I have now purchased three of these for use as TracFone Bring-your-own-smart phones. The screen is smaller than many expensive phones, but they are 4G and have Android Lollipop, which is good. (Just be sure to purchase the 2nd Generation Moto E (1st Generation is 3G). My biggest complaint is that there is no flash for a flashlight and the pictures I am getting seem to be blurry. The built-in storage is small, so plan on buying an SD card and going through the steps of moving photos, videos AND apps to the SD card. At 1/4 to 1/8 the price of an expensive phone, these are darn good!

Great Value That Doesn't Break The Bank

I just purchased this prepaid phone directly from Verizon on April 26th 2015 for $100. I wished I had seen this offer from Best Buy for $30 cheaper. This is my first 4g phone and I love it! I am a total novice and the Android OS is very intuitive and easy to learn. The relatively large touch screen (larger than an I Phone 5) has great resolution. I downloaded a few HD wallpapers that just DAZZLE on this display. Unlimited text/call and 1 GB data for $45/mo. If you allow them to Auto Pay through a credit card, they increase your data to 1.5GB/mo. No contract!

Great Phone, especially for the Price

Does 90-95% of what my Samsung Galaxy S5 does and it was originally a $600 phone. The camera could be better and of course you will want to get a memory card since only has 8GB internal storage. Processor was fast, calls were clear, 4G worked well. I would recommend this to anyone needing a smartphone. If you take hundreds of pictures daily then you may need a more advanced option, does not have flash for camera. Really impressed with this Moto E, was not expecting it to be this good.

Fast, but a little bulky & small screen

This phone is very fast for the price - every loads quickly and there's no lag. My everyday phone is a Moto X, and it's not that much faster, really. But it's kind think, and the screen is small - made even smaller because the back and home buttons are shown on the LCD, rather than being a physical part of the phone. The lack of a flash for the camera is also a bit disappointing.

Good speed, keep apps ,tabs closed and delete msg and call log time to time, and it will never slow down. Speakers are great, in call volume was a little low I had to turn hearing aid on. Camera quality is not that great, but at this price what do you expect? Has all features of my old expensive phone, which surprised me. Easily activated this $50 phone, at verizon , they of course still wanted me to pay for a $600 one, never again after purchasing this.

Phone is a great device for budget minded consumers looking for a fantastic device. It's also smaller in size which appeals to many people, like myself, which don't always like the new trend towards huge phones.

I got this phone to have as a backup. It's a very nice looking little phone. It is pretty well made. I just dont like the way the back casing is removed, it is very troublesome. The phone is unlockable as well to other carriers. Unfortunately it does come with alot of Verizon bloatware. Android performs well on it, though i did have some minor issues with the Play store.

This phone is definitely not as nice as my previous phone, but it does work relatively well, especially for the price. The screen resolution is decent, the speed of the phone is adequate, the ca,era could use some improvement, but for half the price of replacing the screen on my note, it seems like a pretty good deal in the end.

within 3 days of purchasing it barely using any space on the phone it is lagging horribly dozens of dropped calls hesitant keyboard good luck putting typing the letter m in less than 3 tries, it's so close to the backspace button you have to hit it in the right spot or even if you touch the M it will still hit backspace instead I wouldn't recommend this phone to an enemy let alone a friend

iphone 4s user change of heart

We have 4 macs and 4 iPhones in our family. I have been hanging on to my 4s because it's size is wonderful for my small hands. However after purchasing the Moto E for my 14 year-old son, I am ready to jump ship. This is a super nice phone that's peppy well-made and a great size. I would like to find a beautiful case for it, but who knows I may stop worrying about how much prettier my iPhone is. The Moto isn't bad looking just not as feminine. But the size is great for smaller hands.

