It works great for her but the only thing is the wireless internet that it receives seems to be a bit slow or low at times compared to my desktop at the same distance away from the router. Other than that, no problems.

It will hang up and stop for no reason and it has to be shutdown and restarted to use again. Price was good, but probably not worth it.

I wonder if Windows Update has been busy downloading & installing updates. That's often the case on brand new systems, and if so it will tax initial performance until the updating process is completed. You may want to run the Windows Update app to see what it's up to, if anything. If it has critical updates to install, I recommend having it complete that process ASAP and reboot when it's finished (even if not required) to see if performance improves significantly once that process is complete.
We don't recommend letting Windows Update install any "optional" updates since those can overwrite drivers & utilities that are optimized for or by Toshiba. Optional updates can be installed via the Toshiba Service Station app or by visiting support.toshiba.com.
If you are experiencing frequent freezes/lockups, it's generally recommended to perform a Windows Reset to rule out the possibility of software or configuration change causes. Just make sure your files are backed up first since this process erases everything added to the hard disk after it left the factory.

Good basic laptop

You won't be playing any recent games, even on the minimum settings, and the browsing can get a little slow if you do a lot of videos, but if you need something to do work, emails and basic internet on its good. I updated mine to Windows 10 and it works fine.

It upgraded to Widows 10 without a hitch. It does run a bit slow on certain upgrades and downloadd and also lags a bit while connecting to the internet. Its a good basic computer with a nice feel.

Changing from one user to another is not as quick as I would like. We did get the free upgrade to Windows 10 which has not been loaded yet. This may speed the process. Overall the computer does what is needed at a reasonable price.

There are alot of built in apps that are un-necessary and if you un-install them it takes away other needed programs. They don't tell you that. After all the Microsoft Updates are done it is not bad at all.

Had one issue with not being able to connect to WIFI but that has seemed to clear up. Works pretty good for what she uses it for and school work too.

Easy to use and was a great deal! Only dislikes I have is the speakers and it feels very delicate. Speakers without the headphones plugged in is not that loud. The fact that it is light weight means it is very delicate and I wouldn't bring it on a trip.

I'm not crazy for Win8, it's not that easy to navigate however the pre-installed Pokki Start Menu made me feel like I knew what I was doing. The only problem I've had thus far with this laptop is that my mouse will freeze up a lot, and I'll have to wait about 2 or 3 minutes until the mouse unfreezes.
