I bought the BE85 (3pack) yesterday and I am very impressed with it so far. The main router setup was easy (connect the modem and the Deco unit with an ethernet cable and power the units up). Adding the rest of the mesh units was as simple as powering them up, they automatically showed up as mesh Access points (AP) linked to the central unit. I was able to set up a wired backhaul using the existing Coaxial cable - MOCA 2.5G for one of the APs and the other AP was set up with a Wireless backhaul. Ethernet backhaul setup was super easy - just connect the 2 units with an ethernet cable (with MOCA 2.5 adapters in between) and the system automatically switched to ethernet backhaul. I was using ASUS mesh network with an ASUS AX1100 as the main unit before, the max speed was capped at ~500 - 600Mbps near the router on a good day and less than 100mbps 25ft away - even though my plan supported 1.2 Gbps. Now with the Deco, I am getting over 1300Mbps near the units and an impressive 600-700 Mbps even 30ft away. TP-Link Deco BE85 checks the marks on the wireless speed as well as the super simple setup process. Can't wait for a WiFi-7-enabled device to check its speed.

Initially had lots of problems with these routers but after several updates they work well, some issues still if you try to use the 240mhz sized channels on the 5ghz band but that is probably on the wifi client side.

A long time "bring your own modem" person. I replaced a Google Nest Pro set up after getting fed-up with all of the ridiculous quirks. Google was helpful however my home had surpassed the limits of the the system and the flaws were evident. After researching for awhile, I settled on this TP-Link Deco 85, 3-pack. My home is an open floor plan however is four levels and outdoor cameras can be mounted a longer distance away. With the Google system I maxed out around 700mbps. I am maxing out at 1.2gbps now using the TP-Link. The app is super easy to use, and setting up a guest network was straightforward. Keep in mind that these are LARGE. Less than (but close to) the size of a Quaker Oats container. They have built in fans to dissipate heat but they do get noticeably warm. I have 40 devices connected, including a YouTube content streamer, PS5 gamer, cameras, and multiple devices streaming content all at once. No issues with bandwidth. Also using an Arris SB8200 which has plenty of capacity. Overall, VERY impressed.

Upgraded from an aiMesh setup with two ASUS ROG AX11000 routers because of (a) repeated, momentary outages of service with my old system and (b) several (and growing) reports of the Deco BE85 system incredibly generating wifi speeds close or equal to wired speeds (regardless of the connected devices) and (c) I wanted to future-proof my network as much as possible. I've got a 1G down/100Mbps up non-fiber plan with Cox. Speed to the ASUS router would routinely be 1300 Mbps. Wifi speeds rarely exceeded 650 Mbps and usually hovered around 600. The ASUS system's momentary outages in network service (displayed by an Apple TV 4K unit) were accompanied by some devices losing service altogether and having to be rebooted (and almost always knocked my wife's M1 MacBook Pro off the network - which gave me the cover necessary to spend the exorbitant amount on the Deco system ;-) ). The hiccups were isolated to the router and did not involve the modem. Also, the ASUS system had never gotten the kind of speeds advertised no matter how much tweaking of the router settings occurred. I researched the Deco BE85 (and the BE95) extensively before I purchased. I thought the BE95 was overkill and I wanted three units so I bought the BE85. My network coverage has stabilized, but I'm not seeing the crazy speeds reported by others. The speed has increased by about 150 mbps with this Deco system. I was routinely getting 600 Mbps with an occasional blip to 800 Mbps with the ASUS aiMesh. I'm now getting 750 with occasional blips up to 850-900 Mbps with the Deco. Setup was "problematic" only because it was easier and faster than the app suggested. I was waiting for the satellites to emit certain color lights to indicate their status when they had already connected seamlessly almost instantaneously. Other reviews note the lack of ability to customize this Deco systems' settings. It certainly is not as "tweak-able" as the ASUS system, but it is sufficiently customizable for me. I wanted to designate my own DNS servers and it allows me to do that. There are other customizations available too. If my memory of the ORBI system serves, the Deco is far more customizable than the ORBI. The ASUS system has network security available for free though you're giving access to network traffic to a third party when you use it. When I tested the ASUS system, there was no hit to wifi speed when security was turned on. The Deco has minimal network security for free and maximized security via subscription. I haven't tested whether it degrades wifi speed. With qualification, I'd recommend the Deco BE85 as a solid upgrade to future-proof a network, but it seems too expensive and, for me at least, is not providing the insane speeds others have reported.

