That is mostly a problem if like me, you have two different brands of outlets (read more apps). The good news is the app allows you to do things like schedule the outlet. I have a lamp plugged in, which if away from home, I can turn on or off via app (or Alexa) but can also schedule it to come on automatically.

Perfect accessory for remote controlling lights

The app is super intuitive & functional. Easy to create names for whatever you use it for, schedules, etc. Super fun to give things goofy names so the fam has to say it when using Alexa. Which, setting up to use with Alexa is also super easy.

I wanted to go out with families for 1 night and 2 days trip and had no idea how to leave them alone without food but at least basking lamp to be turned on and off so that they can thrive. This little smart device helped me. I could schedule the timings for light to turn on and off as desired. Hurray! I went with my families and turtles enjoyed basking.
