Got everything set up and the speed was about 40 percent slower than my existing Google/Nest wifi pro system. Unbelievable. Roght out of the gate just terrible performance. I dont know if my unit was somehow defective or it has an update coming. It technically works. Just slow for the price and claimed power output. Also the build quality feels very cheap, hollow plastic. Not a good plastic at all.

I go through routers fairly quickly. I’ve had all the major brands, some of the “junk” brands too. They never hold up. Usually underperforming on day one. This router looks and feels different than the usual routers. This looks like a concept game console instead of a robotic spider drone. It feels sturdy. No unknown rattling sounds. Setup took literally 5 minutes. Already notice a huge difference when using my M2 iPad. Things blaze in and out. Even regular connections like smart assistant speakers react quicker and load faster. Range is good, but not as good as my old mesh network. While only 3 of my 42 devices even utilize the 6ghz network, it’s still a great option to have. The tools for network management on the app are a breeze to use. Nothing feels like I need a Marvel Cinematic Universe scientist to operate it. Best of all, again the looks win out. My wife likes the modern look and appreciates the lack of antennae jutting everywhere. It’s a cute little bot sitting on our media cabinet, instead of an evil drone plotting world domination. With its impressive build quality and multi-year warranty, tp-link has muscled into the big boys’ territory. Hopefully longevity will also be a part of their business matrix and this router will give me 3 to 6 years or more of quality networking.

This review is preliminary and based on initial setup and testing on my network. Overall I am pleased. The firmware upgrade released on 5/6 was automatically prompted for and I applied it. Setup was very smooth. Performance and range is as good or better than my existing router. Adding Homeshield Pro was quite easy via the tether app. UPNP and WPS are enabled by default- so I disabled them for enhanced security. The IOT network feature worked well and allows for essentially two additional guest networks, in addition to the standard ones available on each band (2.4,5 and 6) I have no devices to test the 6 GHZ band. Multi-gig performance for my current ISP speeds was as expected and satisfactory. All rooms in a rather large area have 500 GBs/sec speeds or greater (5 GHZ). Of course this is device dependent- I tested with the S22 Ultra. The S22 Ultra itself easily reaches the maximum ISP speed. The unit is easier to place on a tabletop and integrates well enough with a room décor (subjective). The unit is not that heavy, and its size and design are probably optimized as a heat sync. The LED display is kind of playful and does give a clear indication when the router is establishing and Internet connection, etc. There have been reports with the BE900 (its cousin) of random reboots of the network- possibly related to the presence of IOT devices and/or decreased performance. Thus far I have seen none of this. If I identify any stability or performance issues I will report them and may revise my review. Finally, sales support was surprisingly good. Denrich was able to answer my questions. One thing consumers should be aware of is that this router is based on a draft of the Wifi 7 standard. Releasing a router before final certification is not uncommon- but there is a possibility the router may not end up supporting all Wifi 7 features. This is not a knock on TP-Link- but the reality of buying into a new standard this early. Further this router may not support Wifi 7 for a back haul- so the principle benefit right now of Wifi 7 in this and the BE900 models is Wifi 6E compatibility. However I am unable to test this yet.

One beast of a router, future proof

I can review this router in one word (WOW). If your looking to upgrade or buy a new router this is the beast for you. It's a little pricey but worth every penny and then some. Not only is it covering your internet needs now but it's future proof. When i say this router is fast that's just an understatement and is not fair to this router. Imagine a prop plane vs a jet fighter there you go. So i had the ASUS ROG Rapture GT-AX6000 and that's a very good router and this runs circles around it. I thought the ASUS router had some nice features but this blows it out of the water. So this just to give you a few drool features so get your bib has not one not two but four 2.5 lan ports and two 10 Gbps wan/lan port and one of those is a SFP+/RJ45 WAN/LAN Combo port so you are covered for both a fiber and a coaxial connection. So like i said future proof. So if you using a coax connection like most internet providers use when fiber comes to town guess what you are covered. It has 8 antennas wi-fi optimization and beamforming technology in layman's term it gives you great wi-fi coverage for every nook and cranny in your house. My house is not a mansion but i walked around testing my Wi-Fi and it never dropped even when i got as far away from it as i could. I was even getting a great signal outside in my backyard and my front yard. If you have any drops in your signal you can set it up for a mesh connection if you have another router that supports mesh connection. Now i did not test the mesh setup so i can't tell you if you need and exact model so basically two of these or if you can use any router that has a mesh capability. I am guessing you can but like i said i am not sure.So if you're reading this please check with the manufacture's website and see if it can. So in a nutshell would i recommend this router yes yes yes it's a beast. Will it cover you in the future yes does it do fiber and cable yes is it wi-fi 7 compatible yes like i said if your looking for a new router this is the one you want to get it's crazy good.