I bought the TP-Link Deco BE22000 3 pack to replace my aging, and malfunctioning, Linksys Velop 3 node mesh wifi. This was the easiest installation I've ever done. I had the information from my previous setup and kept most of the same settings so as not to disrupt most of the current devices on my network. The ability to use the IoT network to isolate all of my 2.4GHz security cameras and video doorbells is fantastic! All that traffic no longer plagues the rest of the devices and their performance. I couldn't be happier with the ease of installation, maintenance, and administration of the TP-Link mesh network. I do wish the security software wasn't subscription based but rather a one time fee but I guess everyone is moving towards this model.

I bought this kit to replace my Orbi 960 system that was starting to act “flaky”. I also needed more multi-gig ports to accommodate some new gear and an upgraded broadband connection. I was hesitant at first because of the complaints I’d read about the limited web UI. Well, I’ve had the system for about two weeks now and so far I’m pretty happy! There is a native iPad app that is a great balance between flexibility and ease of use. I’m not a network engineer, but there’s nothing I’ve needed to do that I couldn’t do in the app. In fact, I’ve discovered functionality in the app that I never was able to figure out in the Orbi app. For example, I can now tell a device to use a specific mesh satellite. This comes in handy for printers and other stationary IoT devices. The throughput, of course, is amazing but I don’t have any WiFi 7 devices. I don’t need the quad band version (BE95) since I am able to connect the satellites with a wired backhaul. My only complaint is that I had to pay for a subscription to get the full security functionality. Overall, though, I’m quite happy with my purchase!! Also, I took advantage of BestBuy’s trade in policy and traded in some older Eeros and saved $225 off the price of the kit!

This is a great mesh system! I would say its the best on the market. Simple setup, very intuitive app, not as many configuration options but enough to get the best out of this system. I replaced my TP-Link 6E system with this one and the difference was pretty big. If you are a tech nerd like me then this is a must buy, the price is steep but it's worthwhile.

Decent Performance with Some Connectivity Issues

I recently purchased the TP-Link Deco BE22000 router, and while it has some positive aspects, I encountered a few connectivity issues that affected my overall experience. One of the main selling points of this router is its impressive speed. My ISP has 2gbps. However, I was disappointed to find that, even when standing right in front of the router, I was only able to achieve a maximum speed of 1Gbps. This discrepancy between the advertised speed and the actual performance was a letdown. There was only 1 machine connected to 6ghz band for my test. Additionally, the router's dual-band capabilities presented a challenge. While my machine connected to the 6GHz band experienced no issues, my other devices automatically connected to the 2.4GHz band, resulting in slower speeds and reduced performance. I had to manually force them to use the 5GHz band to ensure optimal connectivity, which was an inconvenience. Another noteworthy problem I encountered was being unable to connect to a Linux machine. Whenever I attempted to establish a connection, I consistently received an "unknown host" error. This limitation hindered my ability to utilize the router's features fully. Despite these issues, the TP-Link Deco BE22000 does have some redeeming qualities. The router offers decent performance overall, and when connected to the appropriate band, it delivers reliable internet speeds. The setup process was relatively straightforward, and the router's design is sleek and unobtrusive. Considering the mixed experience I had, I would rate the TP-Link Deco BE22000 with 3.5 stars. While it has some commendable features, the connectivity issues, the slower speeds right in front of the router, and the difficulties with Linux machine connectivity prevent me from giving it a higher rating.

Even though they're a bit expensive, these are absolutely worth every penny. After upgrading my nest wifi pro 6E mesh network to these, my Internet speed went from 50MBPS to 1400+ MBPS! Plus the connection is way my reliable, consistent, and doesn't randomly disconnect my smart home devices at the edge of my home (e.g. my security cameras and doorbell)

Disappointed in the performance and range of this setup. I have a 1 gig fiber connection but can never get over 450 upload with a 800 download speed. I OPt'd for these over the Netgear due to the performance issues with Netgear frequent disconnects and the ridiculous price for a comparable unit. I wished I had purchased the Netgear for the amazing performance. Still reviewing my options to trade it.

If you want premium you have to pay for it. Yes this mesh system is expensive, so it was my netgear orbi. This system is by far more superior then netgear. Connecting multiple cameras is a breeze, dont have to enable Iot network at all to connect devices. This is maybe overkill for my 3000sq foot home but it covers it nicely from corner to corner.
