Awesome 2 in 1
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I will start by saying that this computer looks spectacular. The brushed gold finish makes it look very classy, and I love it. It was easy to set up out of the box. I don't have Internet in my house, but I use my phone as a Hotspot and it connected right away. I have had it a few weeks and have enjoyed it. A week ago, it dropped connection with my Hotspot for a while..not sure why, but after rebooting later, it was fine again. The clarity of the colors and display is awesome-not blurred at all. Overall, I am pleased with this purchase.

LOUD FAN
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this laptop and the fan started making loud, annoying noises within five months. Its touchscreen also has a "ghost touch," which seems like someone is touching the screen everywhere (impossible to do anything, can't even shut it down normally). I just disabled the touch screen feature because it was impossible for me to use the laptop. My laptop started shutting down because its "cooling system wasn't working." Since it just kept shutting down on me, I couldn't even use it at all. I sent it to Toshiba to get it fixed (had to pay for $30.00 shiping). Within 2 weeks, I got it back, the laptop turned back on and the fan is nice and quiet. Again, 6 months later, the same problem occurred, the fan was obnoxiously loud. I bought this laptop hoping that I could use it and bring it to my college and take notes with it, but since it's super loud, it's impossible for me to do this. And now, when I play my game, League of Legends, its FPS drops to half than its regular FPS, which makes it almost impossible for me to continue playing. Before I had the Toshiba P55, I've owned an old laptop that lasted for five years without any problems. It can still run right now perfectly, it's just that it is outdated. Lastly, the way that its wifi connects is VERY short. You have to be close to your router in order to connect to the wifi.

Wish it worked better
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had very poor wifi with this laptop. Download speeds were extremely slow. Tried several different routers and the issue persisted. Also had the computer freeze on me several times. My core duo laptop with an ssd installed performed better than this laptop.

Great Features, Short Lived Product
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop was great for about a year. After a year, everything started to go bad. The battery life only lasts about 3 hours for a full battery and the laptop takes about 10 minutes just to boot up now. In addition, the network connection is worse than most computers. Whenever I go to places with free Wi-Fi with friends, my friends' laptops would connect to the network right away, while mine either wouldn't pick up the connection or take 10x as long to connect. I have now had the computer for a year and a half and every four days or so I have to remove the battery (which takes about 10 minutes because I have to remove all the screws) and put it back in because it isn't turning on. The first time this happened I had to spend $60 for a computer repair shop to figure that out. I don't reccommend this product for the price it costs.

TURNS OFF RANDOMLY
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.BOUGHT THIS 2-1 FOR COLLEGE, I WENT OVER BOARD ON THE COMPUTER SO I HOPEFULLY WOULDN'T HAVE ANY ISSUES. WRONG THE LAPTOP KEEPS SHUTTING DOWN RANDOMLY WITH NO WARNING. BEST BUY IN WACO TEXAS TOLD ME THEY HAVE NEVER HEARD OF THIS BEFORE. GEEK SQUAD TOLD ME THEY FIXED IT, BUT THEN IT DID IT AGAIN IN AN HOUR. I CAN'T LEAVE MY COMPUTER SOMEWHERE TO GET FIXED FOR A WEEK BECAUSE I NEED IT FOR SCHOOL. TOSHIBA'S CUSTOMER SERVICE HANGS UP ON ME EVERY TIME I CALL AND THERE WEBSITE SUCKS! I WOULD NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT OR WILL I EVER AGAIN OWN ONE. ZERO HELP AND ZERO RELIABILITY

Having a lot of issues
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this computer two weeks ago, I am what Best Buy calls an international customer. I was hoping this to work fine because I was staying two weeks at the United States and then coming back to my country, so it was literally impossible to get a refund in case anything was wrong. Saddly, everytime I try to use Google Chrome it works for about one hour, then gets stuck and wifi disconnects/limited access. When I try to get it working again, there are not any connections available and every single window I open stops responding. Same happens with Firefox. Also, touchpad is really annoying. Wish I could return it.

not as happy as I thought I would be
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Years ago I had a Toshiba which I loved and that's why I bought another one, seeing as I could not get to the store. I had to buy based on online information and over the phone. This machine is slow. No one can tell me why. Geek squad has done a full diagnostic so there are no bugs. It's just the way it is. It also sometimes takes a number of tries to do something, or for the computer to "read" the keystroke. This is most likely the last computer I will ever have so I can't replace it and have to hope it lasts, but it has been a bit of a disappointment. I'm also not loving the new Windows but that's another issue.

