Called Toshiba had to reset adapter settings and it now works great. Very happy with unit it streams video very well and is faster than I expected. Sound could be better but unit is worth the price.

If you are interested in using this for basic things like reading, browsing and the tasks that you would do with a tablet (but won't do since you do not like using tablets), then it is a good to go. One major problem that worries me in here is the connection to WiFi. All my other devices at home connects to Wifi like a charm, but the throughput for this laptop has been so so buggy. This one really bothers me quite a bit.

It is stylish and is attractive in any setting yet highly functional with no stress. Not like some laptop where they master you. This one is at easy and comfortable with you mastering it! This purchase was a win, win situation for myself. I have been involved with computers every since we use to have to key punch in high school. So to sum things up this laptop is a practical purchase for myself to replace my HP laptop.

I gave it a bad review because it kept crashing and freezing. Since then i have got rid of internet explorer and downloaded Mozilla. No problems so far and speed is really good.

I don't need to download so I don't know about that, but for my needs it is working well. I usually just surf the net. I was also able to watch a movie from Netflix.

Windows 8.1 doesn't perform as well as Win 7 and you do not have a choice of operating systems. Other than that, this is a great computer for the price.

The perceived speed & responsiveness of any PC will depend somewhat on the number of programs and processes currently running on the unit at any point in time, and their respective demands on various components, subsystems, and networking resources. Rebooting Windows and then checking performance after loading each individual app is one way to determine when the resource load begins to impact performance, and which apps most impact performance.
I understand that you already returned the unit, but for the benefit of others who might need help troubleshooting performance issues on any Windows PC, performing a System Recovery (reverting to the original factory software installation) is the most straightforward way to determine whether you’re experiencing a software or hardware issue. If the laptop doesn't work with the factory software installation, that strongly suggests that there might be a hardware problem that requires repair. The System Recovery process will remove all personal data, configuration changes, and software added after the laptop left the factory so it's important to first back up any critical data.

Works perfectly. She has it connected to a tv screen for a larger view and everything has worked spectacularly. Was oh so easy to set up even with having to make a new account. Almost effortless. Was surprised that I didn't have to do a whole lot of dumping of unnecessary programs, but did take out a few I knew she'd never use. For the money, it can't be beat. It went on sale for a couple of days so it was a win/win.
