item to compare it with my similar item, to see if there is an area that might be beneficial to me.

I like the VCR/DVD player, but I am very disappointed that it can't record. From the description, I thought it would. After I installed it, I was told that I would need an external tuner, but I am not young and do not know how to install things like that. Overall, I like it, but would like to be able to record.

Anyone that has old VHS home video tapes really needs this machine to preserve their memories on a more reliable medium.

I would not recommend this to someone wanting to transfer their old movies from VHS to DVD if your movies are Disney. This machine can't copy them because of copyright protections. If you are wanting to transfer home videos this is a great machine. Really simple to use.

The VCR is easy to use and it has both dvd, and a VCR

Easy set up and love the size. Does't take up much space.. Has two trays for different paper. Love that. Prints super quick! No complaints on this printer.

But try to pay off your bill with the check from your credit union you get the 3rd degree and then the des moines IOWA southside store refused the check.

Our VHS player stopped working years ago but we have a library of home videos and favorite movies on VHS. So easy to use and we are enjoying looking back when our kids were young. Recommend this item. Price was reasonable also.

Nice combo for converting older media to less old media. Smooth mechanical action hopefully signifies quality components. Have only used a few times , but, seems like a quality piece. So far so good.

It probably works well for VHS to DVD transfer. If recording from TV, it would be better to have a memory to allow for editing before DVD creation.

So far, have only used to watch movies, but like the fact I can transfer VCR tapes to DVD. Hope to do so in the future. I am rating it four stars because I haven't really tried its' many features yet.

It's very easy to go from recording videos to watching videos or tapes. I haven't quite figured out how to record from youtube or if I can yet, but will update if/when I do. Pretty good for the money. Some of these are $1000 and upwards, so this is a pretty good deal for this kind of product.

The units operates like a champ, Good quality and easy connectivity.

Description of item gave the impression it records vhs to dvd. It does not. While it will record vhs and dvd, you can't record directly from vhs to dvd using the single unit. You need an external vhs player. It does record dvd's well but couldn't fulfill my needs.

The convenience of being able to transfer VHS tapes directly to DVDs without having to wire machines together makes this unit well worth the cost.

Does not have an option I assumed it would (recording one show while watching a different show). Do not believe I would've bought this model if I'd realized that to begin with
