bad power supply
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.there's problem with chargers. they reset the device when they are plugged in. I lost too much data for this, I hope service can repair at no charge, this is unfair. Also a letter from the keyboard got lost, they don't take the responsibility and asking for $150 replacement, I hated this device. don't buy it.

Was not the product I opted for..
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had asked for a specific model-my bad for NOT double checking the product BEFORE leaving store-'trusted' the clerk to believe he knew what he gave me was what I was looking at in the store.. Called store, but because it was after the return policy, they would give me 'credit' cuz they did not have the model of computer I wanted in stock.

Worst computer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the least functional computer I have ever purchased. It is slow, often does Not complete the function I have tried to open. I complained to tosheba, I was considering a dell but the sale person said the tosheba was the better of the two.

You're gonna need time to get used to this design
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. At first I was very skeptical of Toshiba, but now I believe they are in the business of making really good technology that may rival those that surpassed them such as Apple, HP, Dell, and even Lenovo. In looking for a new laptop for school and play, I read reviews throughout from gaming laptops to 2 in 1's. I sat on the decision to pull the trigger on purchasing a laptop until the price was right for the coinciding specs. Low and behold the GEEK gods lit up my path towards this Toshiba laptop. It is the top of the line in terms of processor and innovation, and $120 off the market price. I wasn't immediately sold because it was a Toshiba, but the Toshiba support team answered my questions to the tee. This laptop comes with a starterpack of games and software valuing over $300, and an antivirus software subscription for 1 year. Some stores do not have this model on display, and I had to ask the sales rep for this item they had in stock. This is a good thing because it means those who do their research, gets the worm. They did have a similar model on the floor, but not the exact model via processor and HD size. The design is sleek and the feel is very hi tech. I was using a Samsung touch ATIV laptop before I bought this computer, and this for sure has blown it out of the water. This new generation 2 in 1 laptop is the next big this to happen according to CNES 2016 and other laptop magazine reviews, and I want to be in the forefront of innovation, especially since the computer industry's label for "obsolete" comes very quick. I highly recommend this laptop to those who want to invest in their technological future. The touchscreen and crisp display, along with the latest and greatest processor will allow for years of satisfaction, especially watching 2 in 1's being taken to another level in 2016. If this model is not for you, then I would recommend to do research on what you would like your laptop to do, because the right machine is out there for everyone. Happy laptop hunting!

Wonderful
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As a college student this suits my needs perfectly. Also I do play games from time to time and it works very well with all but the most recent of releases (The graphics have trouble). However, the letters on the cover in Toshiba have begun to fall off. I'd recommend getting a case as there doesn't seem to be an easy to get them back on.

Just what I needed
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I own a Yoga 900 for play and needed a work laptop with a 10-key pad. I've owned 3 other Toshiba laptops and I'm always happy with the key action and track pad. I have big hands and the Yoga almost looks silly under my meet hooks as my palms roll off the edges of the laptop. The Toshiba Radius 15 is a much better fit. The key action is so nice, it feels so good to me to strike it. My typing accuracy has gone way up with this laptop. One reason is the ample spacing between the keys which, again, suits my larger hands. The laptop is a 15.6" but, at a glance, could be mistaken for a 17" do to its width. However, its still very thin and not too heavy. I also really love the way this laptop looks. The brushed steel is beautiful and the contrasting black hinges looks high end. Super sturdy solid feel and build quality, as well Performance is great, as expected with an i7 and the screen looks fantastic. Its really got all of my must haves covered with the features. back lit keyboard, i7, 8gb ram, touch screen, 1 tb harddrive..yada yada. The "2 in 1" fold back screen is almost a superfluous bonus, although I'm sure it'll come in handy at some point.

So far so good
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my second Toshiba laptop. This one is replacing another Satellite that I inexplicably did not take care of. But anyhoo, I originally wanted another Toshiba so I drove 45 min to another BestBuy because they had the one I wanted in stock. Well after perusing the computers this one was only like $8 more so I got this one. Only thing I can't figure out and hopefully BestBuy could clarify, the laptop I have is not the one that was on display? I'm not complaining just a bit surprised. The display was all black and this one is brushed metal. I normally let the geek squad setup my computers but I decided to try the setup by myself and it went smoothly. I got the apps and programs I don't want off, downloaded the apps and programs I wanted easy peasy! I will be returning to school and hopefully this laptop will do what I want it to do. If any problems arise I will check back in.

Should have bought another
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Been having this computer for two months now, and I regret it buying it. After one month of using it the fan started to go on full capacity even if it was for the smallest thing like checking my e-mail. I always try to have it on a flat surface so the fan is not being blocked, but that doesn't help at all, or shutting off any background applications that might be running. The only time when the fan doesn't go on loudly is when there are no applications on. I know that all computers do this eventually, but for a new computer I didn't expect this to happen so soon after purchasing.

Has battery issues
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love the computer over all. The battery however went bad after just 9 months. Took it to Geek Squad, because its is still under manufacture warranty they could not replace the battery in the store, it had to be shipped to best buy distribution center in Kentucky said it would take 2 weeks. Then they said Battery had to be ordered from Toshiba so add an additional 2 to 3 weeks. Then I get an email 'GOOD NEWS" we determined your computer should be replaced. I'm not sure how that is "Good News" I have hundreds of dollars in software that is only licensed to that computer! That will now have to be replaced. All because of a battery. The computer would read fully charged but when unplugged it would go black. I will no longer by Toshiba . I had Toshibas in the past and loved them. NO MORE. Best Buy said that they are not allowed to fix Toshibas in the stores they always have to be sent out due to the agreement with them. So unless you want to do without your computer for up to 6 weeks do not get this computer. This is not Best Buys fault and they are working with me. Just a Toshiba issue.