I'm using my new phone now. I started my 2 year contract with an s4 that broke, the insurance for a phone is a joke and something no one should purchase ever. Then i had multiple droid phones now I have this. I have 6 months left on my contract and will not be renewing. If I could have started my plan with this phone and never had a contract I would of. This phone doesn't necessarily beat the others but def competes with $400 phones all day for me anyway, i will tell ya why. First, I don't care about the camera. It is still decent for the price, no flash which sucks, but whatever. Next, skins and how the phone displays its homepage isn't nearly as nice as expensive phones, but it uses less battery and really doesn't matter to me anyway. It just takes a little bit to get used to. Finally, I like a phone with a removable battery but I suppose its whatever. This phone is really worth taking a look at if your contract isn't over and your stuck with a broken phone. It does work on a contract which surprised me. I literally was going to buy the cheapest contract phone outrite from verizon which was around 300 and is no better than this. This phone runs latest android and a decent processor and decent ram you really can't go wrong with this phone. It feels very sturdy unlike galaxy phones which feel like garbage crackle in ur hand n get super hot. I highly recommend this phone and never write reviews I would pay the full price which would be 149 when it came out in february of this year all day but 70 is great. I use this phone for apps, internet, email and messaging and it works flawlessly. It does stumble a little at times but I don't think there's a phone that doesn't and may only be because 5.0.2 is new, not the phones fault. All in all if you don't need to have the best phone in ur hand to impress people buy this.

    Unhappy with operating system

I bought this phone after my LG Virgin Mobile phone's screen cracked. So far I've only had problems with this phone. It was a pain to set-up "porting" my phone number on my own from Virgin to Verizon. This took three hours, and I'm definitely not a newbie with technology. Verizon's website never explicitly mentions how to transfer an existing phone line unless you know it's called "porting." I bounced through approximately four Verizon customer service agents on the phone before finally taking it into a Verizon store where they were of little help as well - They said, it's because I didn't have Best Buy or Verizon set it up for me in the store. That's ridiculous. I had no issues when I bought my Virgin phone and ported the phone number. Verizon's customer service on the phone is poorly trained and so are their store staff. The store staff is only really there to help sell monthly phone plans. My biggest issue now that I have a working phone with my ported phone number is that the operating system is ridiculous. When I swipe to enter my security code, I enter the code and it takes me either to make a phone call directly or take a picture depending on the swipe direction. I can't figure out a way to just get straight to the home screen. Stupid. Super annoying and I have made a few accidental phone calls because of this feature. Another issue with the operating system is that I cannot get the phone on silent for messages. It's impossible. It will vibrate but never go completely silent unless I want it to disable ALL notifications meaning I don't get notifications of Alarms, incoming calls, messages, etc. This operating system will not allow for complete silence while still receiving messages/alarms/etc. It's always vibrating. It's super annoying. I advise looking for an option that doesn't include this operating system. I'm extremely unsatisfied.

    Broke VERY Quickly

I had a Moto G for over a year and loved it. Never had any problems.. until I dropped it in water. I tried to replace it, but after checking at 3 stores, could only find the Moto E. It was $30 cheaper than the Moto G, but worth a LOT less. Not nearly as many features as the Moto G- not even a flash on the camera. It was pretty glitchy from the beginning, but a couple weeks later the screen would go black- still rings and everything and can talk through bluetooth in my car, but can't see the screen. Eventually it will turn back on- sometimes a day later. If you push the power button and hold it down repeatedly, on and off for hours, it will eventually come up with a message that says "Android is starting.... Optimizing app x of xx... Then it will turn back on for a little bit until it decides to do the same thing again. It's done that 4 times just today and for the last 4 days straight after giving it a break for the last 2 weeks. Save yourself the trouble- search as hard as you can for the model that is $30 more and don't settle for this $70 paperweight.

Bought this, swapped the sim with my T-Mobile sim and the phone works great, I get LTE on it and works with no issues. I did have to find how to set it up, but its easy to set the proper network settings. Lol, thanks Verizon for the "unlocked" phone.

    Inexpensive Android phone

The Motorola Moto E 2015 Second Generation is a good phone when it's at its sale price. It comes with a microSD expansion slots which my Nexi 5 & 6 lacked. However, it sometimes lag because of the slower snapdragon chip as well having only 1GB of RAM. However, it's lightweight and I can make the most of downloading Android apps. It's quite durable and I enjoy the ambient display features whenever I pick up the phone.
