Toshiba used to be a really good brand .I bought this one hoping to be able to watch my old VHS and Put on to a DVD . The sound is to low and I just have gotten around to see if I can transfer it yet.

The volume output is mostly dependent on the level within the source recording on the tape and the TV or other amplifier. You might want to try resetting the player to its factory default settings to make sure no setting changes have impacted the VHS audio level. Please see page 99 of the User's Guide at support.toshiba.com/support/staticContentDetail?contentId=2842852 for more details and instructions.

Toshiba DVD/VHS Recorder

We have not recorded any VHS to DVDs yet, but will try that soon. So far, VERY happy with this purchase!