Decent WiFi 7 router w/ decent range; Bad Company

TP-Link as a company / brand should be avoided. I had an earlier WiFi 6 router (Archer AX11000) from them--literally their previous top-of-the-line absolute best router--that was supposed to get EasyMesh functionality almost 2 years ago. They then modified that promise to only provide that compatibility via "Ethernet backhaul" (i.e. only wired). So I ran Cat6a wire from one end of the house to the other. I'm now set up with this new WiFi 7 router (BE19000 / Archer BE800) as the main router, which has a little better range than the previous router, but now has fewer free security features for some reason but whatever. And then I attempt to set up the original AX11000 router as an EasyMesh satellite... no dice. Apparently, without announcement or clarification, they simply removed it from EasyMesh compatibility list. Setting up this feature just over Ethernet backhaul was already a backup / dumbed-down solution that was suppsed to be simpler for them to implement. So it seems the company is both inept and deceptive. There are several reasons to avoid TP-Link as a company: (1) you're not going to get ongoing support, (2) they've been shown to lie for years about feature releases, (3) they're now charging for what should be free network security features (that they didn't charge for with their previous top-tier routers), and (4) they recently had a security breach. Anyways, to sum up, this particular router seems fine for now, but don't bet on relying on it for years to come, and certainly do not buy at full retail (i.e. punish this company and do not purchase at any price above $300 unless they start respecting their customers again).

When I first installed this router, I took out my old router. That was what caused the only problem I have with this router. It appears that this router will only see the internet if I have my old router acting as a lan switch. Once I re-inserted my old router back into the system it worked like a charm. I'm sure that there is something else I could do to remove the old router safely, but it wasn't apparant and i've never had this problem before. The good parts of this router is that, once it's working, wow it's fast. I'm getting better speeds on the 6ghz band wireless than I was on my ethernet. There is no interference cause almost nothing uses that band yet. It seems to be working just fine and let me cut my wired connection finally (wish I could convince my daughter to as well lol).

Seems to be a good router, I have no complaints. It has alot of bells and whistles, and the app works great. I have the router near the center of my house, and i get wifi6 and 6e all thought the house. My house is just under 2000 square feet. I dont have any wifi7 devices, but im sure within the next couple of years, there will be plenty and this router will be worth its weight in gold.

Got this brand new sealed in the box from my local Best Buy in February 2024. Was a bit hesitant to get this, due to some negative reviews over on Amazon. I figured it was just early adopter user issues with Wi-Fi 7 and this unit. I've been using this daily for nearly two months now and it's flawless and spectacular. I have a 10 Gig home network (CAT 8 and 10Gbe NIC's) and a 5gbe symmetrical fiber ISP plan and I get full 10g bandwidth on my network and full 5Gbe+ for my internet. I paired this with an intel Wi-Fi 7 laptop BE200 module and pull 4Gbe up and down over Wi-Fi on the 6G band on the laptop. The router updated to firmware: 1.0.12 Build 20231117 rel.33787(5553) out of the box and has been on that firmware version since, to date of this review. I have not messed with any settings (OFDMA/MU-MIMO, etc.) , I just left everything on defaults except changed the Wi-Fi passkey to my own. I think perhaps people having issues are messing with settings and it's causing them issues. It's exceeded my expectations. I plan to just leave everything remaining on default as it's running rock solid and fast, there's no need to change the settings up from defaults.

