Out of the box, it had very very poor wifi reception in most places in my house, where other devices worked fine. When I downloaded and installed the wireless card driver updates, the entire system crashed to the point where it wouldn't even allow me to recover to factory install. This was my 3 day experience with the device. The nice thing, however, was that the Best Buy return and refund process was completely painless.

Once the upgrade to windows 10, we had to return the computer and get a different one. This computer didn't handle the upgrade well at all. We're much happier now that we have a different brand and a new computer with windows 10 already on it.

I had a Toshiba laptop about six years ago and the mousepad on it was also a piece of junk. I returned it to the BestBuy the next day for an HP laptop.

Hard drive corruption doesn't generally indicate a hardware problem, though it can be caused by any incident involving suddenly shutting down the system before Windows has had a chance to close files and especially if a forced power down occurs while the system is writing to disk. In such cases, running a Windows recovery or reset will typically correct any "soft errors" introduced by the incident.
That said, if there is a hardware problem Toshiba does offer new product replacement programs through our retailers and, of course, the option for a warranty repair if the problem occurs much later in ownership than was the case for yourself. In such cases, Toshiba support at 800-457-7777 can help with arrangements.
