Easy to install, good speeds, great value for the price.

I wanted my computer to be faster it's about same I'd say and it still crashes

This Toshiba 256Gb SSD was a purchase to replace 7200RPM drive. Speed is fantastic! Windows boots in under 30 seconds. Drive was on sale but a larger capacity SSD would be nice.

I purchased drive for my MacBook Pro. Great product at a even better price ... average 500MBs read and write performance!

Needed more storage space and this gave me just what I needed, at a fairly decent price.

Not satisfied. First time I put Windows 7 on it the hdd worked one time then bricked and would allow to reformat. Returned left me with another brick a few days later. Couldn't get a refund. Not happy.

thought i would give it a try on my macbook pro, unfortunately it did not work for my laptop. it might be good for windows.

I purchased this drive along with the Apricorn clone cable and software kit for my new Dell Inspiron 1748. Install was painless, though it does require use of the included rubber spacer to get the drive connectors lined up properly. The spacer is probably a good thing, as it does help protect the drive from vibrations. With the spacer, it's a perfect fit. Drive performance is amazing. I knew it would be a big improvement over the stock hard drive, but WOW! Booting to Windows 8.1 logon screen takes three seconds from hitting the on button. Responsiveness is often near instantaneous. This drive gets great reviews, though I understand some of the Samsung drives test out a hair faster. I chose this drive instead of the Samsungs after reading some reviews from other Dell owners about difficult installs of Samsung drives due to bios level incompatibilities. I should also note that this drive does not come with any software to tweak settings or otherwise manipulate the drive manually. I should also note that there is nothing about this drives performance that I would want to tweak. It's a no brainer. Backup your system image, clone your existing drive, physically install the drive, and boot it up. Done. I would recommend this drive to anyone, it's an amazing upgrade.

We recently purchased this hard drive after 2 others crashed. Both were covered by warranty, but we wanted to upgrade to a more reliable SSD. One of the big bonuses was the increased speed. Now boots up in 5 seconds!! We did purchase an SATA to USB 3.0 to image the old hard drive to this new one. Toshiba offers a software download that made this very easy to do. Once I swapped out the drives, it was as if they hadn't changed anything at all. Well, except for the speed. Hang on, it is really fast!!

Many have complained about the cloning software you can download. While I had no trouble with the app installing, and copying the data over to the new drive; it did not align the partition properly, thus giving me very poor performance. Alignment is very important for performance. The drive will work improperly aligned, but you can get 1/3 to 1/2 the potential performance. I ended up using another app to align the drive fairly painlessly and my performance was greatly improved. Other than that complaint; this SDD is fantastic, especially for the money. I have a Samsung 840 Pro as well, and while the IOPS on the Samsung will benchmark slightly faster (due to the extra cache included on the drive) the Toshiba, in 'real-world' testing performs just as well, and sometimes better since its sequential writes are often much better than the Samsung, even without extra cache memory on the drive. There are #slightly# faster SSDs on the market, but they usually carry a higher price tag, so if you want a fast SSD on a budget that doesn't compromise 'real-world' performance, this is the drive to buy, in my humble 35 years of computer experience.

This is one of the fastest SSDs out there! Even in a real life situation it performs well! I have two of these in my Desktop right now running in raid 0 and they are blazing fast! Toshiba has really outdone themselves on this one. Also, The form factor of this drive is extra slim so it can fit in an ultrabook! I will be buying another for that reason as soon as I get the extra cash.

In a nutshell, it does what it said it would do, ultra fast, super compact and quiet. Boot time went from 3+ minutes to now, a little under 5 seconds. Would recommend, however not so good as an external drive, didn't seem to be getting enough power with the external enclosure, when swapped from a PNY, the PNY did the job perfectly as an external SSD. Overall 10/10.

My son's macbook pro was painfully slow, especially on programs like Power Point, Word and Excel, which he uses in college a lot. I did 2 upgrades: 1. I upgraded his ram from 4G to 8G. The difference was noticeable, but not enough. 2. I found this Toshiba SSD in the store, on sale and a. did a full backup to time machine, b. removed the old drive and installed the new, c. did a "restore from time machine backup", and voila! It was like a new computer! Power Point opened in 2 seconds! He was amazed and so was I! I've now done the same to my macbook pro and it is like extending the life of a 5-year-old computer by another 5 years.

Toshiba like another reviewer said is one of the very few companies making great products still to date I opted this for the Samsung 850 evo just for one reason memory chips MADE IN JAPAN Toshiba is one of the few that still exports parts made in japan vs majority others made in china And Japan is known to send A class exports So far very happy with the product Great speeds, highly recommend

I replaced an old disk drive in my Vista based laptop. Vista is notoriously slow by today's standards, but this drive made it boot and run like a new machine. Great value and works great. The only problem I had was installing Toshiba's NTI Echo software for the drive migration. The installation hung my computer until I disabled my virus software. Then it went very easily.

This drive has made my MacBook Pro 2012 super fast. Feel like I just purchased a brand new computer. I was averaging around 60 MB/S Read & Write speeds. Now I'm averaging around 450 MB/S Read & Write speeds. Programs load a lot faster, and boot up time is a lot faster as well.

Installed in my Toshiba Satellite e55 A5114 and now my battery life is much better with excellent performance. Also quiet and runs a lot cooler..

Its still going! Bought this Toshiba SSD for my Toshiba laptop and also increased the RAM and BOOM! High Speed LapTop! Excellent Purchase!