Great Computer, just a few frustrating things
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love the computer, works great, looks great, wonderful... except it does take a bit for the keyboard and track pad to work sometimes. It seems that the computer has to warm up from being off before the keyboard and track pad begin to work. I have waited up to 5 minutes before it started to work, but usually only 10-30 seconds, It gets frustrating when you want to search for something really quick but have to use the touchscreen the whole time.

Awesome!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My first laptop was a Toshiba and and it was built so well and lasted forever. Had a few other laptops that didn't last to well. But Day 21 in this new laptop, couldn't ask for anything better and is amazing! Always been a HUGE fan of the volume button on the edge of the laptop. I hardly write reviews for anything, but had to since I was happy with Toshiba and the new 2 in 1 laptop.

great laptop
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this laptop the other day for work and or school. So far i am very happy with everything except one problem that i overlooked and is ultimately my fault. this laptop does not have a cd drive. as i am not very tech smart this was last on my mind as i assumed all laptops had one. As far as every other aspect (not good with computers) it seems easy to get the hang of. seems to run very fast and can easily keep up with my pace. overall minus the cd drive I find this to be a great computer. No wifi problems, screen glitches, or shutting down randomly as others have said to have. I feel the price was a little steep but you get what you pay for in my opinion. In this case you get everything you pay for.

Had to return
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was so excited to receive the computer. It was nice and loved everything. But it could never connect to wireless. It did maybe once. I called Toshiba and in the first call they made me buy a maintenance service in order to fix. Still after four 4 hour calls they finally told me they could do nothing and I would have to send it to them because the card must be bad. I called Toshiba and told them I returned it and asked for refund for the maintenance and they said I would have to call back after I spent an hour on the phone with them and them reading their notes. I called a second time and again after an hour they told me they would try and get it approved to refund. I simply disputed with my card after that. They should have immediately refunded since they agreed in the notes that they charged me for that issue and then told me they could not fix it. I did read about a wireless issue on these comments but there were only a few so I took the chance. My bad. If you don't need wireless it seemed to be a good computer. I need wireless.

Posted .Thank you for the review, Sad1, and sorry to hear about the wireless connectivity issue on your Satellite P55W-C5314 and the difficulty with the support refund.
I understand that you already returned this unit but for the benefit of anyone else who may experience this issue, I just want to point out that if Windows is displaying a "limited" or "no connectivity" message or indicating "no Internet access" even though you know that your Wi-Fi router is connected to the Internet, there's a fix for that which is normally installed automatically by Windows Update. Microsoft's support article at support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3114149 explains details about the symptom, cause, and how to implement the solution.
Toshiba also has a Support Bulletin at www.support.toshiba.com/sscontent?contentId=4008443 with detailed instructions on how to manually implement the solution.
Regarding the refund difficulty, if you can share the Toshiba support case number from your phone call, I'd like to forward that with your feedback to customer support management for their review.
Thanks again for the feedback and sorry for the trouble.

Embarrassing Poor Toshiba Product
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This product has know issues with WiFi connectivity and Keyboard Issues. It was purchased as a computer for a college student. Keyboard issues were solved with a wireless keyboard. WiFi issues were solved by a WiFi Dongle. Other issues included incredibly slow processing speed. This thing is just trash! I had to purchase a new computer just to give my college student a working tool. Please note that Toshiba's repair required mailing the unit into Toshiba. That does not work for a college student. I found the keyboard problem is with the ribbon cable (poor connection). Repair recommendation was to replace the keyboard. This keyboard design requires complete dismantling of the laptop. Additional time and expense was not justified due to the multiple issues. This laptop is now in pieces waiting for a time to rebuild! My experience in the past with Toshiba was excellent. Now I will NEVER buy another Toshiba product.

Sleek and Bold
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love my Toshiba 2 in 1 laptop. I enjoy the tablet mode and touch screen when writing in my journal and playing Spider Solitaire. The control and the lighted keyboard are great when using it in a dimmed room. I love this laptop!

Do not purchase!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Do not purchase. I purchased at BestBuy before Xmas and configured. Had two h-u-g-e issues that caused me to take it back. First is that it keeps dropping the wireless Internet connection. Happens frequently. Noticed same issue in other reviews of the Toshiba satellite laptops. Second and the one that compelled me to return it is that it keeps shutting down (a hard shut down) frequently. You will be working and bam! the laptop will shut off, suddenly and without warning. Heed my advice. Stay away from the Toshiba Satellite Radius. It has too many issues. ps: Great resolution and sound. Loved using it for multi-media, but it has to stay connected to wireless and not shut off in the middle of doing something important.

Posted .Thank you for the review, Tom, and sorry to hear about the shutdown issue with your Satellite Radius P55W-C5314.
The Wi-Fi issue you mentioned is less of a concern as I believe it's an issue that has been resolved. If Windows is displaying a "limited" or "no connectivity" message or indicating "no Internet access" even though you know that your Wi-Fi router is connected to the Internet, there's a very specific fix which is normally installed automatically by Windows Update.
That said, the unexpected shutdown problem sounds critical. I recommend contacting Toshiba support at 800-457-7777 for troubleshooting help and, if needed, to make warranty repair arrangements.
Thanks again for the feedback and for choosing Toshiba.