A Decent Option, But Not Viable Yet

I'll preface this with, it needs some severe love on the firmware update side, and this is coming from a NetEng individual for a large and international company. Either that, or apparently I got a bum model(unlikely), as compared to some of my "peers" giving this glowing 5 stars. My review will be more in line with the negative reviews by other purchasers. Starting with design, this looks like some flawed hourglass timer or rejected Xbox. You have the novelty LED display on the front, if, for some reason, you decide to display this in a visible area. It allows you to view the time, weather, or emojis, and boasts Alexa support, but let's be realistic, this might only be useful if you don't have a smart home device or phone right by you to tell you the exact same info. Moving on to functionality, other claims have proved true for me on the lack of range, even in the 2.4/5GHz bands. The 6GHz range is even less. In comparison testing to my current tri-band Asus Wifi 6 router, I'm getting about -10dbm less in signal strength from this TP Link BE800 on all channels and bands. They were located in the exact same spot and tested one after the other, and then even simultaneously to try and differentiate the BE800's claims for Wifi 7, which isn't even adopted or official yet, that it can help strengthen signals on crowded network areas. I simply didn't see that put into action or any measurable difference. The area where this shines and stands out amongst other options is its multi-gig ports for connectivity. Though, how useful this is for the vast majority of users is probably very limited. Not all areas support gig internet yet, and even fewer people choose to opt for the top tier speed. And even then, unless you're using NAS, which 99% of homes are not, you'll likely again, not see any meaningful benefit to having those gig ports. They're a nice to have, just like the potential increased throughput WiFi 7 has. Speaking of which, with the standard not even ironed out, expect lots of updates to this router over the next year or so as they adjust it. There have been some meaningful improvement already, but compared to cost vs value, in today's world, and even into next year, you'll likely not see any real world difference in wifi speeds. As prior noted, it already doesn't have the range to compete with a wifi 6 router that's roughly $200 cheaper. In reality, there is no point in owning this router until wifi 7 is officially adopted, and devices start rolling out. At which point they will have likey patched all of the firmware issues so it will be a much better contender. Unless, of course, you just have to be at the bleeding edge of tech and like to punish yourself, professionally, I see no real push for this yet. Most consumer devices have just started to finally standardize and outnumber gen 5 with gen 6 wifi, so seeing many wifi 7 devices that can take advantage of this router are likely 12-18 months into the future as we look at next gen chips to roll out standardly then.

Bought this to replace my Google Nest Wifi from 7 years ago. Went from having 4 points to just 1 of these. Signal is strong through my whole home. Setup was relatively painless but I did run it into a powerline adapter to prevent from having to cut into any walls. So far very happy. Deduct 1 star due to the app still limited compared to online administration.

I pay for 1gbps speeds and would only hit around 700/750 on average with speed tests. This was due to my old router not being fast enough to handle all the current connections and pull down the full 1gbps at the same time. I switched to this router and I'm exceeding my 1gbps connection by about 50mbps (so about 1050gbps speeds). Works great and is fast.

Best Wifi 7 Router on the Market! Hands down better than any Netgear/blackhawk routers I've used in the past. Really happy that it supports the 6GHz wifi 7 & also has MLO support. I have 1,200 Mbps down Xfinity plan and am getting nearly 1,100 Mbps down over wifi, which is insane! Definitely a bit pricey, but worth the cost IMO since I won't have to upgrade for another 4-5 years at least.

So far the performance of this unit has met all my expectations. For those complaining about the lack of wifi 7 devices, that is not TP-Links’s fault!! Duh! LOL What is offered in the meantime is a very competent router, albeit only after a couple of firmware updates. I’m also lucky to have fiber 10gbe service here in the SF Bay Area and this unit finally lets me take advantage of the service. I have a 10gbe connection on my Mac Studio and I consistently get over 9gbe via a wired connection (that is blazing fast)! My M2 MacBook Pro (equipped with WiFi 6e) consistently gets 1.7gb (yes, 1,700 mbps)! All other “older” devices hit the respectable 800-900mbps. THIS is why I bought this unit. Also, design-wise, it looks nice and it is waaaaay better looking than the atrocious robot spider designs. I really wanted the BE900 but unfortunately it was not available. I am very happy with my unit. Oh yeah, setup was a breeze!

I have been setting up wireless routers for my home internet since about 2003. This was the easiest setup I have ever done. The tether app made the setup seamless. I named this WiFi network the same as my previous and all my devices except my laser printer accessed with out even having to reboot. The speed cannot be accessed completely yet because there are few if any devices able to use the latest bands but the speed on other devices has been good.

I've been extremely happy with this router. I think the best part to me is that with the BE19000 there is no need for a 2.5 Gb switch, as it includes four 2.5 Gb lan ports, not to mention two additional 10 Gb ports. I've been very impressed with the software and mobile app. It's nice to get a notification on my phone if something tries to access my network. The TP-Link software also makes it very easy to set up a separate IoT network (never connect IoT devices to your main network). My only complaint is the range of the 5ghz network. I knew that 6ghz would have limited range (that's just a given and a shortcoming of 6 ghz). The 5 ghz network does lose more speed over distance than my old router, but the speed benefit to WiFi 6 protocols vs. WiFi 5 still give an overall benefit. For devices that are not very far, the new router is MUCH faster, and with lower latency.
