This is only $30 than the base model 14 inch satellite radius which has an i3, 6GB of ram, and a 500gb HDD. The switch was a no brained so I returned the other one and bought this one. Pros: The touch screen works perfectly although there is slight blur when you scroll using your fingers. The keyboard is easy to type on and I can reach near my maximum typing speed (100 WPM). The backlit keyboard is also a very nice feature which looks great in the dark and helps to see what you're typing as well. I essentially switched laptops because I wanted a laptop that I could play some games on. The i3 radius that I had previous to this one could not run a couple of games. I have tried Minecraft, Terraria, CSGO, H1Z1 and Just Cause 3 and am very glad to say that I can run all of those games at least on low although some of them could be turned up. Cons: Battery is not that good, giving me about 4 hours SOT if i'm lucky. Luckily I have found a laptop power bank online for this laptop that I will most likely purchase. The fan is very loud especially when doing CPU intensive tasks such as gaming. The view angles on the laptop are not the best. I sometimes get the occasional stutter and boot up times take a while. Unfortunately, there seems to only be one spot for a drive so I will most likely be keeping the 750GB one that comes with the laptop unless I can find a good deal on a 500GB SSD. Overall, this is a great laptop and if you can snag it for under $600, then you will have yourself a beast for multitasking, browsing the web and even light gaming.

If you haven't done so, you may want to reinstall Google Chrome and Google Drive to see if that will resolve the problem.
If the trouble persists after reinstalling the apps, I recommend performing a Windows Reset. This will eliminate any problems introduced by software installations and configuration changes. It's good to hear that you like the Satellite E45DW-C4210 itself. Windows 10 may seem a bit foreign to those experienced with other Windows versions at first, but once you get familiar with it I think you'll find that it is as easy to use as previous versions and with added versatility and performance.

After one week, the hard drive started making noise. Then, the start menu would not work at all, neither would MS Edge. I had to return the computer for a refund. DO NOT BUY THIS LAPTOP!!!

I understand that you already returned the product but just wanted to point out that, while hard disk errors in a new computer are extremely rare, when they occur there will be cascading issues because, essentially, nothing else will work reliably if the hard disk doesn't.

The FX-8800P does what it's suppose to do. Google Octane 16000-18000 on Edge browser. Old game Skyrim high setting, low extras on 1080p monitor, very playable. You want to replace the hdd with an SSD. No big deal. Wifi has good speed with some minor reliability issues. I test the range with this laptop vs old in my office and getting twice the speed with 3 1/2 year old device. Move a room closer and no deference in speed. Maybe a driver update would help or a different card. Physically features like backlit keyboard and small charger are nice. I get the 2/1 form factor has broad appeal and reason to upgrade. But at 4.5 pounds the idea is limiting. Now lets talk value. The Toshiba Tecra z40 14" laptop is 3.2 pounds with 15wh bigger battery and dual band AC Wifi. No touch. It comes with i3 15watt for $699 on Toshiba direct. The PCB board is small for FX-8800P and with same 45WH battery it could be a 3 pound laptop on Z40 chassis! Different trackpad and Window home would work. 3 pound laptop vs 4.5-5 pound multimedia or entry level gaming laptop makes a huge difference. I know they don't offer that but it makes me consider the Z40 for nearly the same price point. Overall this is a decent laptop that does a variety of tasks well enough with a few forward thinking features.

Toshiba has extensive quality controls built into our manufacturing processes but occasionally something goes wrong that couldn't be foreseen during testing after a customer starts using a product. That's when the new product returns program kicks in with our retail partners to protect our mutual customers.
If you're still within your store's return deadline I recommend returning this unit for replacement. If not, please contact Toshiba at 800-457-7777 for help.