Slowest Toshiba I've ever owned
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.EXTREMELY SLOW. I have had 4 Toshiba laptops. My 10 yr old laptop is 4x as fast as this. I actually have to stop typing and let the computer catch up to me while typing a document or an email so it is not the internet speed. Websites time out before they are loaded. I called Toshiba who said it must not be configured correctly however they wanted $59.95 to correct it. I absolutely refused. I should not have to pay for something that came out of the factory this way. I will probably end up taking this to Geek squad or somewhere to see if they can speed it up. At least that way Toshiba will not be getting any more of my money. Either way this is the 4th and Last Toshiba I will purchase. I went with another Toshiba this time due to the fact that I absolutely loved my i5 Satellite. Poorest customer service I have ever encountered.

Poor Video Cards
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I read reviews on this product prior to purchasing it. It looked like a good buy. I went and purchased this laptop and within minutes of going through the setup process the video card failed twice. I took it back and exchanged for the same product, hoping it was just a fluke. Nope. The 2nd laptop did exactly the same. Once Toshiba fixes this issue, it will be a fine laptop. For now, I am finding something else. Don't purchase this product.

Posted .Thank you for the review, Woogz and sorry to hear that you had some sort of video problem with your Satellite P55W-C5314.
I wonder if you would mind explaining in a bit more detail what you mean by "the video card failed twice." Generally speaking, if the video card has literally failed (once) it will not work again. The reason I ask is that I suspect you may have experienced a driver problem, which could be resolved by updating the video driver.
If you made note of any specific error messages please let us know what they were.
Thanks again for the feedback and sorry for the trouble.

Terrible screen
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.TERRIBLE!! I had it not even a year, it never left my desk, so there was no way it could be damaged. and one day i come home and open my computer and the top right corner of my screen was discolored, not to mention the cheap flimsy screen, (it also squeaks badly when you open/close/move it.) Otherwise it was great for me, But because of the screen i am no longer interested. Stick to making laptops, stop trying to make it 5 in one,

Posted .Thank you for the review, moneytakers, and sorry to hear that you're not happy with your Satellite Radius P55W-C5314.
I hope you'll consider sharing some specific details regarding what you consider to be design flaws and what it is that you don't like about the keyboard layout. While there is significant consumer preference research that goes into these designs, we are always interested in detailed customer feedback.
Thanks for choosing Toshiba.

Great at first...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When I got my computer I was thrilled with how well it worked. It was fast and smooth, everything it claimed to be. After having it for some months with a few hiccups, it began going downhill fast. Now my computer's disk memory is used up with things required for Windows 10 and is constantly at 100% usage. It barely turns on and rarely let's me watch anything, let alone multitask. It makes a strange beeping noise that I'm assuming comes from it overworking itself trying to even boot up. You cannot remove the battery, so if you need to shut down and restart your computer it could take 30 or until your battery dies. This is not work your money, do not buy!

Not impressed
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Being an i7 processor, I expected the laptop to run faster. It also restarts ALL the time, while watching Netflix or on the web. I've only had it for two weeks so far and it has only been frustrating me. I like the look and the features but not impressed by the way it runs.

It sucks
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I haven't had my laptop not even a year yet and it breaks down. My power button stopped working, then the mouse pad, and now my touch screen. Its a crapcomputer, the funny thing is that wasn't even the original (same computer) I had to trade it in because my sound was not working. Two of the same computers that I haven't had for very long broke down. And I am a college student who uses my laptop for school. Its stupid and breaks down way more than needs to be.

Can't even watch shows on it!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We weren't expecting much from this cheaper end laptop; however, we expected it to at least stream videos from Netflix and Youtube. It doesn't play videos from either smoothly! You will hear audio but the video itself will remain frozen. Updated all drivers, graphic cards, flash players, and everything but the issue still remains. Spend a bit more to buy a proper laptop. Waste of money.
