    Can't customize at all!!!

If you have a basic setup at your home, you're not savvy at setting up a network and want it to install easily, then this is for you. I was completely blown away at how little you can customize this network. You can't even change a wireless channel!!! Just about every parameter is set automatically with no option to change it! Really??? I read all the positive reviews and thought I'd try this as an upgrade from my Trustworthy Orbi. (I've installed dozens of them for clients over the last 4 years and they have been rock solid. And yes you can completely customize all the settings.) With this TP-Link you can only change a few basic parameters. After finding out these limitations, I researched this online and their tech support response is that our software knows the best settings. Again, really? Also, a few other observations. After installing this network, some of my devices were not connecting and I did not see any improvement of the Wi-Fi speed over my Orbi mesh. And of course I could'nt change any settings to try to correct it. Back in the box and back it goes. I'll be sticking with Orbi. I was hoping this would be a great solution and upgrade, but unfortunately it was a huge letdown.

    Worst WiFi system ever…

Ok, no lie, this system SUCKS! I had the X20 system for years and enjoyed it, but we recently upgraded our internet speed to Spectrum Gig and I thought “wth,” I’ll upgrade the mesh system too. Since I had a good experience with the X20 system, I figured I’d stick with TP-Link and tried this one out. Apparently that was a really bad idea! I bought this system maybe a month ago and I’ve been monitoring it since because I’m a freak like that. Well, in the short time we had it, our speeds actually got worse consistently, we experienced buffering more, and downloading my games online just became freaking unbearable! This system does NOT handle channels or network traffic well at all! I had to run network optimization or reboot the system 2-3 times a WEEK because speeds were slow, videos were buffering, or a game was downloading at <5 Mbps when we pay for a GIG! Unreal! The X20 system that this system replaced actually operated better even being 5 years old! I’m done with TP-Link! Returned this garbage today and decided to try the Eero Pro 6E. Yes it’s more expensive, but I was already into this system for $400+, so what’s another $150?! Hoping for a MUCH better experience from the Eero because the reviews were great! For some context, our household typically has between 15-25 devices connected at any time, FAR less than this system cliams it can handle!

Great wifi mesh system. I first bought the be5000 that was on sale for 250 and it was dropping connections- underpowered for our 65+ devices on our network. Exchanged it for this- night and day difference. It's awesome!!

The speed on this is literally uncapped. Your ISP might be limiting if you're. speeds after purchasing this product are still slow. If you download the TP link app, you will see a lot of beneficial features that will expand your Wi-Fi range and your knowledge on how the system works.

Firmware defects - DO NOT BUY

I bought this about a year ago and it was mostly great at first, but it's always had some major issues with the firmware. First, if you tried to use wired backhaul it would get confused and just go into a failure/boot loop until you disconnect the wired backhaul and let them start up before reconnecting it. Then there were a bunch of stability improvements that fixed that and several other issues, but it caused major Wi-Fi issues and TP-Link currently has no idea what the problem is. The hardware is great, but the firmware is unstable at best and completely broken at worst. I have Wi-Fi that barely works and there's no way to turn off DHCP without putting the router into AP mode. The only UI is a mobile app which is trash, and they have no plans to change any of this. I wish I had returned it when I first bought it. My wired devices work very well and get nearly the full 3 gig from my ISP. My Wi-Fi devices disconnect constantly and sometimes the Wi-Fi just dies for several seconds under load and disconnects everything. These issues are fairly widespread. Check the TP-Link forums and you'll see. Don't buy this. Just don't.

lack luster. this did not increase coverage in the part of the house that our generic x1 router from xfinity has trouble hitting. In fact it was slower speeds by far in the same 'dark spot' than the xfinity router was and didn't seem that any of my devices saw it as a stronger signal eitherl. and this is despite the fact i followed the cryptic directions carefully and had all three scattered properly throughout the house. I returned it after about two weeks of moving them around to see if I could get a better signal. disappointing considering the price point and good reivews from wirecutter. oh well!

The range per node is greatly diminished by a wall. Wireless backhaul is ok. Speed is a lot better with wired backhaul. Unless upu have the speed for it most people can save moneh with wifi 6.set up with the app was easy.

The Deco system has a nice streamline design, while not having a large footprint when setup in your home. The units are roughly 7 inches in height and around 4.5 inches in width. For those coming off an Apple Wi-Fi Extreme series router/time-capsule, it’s very similar in size and white. No additional color options available. The Pro Pack comes with 3 total units to create a nice mesh throughout the home while using multi-directional antennas to aide in coverage and help eliminate dead-zones in the home. Packaging is simple as you have your 3 units, along with power supplies for each and a single LAN cable for initial setup. Each unit supports all of the latest Wi-Fi 7 (be) and below available, have 2 5Gbps/1 2.5 Gbps WAN/LAN Ports, accompanied single USB port, reset button, and support Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS). Setup is done via the TP-Link Deco app, which is laid out very nicely and walks you through every step of the way to get you going in a breeze. Initially, you will need to create or sign onto your account to go through setup. Once everything is setup, there’s a homepage in the app where you can see a summary of your network status and number of clients and devices connected to your home network. You can even add various rules to help protect your children and limit internet active hours/use via TP-Link’s Parental Controls. Parental controls allow for web service monitoring, building out user profiles for each individual and tie their devices to that profile. The user profile can then be set to limit, allow, or time control what’s available to each user to develop healthy digital habits. The AI driven mesh system uses simple intelligence to monitor the network environment it has been setup in and adjust Wi-Fi radius output signals and speeds throughout your home to provide the best service capable. These internal high-performance antennas may boost their signal at times to cover more areas in the home when the additional speeds are needed. The updated design allows for not only multiple up/down streams from a Decco unit, but each unit can pair up and determine the best stream to provide better speeds for the user. The USB port is important to note as there has been a lot of interest in maintaining your own data at home. This port does support Apple Time Machine use, but goes a step further. The USB port enables you to connect any USB storage to your Decco unit and create Network Attached Storage (NAS) for the whole home acting as a server. Overall, really happy with the setup and how easily this integrated into my home network having used other Wi-Fi 7 systems that set easily and suffer from quality of service at times. The amount of options for securing and customizing your network settings, parental controls are a big plus with helping create and develop healthy internet habits for children.
