Likes: ease of setup, stylish, good instructions. Dislikes: more control than Orbi but cannot control to level of granularity of an Asus.

Unreliable Product – Failed After Only Two Years

I purchased a TP-Link Deco system expecting a reliable, long-term solution for my home network. After only two years of normal use, the main unit completely failed and required constant resets leading up to that point. Customer support confirmed the product was out of warranty and offered no real resolution — just the suggestion to buy another one. That’s unacceptable for a product at this price point. I will not be buying another Deco unit and will be switching to UniFi for a more dependable setup. Save yourself the frustration and look elsewhere for something that actually lasts.

      Hello TJ

In terms of solutions, there is not much that can be offered on a product that is out of warranty and requiring a replacement. Support would be happy to help and troubleshoot the concern to see if there is something that can be identified in the setup or environment that, if changed, would restore the service in the unit. But, if this is case where an RMA is truly needed and the product is outside of the warranty period we would be unable to provide a replacement.

I have two properties on 1 acre and this system allowed me to extend Wi-Fi across the entire acre. I highly recommend it versus running wires and antennas!

The hardware is great. However, the software is a little difficult to work with. If you are not tech savvy like myself definitely hire the geek squad and they will teach you how to work it and how to upgrade any softwares in the future.

Replaced a AX11000 TP-Link router and although it’s a significant price difference, the OS and performance is superior to what I’ve had and worked with previously. The next benefit is that it is “future-proof”. A big part of why I chose this system is cause of the multiple multi-gig ports. It can get extensive but the end result is very satisfying if that’s your goal.

Purchased 4 weeks ago. The connection has rock solid throughout the house with no dropped clients (or at least noticed). I had an initial slow upload speed issue with FIOS that was resolved instantly through TP-Link support and a beta firmware. That firmware build has since been released. We have a mix of older and newer clients (30 at any time). We get 600-700mbps on the newer ones at all times.

Wifi part works great. Excellwnt coverage and speed. The router part is borderline awful. The porta are self configured. When Comcast decodes to perform maintenance, the router WILL NOT RECOVER. This leads to many frustrating outages for your family. Please allow us to pick the WAN port and end the insanity. Very likely to return - not worth the fristation at this price point.

We have a 3 story, 3000 sq ft home and too many dead spots with one router. I bought this product and placed a mesh router on each floor and its perfect. No more restarting the internet or toggling airplane mode for a reset. We use it with verizon fios.

Good in theory, continuously reboots and errors throughout the install and usage. Would await further wifi 7 products for further stability. Continue to watch the market. Can try on your own if enough firmware has been released since initial debut of BE 85

Really wish I could like this system and get it to stay connected. I wanted this system because of the USB capabilities to add an external drive for movies. Our iPhones are constantly trying to stay connected and if I turn off my wifi and then back on I can sometimes get the phone to connect for awhile. When it works it’s fast but most of the time it’s causing issues. The system is going back shortly. I’ll be going back to an Orbi system even though they are more expensive.
