I haven't used this unit but once and it performed as expected.

Purchased it as a gift so the recipient could consolidate dvd player and vhs players into one. It serves this purpose and is good quality.

We have some old vcr tapes and this is simple to use

First, there are only two items available that record & play vhs. Of course, they're both expensive. Then I needs a separate tuner in order to tape from it -an additional expense out here in the "boonies". And this is my second one in two years. The stores & manufacturers aren't doing the consumers any favors!

Overpriced by a lot. Best Buy is rarely ever a good deal on technology.

I purchased this item as they are no longer making VHS recorders. I have too many VHS tapes in my collection and I will need a device to play them.

great vhs- dvd recoreder, great for beginners, east to use

Bought this machine for activities at our facility. Lots of our residents use VHS for their movies, this device gives us flexibility to do either.

The Toshiba - Multiformat Dvd Recorder/vcr Combo With Hd Up-conversion is a good tool to have in your audio visual electronic system if you have a library of VHS tapes. The unit was set up easily and is working very well.

Since everything is going to DVR this is one of the last DVD recorders out on the market. It has no tuner. A VCR tuner or another DVD recorder or devices tuner can be hooked up to the input on the back of it to record. You might have to tape at the same time, for multiple timed recordings, a VCR tape too if your not home. You can run just the tuner of the VCR for non multiple recordings thru it.

if you want a tool for converting Home made VHS tapes to DVD's. It is not for copying prerecorded . it is a very good for what it is made for.

Easy to record old VHS tapes to DVD. Was able to preserves childhood memories

This unit mostly worked well to digitize old VHS tapes to DVD to archive. It did have problems with a few old tapes, but not sure if it is a problem with the unit or the tapes.

this unit is great to record dvds and watch vhs tape

I am a grandmother with all the Disney VHS movies from when my kids were little. Now my grandchildren can watch them and I don't have to go out and buy the DVD versions. This upgraded version of the DVD/VCR combo was well worth the money as the picture is much better than just playing the movies in a regular VCR with an HD TV .

It was just what we needed to we can transfer the old VHS tapes to DVD and finally discard the tapes. It is also a DVD player and and recorder so it serves several functions. Not too many products like this left on the market.

I haven't tried the DVD recorder yet, but the VCR side works great both for playing old tapes and recording new ones ...LOVE it so far
